From The Editor's Desk Pluto Recognised as a 'Dwarf' Planet Pluto has been derecognised as a planet, and placed in the category of a 'Dwarf' planet by over 2500 astronomous of the International Astronomical Union. In 1801, an asteroid named Ceres was discovered and was placed as the eighth planet. After twenty years, Uranus and other planets were discovered. Around 1850, even Ceres was derecognised as a planet and was termed as an Asteroid. Following were the reasons for placing the Pluto in the category of a dwart planet •
With the advancement of science and technology, powerful telescopes are being invented which enable the astronomers and cosmologist to peep much deeper into the ever expanding and vast cosmos. Many small New Solar Family celestial bodies are being identified. Sedena Neptune Ceres Saturn and other bodies are in these category. Every Earth 2003 Mercury UB313 heavenly body cannot be classified as planet because it degrades the importance of a Sun planet. Venus

Xena should have been given the classification of a planet because as other planets, it also revolves round the Sun.

There are many asteroids between Mars and Jupiter which revolve round the Sun. Due to their relatively smaller mass they have not be placed as planets.

Pluto is a very distant planet having a very small mass. Its diameter is less then that of Moon.

Its orbit is highly elliptical such that it crosses the path of Neptune and thus qualifies definition of a comet.

a the Pluto as a dwarf planet. It is quite obvious that students of astrology would like to understand its repercussion in the field of Astrology. It is quite important to know here that the definition of planet in Astrology is at variance with the definition of the same in Astronomy. According to Astrology the planet is a heavenly body in the universe which casts its effect on the living and non- living objects on earth. However, according to astronomy any celestial body is called a planet which revolves round the sun and is in a round shape because of its gravitational force. The Astrological interpretation of planet is different from the Astronomical definition. Nodes of the Moon, Sun and Moon have been incorporated as planets in Astrology but they are termed as nodes, star and satellite respectively in Astronomy. Though the Astrology is based on Astronomy but has a divergent view regarding the interpretation and use of the planets. Astrology is least concerned about the new inclusions or exclusions of planets discovered by astronomers because their existence is not new to the Astrology. Astrology may be swayed only when some new planet is created or an existing one is destroyed. When the Sea became Sweet : On 18th of August in Mumbai, the salinity of water in Mahim Bay was reduced to zero to the utter surprise of people who mistook it as a divine phenomenon and started drinking water of Mahim Bay with devotion and faith. In the laboratory test also, the water was found sweet. Scientifically, it is possible when there is heavy rain and there is low tide in the sea. The rain water inundates the sea by flowing towards it. On that day, the same thing happened. The Meethi river was flooded with rain High water and there was a low tide in sea because of Moon in the eastern horizon. River water flowed towards the sea in Mahim Bay and was turned sweet for sometime. Astrologically, the time for heavy rain comes, when Mars is in conjunction with Sun in either Cancer or Leo. High tide in the sea takes place when the Moon transits either fourth or tenth house. Very high tide takes place when Sun conjuncts Moon or it is 180째 apart from Moon i.e. on Full Moon or New Moon. When at the noon or midnight the Moon and Sun both tenant either fourth or tenth house, they attract water, which makes tide in the sea. It becomes low when the Moon tenants either first or seventh house. On that particular day the Sun and Mars were in Leo, flanked by Saturn and Jupiter. Because of this planetary position, the heavy rain took place and when the Moon was in the first house at midnight a low tide occurred and the river water inundated the Bay making its water sweet. This phenomenon takes place once in many years, but astrologically it can surely be foretold.

