The Sketch Squad
Centro Loyalty is second nature. He won’t rush in, instead takes his time to learn the ropes and the skills needed. Once committed he’s creative with a ball at his feet or a pencil in his hand, and certainly gives his all for the team.
Capitano
Pro
The leader of the squad on and off the pitch. Clever, focussed and driven to do well. She makes sport fun for her team, and always challenges them to grow on the pitch and learn life skills off it.
The old head of the squad, a true team player. Success is not what drives him, he takes pride in his work and the way the game is played. Same goes in the design lab – it’s about the quality of the design and the reaction of the client.
Tek
Cameo
Tek’s not naturally sporty, but sets herself ambitious goals that through practice are always exceeded. This perseverance continues off the pitch, where she trusts in the process and the apps at her disposal to come up with designs that delight.
Good at most sports but not driven by the need for recognition. He’s pretty chilled and equally happy leading or going with the flow on the pitch and in the studio. Team skills are a strength so he’s at his best when working and playing with friends.

The name game NETBALL
It’s time to choose your team name. With your teammates think about a shot, a playing position, a player or something else that would give your team instant recognition. Why not scribble a few ideas here and then talk through them with your team
Profile: Dixie
Profile: Tre
As captain and creative spark of the team Dixie strives to continually improve her performance. She’s the first on the training pitch in the morning, and the last to leave it. She coaches and supports her teammates to work on their skills and designs, and creates an inclusive environment where all are welcome.
A ball playing centre back. Tenacious in the tackle, he lets the game unfold in front of him before making his move. On the pitch and in the design studio he’s not afraid to take calculated risks, and even though he’ll speak his mind and challenge his teammates when they need it, he is always respectful.
Sketch Squad Tip Think about a name with many meanings. Dixie and Tre are both inspired by the England crest – Dixie by the ten Tudor Roses, and Tre by the Three Lions. ‘Dix’ means ten and ‘Tre’ means three in some languages. Their character profiles are inspired by what it means to pull on an England shirt.

What’s in a font? NETBALL
Words and images tell a story – and so does the font we use. Big bold text suggests strength, something more playful can be funny, while write at an angle and your words will zoom across the page. You’ll need to choose a font that represents your team. There’s a few ideas below, but you’ll find loads more online. Or get creative and draw your own.
What will you choose? Option 1
Option 2
Sketch Squad Tip Think of different fonts on logos, look around the room for inspiration, go to font websites!
6
Add Some Colour What colours will you use on your character? Colours are a great way of visually getting your message across – if you’ve picked a bold character think about a strong colour like red, or for someone a little more cunning think about blues, greens or even purples. Use the chart below to pick a colour range that shows what your character is all about.