From The Desk of Managing Editor Mundane Astrology After discussing the position of planets in 9th and 10th house in our previous issue we shall look forward to 11th and 12th house and the position of planets and their effects. Eleventh House The eleventh house has a special reference to parliament, the house of commons, parliamentary debates, legislation and to members of the house. When a malefic is placed, troubles can be seen in the parliament or illness or death may occur to leading parliamentarians. Planets in the Eleventh house SUN : Sun placed in eleventh house shows a dignified attitude, beneficial legislation, mostly affecting imperial interests and success in the work of parliament. If afflicted it will bring indisposition and the deaths of members and troubles in parliament. MOON : Moon in eleventh house will not carry any importance in regular course, but if afflicted may show changes in the cabinet, disagreement among members, also sickness may cause to some of the leading lady parliamentarians. MARS : Mars in the eleventh house will bring much trouble and irritation in parliamentary circles. Also it may cause illness or death to the members. Disputes and party splits may take place on account of matters concerning military, arms and ammunitions, war etc. if mars is well aspected by the Sun it shows beneficial alterations in regard to the army and Navy and improvement in the national services. MERCURY : Mercury in eleventh house if well aspected shows an active and busy time in parliament. Legislation affecting trade commerce and education. But if badly aspected it shows embittered discussions, personal recriminations, arguments and disputes. JUPITER : Jupiter in eleventh house is always favourable it may influence on good democratic legislation, and improvement in trade, commerce and financial affairs. If afflicted if will bring religious and financial disputes, depreciation of Government securities and the Government may come under acute financial crisis. VENUS : Venus in the eleventh house is favourable for legislation, but it may affect lady parliamentarians on account of their personal affairs. Some of the affairs may become public leading to marriage of public personalities, if afflicted it will show bereavements to members, unpleasant episodes and debates, also may create scandals in parliamentary circles. a SATURN : Saturn in the eleventh house is not a favourable placement unless it is well aspected by benefics. It brings many difficulties in the affairs of the country illness and death among members. Party splits or change in ministry can also be anticipated. If badly afflicted, adverse conditions can be seen in the Government, which may even lead to the fall of ministry. Twelfth House The twelfth house has a special signification concerning prisons, hospitals, asylums, reformatories, charitable institutions, crime, criminals, spies, secret agents and foes. If malefics are occupying this house or if the house is very much afflicted than there will be increase in crime, burglaries and murders. The amount of trouble is directly related to the amount of affliction. If the benefics are occupying this house, or the house is Unaffected and fully under the influence of benefic planets, then there will be benefits to the hospitals and institutions and decrease of crime generally. Planets in the Twelfth house SUN : Sun occupying the 12th house and if badly afflicted will cause trouble in work houses and similar institutions and disgrace to prominent officials and personalities of the country. If well aspected it shows an improved state of affairs in the management of public institutions also chief officials or important personalities may gain honor from the public. MOON : Moon in the 12th house normally will not give any effect, but if the moon is very much afflicted, may bring scandals in public institutions, hospitals, charitable trusts. Illness and crime against women and children may increase. MARS : Mars in 12th house is a very evil position denoting a great increase of crime, murders, violence and may also produce fires in public institutions, unruly behavior from chief officials etc are seen. If badly afflicted the evil effects will also increase considerably. MERCURY : Mercury in 12th house, if well aspected by benefics changes in constitution, legislative changes, alterations to commercial laws, etc can be seen. If badly afflicted public scandals may increase, press and Media may attack the Government policies openly, also crime against children may increase. JUPITER : Jupiter in the 12th house is a favourable position for public institutions, and will bring many benefits, increased subscriptions, donations etc. to the institutions. If afflicted it points to heavy expenses, losses, and troubles to chief officials of public institutions. VENUS : Venus in the 12th house shows many benefits to public institutions, increase in donations and benefits. Their financial position will have a good appreciation from the public. If afflicted it may produce scandals waste of public money, also crime against women and children may increase. SATURN : Saturn in the 12th house is a unfavourable position. Because normally it denotes crime and scandals in public institutions involving top Government officials and parliamentarians, loss to public property etc. even with affliction of benefic planets the situation will not Improve. P
eople are more anxious to seek guidance, well in advance about the profession and careers of their children. Soon they attain a particular stage in their education. It is the ignorance of the parents, guardians and the teachers who contribute considerably to the miserable failures of careers of the children. We have often come across people, whose lives are a failure just because they chose an unsuitable vocations. In other words, what we call aptitude is completely ignored with the result one’s talents are suppressed and one is made to suffer apparently for no fault. One of the most important uses of astrology is the guidance it gives to the parents, who are more keen to know about the future of their son or daughter ’s educational career well in advance. Astrology can guide a grown up man who is still undecided about the occupation in his life. If a study of astrological principles is taken up seriously, a more valuable guidance can be given to an individual as to what vocation would be suitable for him to achieve success. Required level of accuracy in prediction of this subject is still awaited as it needs to be strengthened with more research. I shall endeavour to show in this article how far astrology enables one to choose a successful vocation consistent with his aptitude. The important considerations are
According to Jaimini the planet with highest longitude becomes the Atmakaraka. The sign in which the Atmakaraka is situated in the Navmansha becomes the Karakamsha. Association of various planets with Atmakaraka either in the Rashi or Navmansha, we can get a clue for the vocation of the native. Here are some of the astrological combinations of planets, which shall give a glimpse of the profession of the Native. SUN : Sun is responsible to give more power, ability to rule and command, will make the native to gain fitness for a Government employment, or a high profile business executive with status and dignity. (a) If Sun occupies the Karakamsha lagna, the native will be fond of public work, and will take interest in political activities.

(b) If Sun and Venus aspect Karakamsha, the native will be employed by Royal people or Top Class politicians.

To begin with, consider Karakamsha chart as a pivotal point. A planet in Karakamsha becomes the key planet. The dominant planet having been thus discovered notice must be taken of the blend, it makes with other planets, which is aspected, or with the sign in which it is placed etc. In considering the blends care must be taken to note which is stronger of the influences blended.

ince Karakamsha plays an important role in Jaimini astrology hence we shall deal it exhaustively in three to four parts. Here Jaimini enumerates the impact of various planets in the Karakamsha lagna and in the various houses from karakamsha lagna. In this part of article we have knowingly used translated words of Neelkantha and Krishan Mishra instead of original Jaimini sutras. The word Hkk- (Bha) means Hkk"kk] Vhdk or (Bhav of the sutra). Planets in the Karakamsha Lagna

Here chemist does not mean that one will sell medicines but one will be engaged in the business/profession related to chemicals and it can be medicines also.
2- Hkk- dkjdka'ks pUnzs cq/kn`"Vs oS|%A If the Moon be posited in Karakamsha lagna and aspected by Mercury the native will be a doctor. Here the word doctor relates to anybody engaged in healing the patients.

Further this Moon is conjoined by Mars and Rahu one will suffer from tuberculosis. Note: In whole of Jaimini astrology sage has not considered Sagittarius a benefic sign. This can be the only reason he has dealt it so harshly. When Cancer rises as Karakamsha lagna which is a watery sign, Cancer rules over chest and lungs and by the placement of Moon, a watery planet, and when both the sign and Moon are afflicted by fiery planet Mars and Rahu, who are capable of giving a long lasting disease, one may suffer from a disease like tuberculosis.

Astro Learning Note: Here the sage has emphasized the occupation of Karakamsha lagna by Mars only for causing the superficial skin related diseases but sage is silent about aspect of Mars on Karakamsha lagna. Planets in the Second House from Karakamsha Lagna While dealing the impact of planets on the 2nd house of Karakamsha lagna we have again taken Hkk"kk (Translation) only. Here we have used 1st sutra only to explain the Katpayadi value as advocated by Jaimini.
1- lw= % r= jokS jktdk;Z ij%A The word Tatra (26/12=2) as per Katpayadi value indicates the 2nd house. When the Sun be placed or aspecting the 2nd house from Karakamsha lagna the native is engaged in public service. Here public service means that the native will be in government job, a political worker or a politician. Sage lays down a condition here that the Sun while influencing the 2nd house of Karakamsha lagna should be strong by being in its own sign or sign of exaltation. The influence of a powerful Sun can make the influence of native even a minister. In case the Sun's influence is weak, the native will be low class government employee and in case weak Sun is further afflicted one may get defeated in the election. Note: Being a natural rajya kripa karaka strong Sun is capable of lifting the native to a very high position, whereas the impact of a weak Sun is not appreciated by the sage in the 2nd house from Karakamsha lagna.

(c )If this Mercury is placed between 15° to 22.5° the native can be engaged in fine arts or native can be a sculptor. (d) If Mercury is placed between 22.5° to 30° one is a litigant means native can be a lawyer or a judge depending upon the strength of Mercury .

If Saturn is posited in the 2nd house to Karakamsha lagna the native makes his : livelihood by performing yajnas. He adheres to ancient customs and traditions. Here sage is clear about the qualities of Saturn of making the native an ascetic or sanyasi.

An afflicted Rahu here makes the native a cheat, one may earn one’s livelihood by stealing and dacoity. In case Rahu here is influenced by Saturn one becomes an expert medical man dealing with poisonous drugs and medicine. Note: The word èkkuq"dk used by sage means bows and arrows, and in modern era this should be replaced by modern weapons used in warfare. While stealing and dacoity can be replaced by smuggling, black-marketing etc. finally both Rahu and Saturn are significators of poison and modern medicines are all poisonous.

n the illusion of human life some survive, some succumb, some procure super success and some fall down in dump. Politicians are public figures as they get pomp and power. Astrologically, politicians are blessed with nectar of the first house (place of self strength), second house (place of eloquence), third house (place of prowess), fourth house (place of faith of masses), fifth house (place of analysis and logic), ninth house (place of augmentation and auspiciousness) and tenth house (place of occupation and administration). However, a person who is bestowed with the benefics of major houses of the horoscope, is sometimes victim of malefic houses, ie, 6, 8 and 12th. This is true - dominance of propitious houses lifts the native to dazzling heights of name, fame and prosperity but a little effect of the arrogance of these malefic houses calls the moment when everything suddenly, some how, changes to doom. A political assassination is such an example. Let us make an astrological probe into the matter. The mechanical and biological strength of physical body of the native is represented by ascendant and its lord in the horoscope. Influence of benefic planets - waxing Moon, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus on ascendant and/ or its lord is beneficial for the individual to make him driven, energetic, ambitious, successful and long-lived, but if the ascendant is related to 8th or 12th house, the native suffers setbacks and unnatural death either by some sort of accident or assassination. unfortunate place of the horoscope because it is related to delusion, seclusion, loss, expense, secret enemies, imprisonment and unseen troubles. It is the opinion that if there is no planet in the 12th house and its lord is posited in 3rd or 8th house or aspected by Saturn (not by Mars or Rahu), the evil characteristics of this house get minimised and the horoscope gains some extra strength. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of USA and one of the greatest American heroes was born in a poor family who earned his living by working on the river as a boatman, by splitting rails and acting as postmaster. ecently a delegation comprising 97 people from India had gone to Thailand and Singapore to participate in International Astrological Conferences on 22nd23rd July 2006 in Bangkok and on 30th July 2006 in Singapore. A large number of people went together on this journey abroad. There must be some astrological planetary combination or yoga responsible for this phenomenon.
According to Astrology, planetary yoga (planetary combinations) for travel abroad is studied from 7th, 9th or 12th houses of the horoscope. In the main period or sub period of planets owning or occupying these houses there may be foreign tours. Even the transit of Saturn, Rahu and Jupiter from these houses facilitates forei gn tours. On the basis of the statistics of birth details of these persons a comprehensive study was made as follows •
Most of the people were of Cancer, Leo or Libra ascendants. Persons of Pisces ascendant were only a few in number. Aries was the Moon sign of most of them.
For Cancer Ascendant Saturn was in ascendant, Jupiter in 4th house and Rahu was in 9th house in transit. For Leo ascendant Saturn was in 12th house in transit. For Moon in Aries, Rahu was in 12th house and Jupiter was in 7th house in transit. •
In the horoscopes of most of the people the Mahadasas (Major Period) of Rahu, Jupiter or Saturn were going on without any instance of Sun's major period. Most of the major period lords were the lords of 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th houses and were occupying 6th
or 9th house, whereas sub-period lords were the lords of 2nd, 4th, 9th or 12th house and were posited in 5th or 8th house. Rahu is the significator of foreign travel whereas Jupiter is that of Astrology and Saturn is that of Vedic knowledge. If a person is going through Rahu Mahadasa, it would enhance the possibilities of journey abroad because after this he would be going through the major periods of Jupiter and Saturn which would facilitate foreign journey. •
In most of the horoscopes, Sun was in 1st, 6th, 7th or 12th house, Moon was in 3rd and 8th, Mars was in 2nd and 5th, Mercury was in 1st, 5th, 6th, 9th, 12th, Jupiter was in 2nd and 10th, Saturn was in 2nd and 7th and Rahu was in 9th house.
The placement of Sun, Mercury and Saturn in these different houses was showing larger difference than average which indicate that these three planets are chief significators of travel abroad. •
Incidence of some planets in some particular signs was conspicious e.g. in most of the cases Sun and Mars were in Cancer and Leo whereas their placement in Sagittarius and Pisces was a few. Moon was in Aries in most of the charts, Mercury was in Virgo, Venus in Libra, Saturn in Aries and Cancer with Rahu in Libra.

was in Purvaphalguni and Dhanishta in most of them. Saturn was in Jyeshta and Purvabhadrapada whereas Venus was in Ardra or Punarvasu constellation in most of the charts. •
In Navansha Chart Aries, Cancer and Leo ascendants were more in number and Virgo ascendant was minimum in number. Sun was in 8th or 10th house in Navamsha, Moon was in Pisces and was placed in 9th or 12th houses in most of the cases. Mars was in the Navamsha of Libra in most of the charts whereas its placement in Taurus and Aries was minimum. Saturn in majority of cases was placed in 10th house in Aries Navamsha.
In number of horoscopes, Ascendant Lord was in 6th house, 2nd lord was in 7th, 5th lord was in 6th, 9th lord was in 9th, 10th lord was in 6th, 9th and 10th whereas 12th lord was in 1st, 5th, 8th or 12th houses.

A
strologically 5th and 10th houses play an important role in identifying the profession, the course of intellectual pursuit. In the modern world many new courses and branches of knowledge have come out, making it difficult to choose out of many branches of knowledge with the help of 12 Rasis, 12 Bhavas and the 9 planets. Our ancient saint like Parasara, either considered, that the Astrologers will be wise and logically well developed to make a judicious selection by permutation and combination of planets. Thus the new generation of astrologers are groping in darkness as to how to judge the horoscope to find the course of studies and the nature of profession. A study in a particular subject does not necessarily mean that he will take up a profession in the same line. There are many Doctors, Engineers who become a contractors, actors, politicians and dacoits. In other words many of them did not choose a profession suitable to their educational qualifications. Hence an astrological assessment of profession on the basis of study of planets in the 5th house may go wrong, without considering the 10th house. The course of study may be influenced by the ruling planets, in the life during the formative years i., 5th to 20th years of age. A qualified Doctor, by leaving his medical profession become a politician or an industrialist or an actor. An Engineer after 10 years of profession has become a Homeopathic Doctor, Ayurvedic Doctors have alternative medicine profession like magnetherphy, flower therphy and so on. Review So, we can assume that the native will have technical education with a mixture of mathematics, literature, logic, chemicals food education, and teaching as per the qualities of Mercury and Jupiter. With this data, it becomes possible to fix the course of study, but to pin point we have to examine Dasa period from 5th to 20th year. The balance of Dasa at Birth is around 5 years Rahu. So 5th to 20th year, Jupiter dasa will be in force. Jupiter, essentially a teacher. During this period the native will take Technical studies connected with the Mars and Mercury. Mars is technician, Mercury mathematician. During this period the native studied a technical course with tinge of educational system designing and architects. But from 20th onwards for 19 years the native will enter Saturn Dasa, posited in 6th house, associated with the lord of 2nd Sun. he natal horoscope is a portrait of a person's life. Health, Wealth, Career and Marriage are the major issues which are of concern to all of us. Today we are living in a materialistic society, therefore, Wealth gets prime importance to everybody. For getting all comforts, we need money in abundance. There are various ways by which a person can acquire wealth. Some people are born with silver spoon in their mouth and they get all comforts by virtue of luck or Raj yogas in their horoscope. Some people work hard, some use their intelligence, some resort to black marketing, smuggling and all sorts of illegal means to get wealth. The 2nd and 11th houses are mainly responsible for finance. Lagna, 9th and 5th houses also play important roles. Even 10th house, Jupiter and Moon are important for finance. The person is a pauper ever since his birth and lives by alms if the lords of the 2nd and 11th houses are placed in 6, 8 or 12 along with malefics. The association or affliction of 6th, 8th or 12 house destroy the ambitious effects of wealth or dampen the financial prospects. The lord of 2nd with lord of 9th occupying the 11th with Moon and Jupiter will make a native a millionaire. Good indications are obtained from the Hora Chart regarding the flow of wealth in a particular Dasha period. During operational period of planets placed in a Hora of Sun, person has to make efforts to earn and accumulate wealth. During the period of planets placed in the Hora of Moon earning and accumulation come naturally without must efforts.
4. If lord of 2nd and 11th be placed or related with 6th/8th/12th while Mars is in 11th and Rahu is in 2nd, native will loose his wealth on account of royal punishment.

efore finalizing a marriage proposal, the boy’s family invariably meets the girl in person. However, the way it is done now hardly serves any useful purpose. At present a group of persons comprising children, ladies, relatives, parents and even grand parents along with the prospective bridegroom converge at the girl’s house or at some other prearranged place. rasna Marga is an exhaustive treatise on various aspects of Horary Astrology. This Sastra was written in 1649 A.D. at a place called Edakad in Kerala. This sastra was written taking data from the ancient sources. This sastra not only covers the entire range of Astrology such as Jataka, Muhurta, parihara but also nimittas and Mantra Sastra. This sastra is very popular in Kerala by name Asta Mangala Prasna. Several methods were given in this sastra to forecast the result of the prasna. One such important method is based on Five Principles. Five Sutras Method : As usual rasi chakra known as prasnachakra is cast, based on the time of the question. Rising Lagna is also decided along with the positions of the various grahas. There is another lagna by name Arudha Lagna. The questioner will be asked to put his finger or some gold piece blind fold in any square of the rasichakra. That rasi is called as Arudha Lagna.
From the below table, it can be learnt soon what future result of Prasna is required, Amsaka and Maha Sutras are to be considered. Samanya Sutra is decided by Arudha Rasi and Lagna Rasi in Prasna Chakra. Adhipati Sutra is decided by the Lords of Arudha Rasi and Lagna Rasi. Amsaka Sutra is decided by the Lagna Navamsa Rasi and Arudha Navamsa Rasi. Nakshatra sutra is decided by the Janma Nakshatra of the questioner and the rising lagna Nakshatra at the time of question. Each of these 10° parts correspond to different parts of the body as shown in figure 2 below – In figure 3 given below the position of the planets corresponding to each 10° part is shown. For example in the 1st house Venus and Mars are responsible for cheeks and for the central 10° Venus is responsible for face, nails and hair. Similarly for rest of the planets the figure is itself explanatory. If a planet representing a 10° p art occupies the same part the possibility of the ailment or disease corresponding to that part will increase. By co-relating figures 2 and 3 we can connect the disease with the corresponding planet. Diseases Caused by Planets : SUN - If Sun, Moon and Venus are present either alone or in conjunction in 10° space representing eye, then an ailment in the eyes results. If Venus is in conjunction with either Moon and Sun then a permanent ailment results e,g; colour blindness or night blindness. Conjunction of Sun and Saturn causes Sambal bai. Conjunction of Rahu which causes ulcer in eyes and conjunction of Sun and Moon causes Cataract. If Venus is present in the house representing eyes and is aspected by Moon then, person becomes Myopic. In general the presence of retrograde or debilitated Mars harms the eyes. MOON- Moon when present in its 10° house may cause fever with cold. Conjunction of Moon with Mercury in the conventional sixth and second house may cause diseases like Influenza, Ulcer or Cancer. It also reduces disease fighting capability of the person. Moon when present in sixth , seventh or eighth house and aspected by Lord of the sixth may cause diabetes and other urinary system problems. MARS- Mars when exalted in sixth, eighth, or seventh house creates high blood pressure. On the other hand when debilitated, combust or in inimical sign in same houses causes Low Blood Pressure. Conjunction of Mars and Rahu in sixth house causes Leprosy whereas presence of Ketu with Lord of the sixth house in sixth house or aspecting sixth house causes Eczema. If lord of sixth house aspects first Dreshkana of fourth house then it causes ‘dahedi’ disease.
MERCURY- Mercury if present in Ascendent or twelfth house in conjunction with Sun or aspected by Sun causes Migraine. JUPITER – Jupiter controls body weight, kidney, bile and calf muscles. If Jupiter is present along with Saturn in sixth or eighth house then increase in the body weight is indicated. Jupiter’s presence in third or eleventh house indicates the possibility of a problem in ears but the presence of any other planet except Rahu in these houses removes this possibility. Exchange of the lord of fourth and tenth houses or the presence of Jupiter in fourth, tenth and first and last Dreshkana of seventh is indicative of kidney problems. The presence of Jupiter in tenth and Sun in ascendant may give rise to Jaundice. VENUS- Venus in conjunction with Moon or Sun in second or twelfth house is indicative of problems concerning eyes. Conjunction with other planets except Rahu also creates the possibility of problems for eyes. Presence of Venus in sixth , seventh or eighth or if these houses are aspected by Venus indicates the possibility of diabetes or a problem in genital organ. If Moon is in conjunction with Venus in these houses the intensity of such disease might increase. However, if Jupiter is present in these houses it removes the possibility of these ailments but changes it to the possibility of diabetes and disease of the eye. SATURN – In second house Saturn indicates trouble in teeth, in fourth house it indicates acidity and gastric problems, in sixth, seventh and eighth house it produces trouble in knees and calf muscles and its presence in seventh house produces enhanced gastric problems. RAHU- Rahu along with Mercury controls the production of hormones and functions of small and large intestine. Nails and hair of the body are nourished by Mercury but their diseases are controlled by Rahu. If Rahu and Mercury are badly placed in fourth, sixth , eighth and twelfth from ‘11th lord’, Then diseases of nails and hair crop up. Rahu in fourth, fifth or sixth house gives rise to stomach problems like swelling in intestine , enlargement of liver and piles. Rahu along with Venus in seventh or along with a cruel planet in fourth house produces impotence and related problems. Rahu in eighth house causes brittleness in bones and in ninth house it produces pain in waist region.

KETU - Ketu is mainly responsible for tuberculosis. It indicates different diseases in different houses e,g; in fourth house it creates the probability of a gland in uterus, in fifth house it creates excess of X- chromosomes which either gives more female children or no children, in sixth house it indicates mental problems and in seventh house it creates the possibility of tuberculosis. In eighth house Ketu creates problems of swelling in glands and vibration in different parts. When present in first and last Dreshkana of seventh house along with Mars it may cause hydrocele. In ninth house it causes ‘Fracture’ and in tenth it produces acidity. SPECIAL DISEASES
If cancer sign is affected by cruel planets there is a possibility of cancer or ulcer in cancer related parts intensifies.

astu is originated from the creator (Brahma) who taught this science to several sages, Rishies. Sages disseminated this knowledge of Vastu shilpa sastra to their followers to benefit the larger interest of mankind and the universe. Vastu is derived from the verbâ&#x20AC;?VASâ&#x20AC;? means to dwell and also the place of residence. Viswakarma, Maya and many more are the sthapathis (Architects Sculptors, Engineers, painters, Interior Designers etc, of devas and Asuras dealing with the science of Vastu. The most important books like Manasara, Mayamatam Viswakarma, Vastu sastram, Vastu vidya, Silpa Vignana Sangraham Silparatnam, Brihatsamhita etc and many more written in sanskrit are the classics of Vastu. In addition to the above ancient works, the principle vastu shilpsastra are abundantly found in the various puranas like Agni purana, Brahmananda purana, Devi Purana, Varaha Puranam, Vishnu Dharmottara Puranam etc. According to Indian Shilpacharyas the term Shilp Shastra includes the three division of vastu, Construction of houses, Temples, Palaces etc., otherwise known as architecture. Temples, living places, Assembly Halls, Hotels, Guest Houses, Audience Rooms and a host of structures to meet the needs of men of all grades are thus so adjusted in plan as to secure and give importance to Eastern frontage. The next step consists in the determination of true East, for which elaborate rules are laid down even as the construction progresses from the base upwards to the top. Conservation of angular momentum of the planet Earth due to its tremendous rotation from west to East and its axis of rotation, interplanetary attractions and repulsionâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s were considered while planning and designing of human and animal settlements.
The North-East corner which stands for Eesanya, corresponds with the ultra violet segment of the solar spectrum and goes by several names as shiva, Nilakantha, Trinarayana etc., The names of several deities represent the various rays of sun, similarly the South Eastern corner represents Agneya (or Agni) which corresponds to the infra red segment of the solar spectrum. The sun, when appears in the horizon is accompanied by seven deities, which are nothing but seven rays (seven planets like Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn). In Vastu Shastra, the following are taken into consideration; earth its shape etc., mountains their height etc., continents and people and other characteristics. Construction in general to all kinds of people is given according to their status, calculation were given for construction of rooms, nursery, toilets, outhouses, verandas, drawing rooms, staircase in such a way as to give maximum comfort, freedom and privacy to make a house a real home. The pride of a house lasts for generation. The houses under construction under mass scale by Governments or other units are not following the traditional Vastu rules and they are built according to the convenience of the engineers and planners on the site, thus paying the way for suffering to the occupants of such houses. Even the industrial units which are built under financial help by financial institutions, banks, Government and other financiers etc., are also not following the prescribed Vastu rules, within the shortest period of their occupation either the units are becoming sick, or the occupants are undergoing financial troubles and the higher percentage of units are under either lock out or close stages or in litigation with the Bankers/Financiers or in court, thus undergoing heavy losses for nothing of their fault. Open yards should be more towards North and East sides. Levels towards East and North should be lesser than West and South. No trees or steps should be there exactly in front of the main door. A well, temple, pillar, dustbin or dilapidated house, hillock should not be there opposite to the house or to the main entrance. House should always be constructed towards the South and West but not towards the East or North. Sunrays should regularly fall in the house. No bird should be allowed to live inside the house where we live in, it will cause loss of issues. A house should not be in a triangular shape; the inmates will lose mental stability and wealth also. Shadow of a hall should not fall on the house, which will lead to poverty. Always prefer square or rectangular plot. Gates should not be allowed for residential houses on Southwest. Compound wall should be built first and then the inside construction. The height of compound wall in North and East should be less than the height of the compound wall in the South and West. Used out construction materials should not be taken for new constructions. According to house plan the plot can be extended to northeast but should not be reduced by constructing the offsets. Burial ground should be at least 1000 yards distant from the house where the person lives in.

Formula of Success Here we are elaborating a unique and simple formula which would help you to understand and effectively apply the basic rules of Vastu Shastra. North and East = L L (Lesser and Lighter) Since both north and east directions are extremely important, every effort should be made to make their maximum use; as more open space in north or east gives name, fame and prosperity. This also means that the compound walls in the north and the east area would be lower and lighter. Also the land level in these areas would be lower. 2. South and West = H H (Higher and Heavier) Since leaving more open space in South/West side in the house can affect the male members badly; whereas in industry it leads to financial loss and quarrel amongst partners/executives; we would always like to minimize open space on these directions; making these sides heavier and higher. The weight will give maximum resistance to the positive energy on these sides. Hence, we should have higher and thicker compound walls, higher land levels, heavier furniture and so on. 3. North East = Lst Lst ( Lowest and Lightest) This is the highest positive side and needs to be maximized. That is exactly why this side is kept lowest and lightest. No obstruction or hurdle of even a small stature should be placed here.

For instance in the house, kitchen is the place where you have fire and hence, is to be placed here. In an industry this is where the furnace, generator, transformer, boiler etc. should be located for best results. 7. Brahma Sthan: OEE (Open, Even and Empty) The Brahma Sthan is the central area of any place. This space is to be kept open to the sky, the land level should be even i.e. there should not be any level difference here and this area should be empty. There should be no weight placed on the Brahma Sthan. In case of a totally constructed factory the Brahma Sthan can be painted white for demarcation so that any weight is not placed on it even by mistake. irst of all it is very important to analyse which planet is causing problem to the native. Very often it happens that the problem is different and its cause is different. For example, if a native is facing marriage problem due to mental disorder, in that case we have to his mental affliction, not the marriage problem. If we try directly for the problem of marriage , its significator planet or house, then it is quite possible that this improvement may be temporary and transitory, because the treatment of the mental affliction is not done. In that case after sometime due to mental affliction it may again cause problem in married life. So, initially if we provide treatment for his mental affliction and subsequently a treatment for improvement of the married life is applied the married life will be strong, stable, happy and prosperous. For above case first of all a remedy for ascendant lord for mental affliction and after that remedy for seventh house lord is applied. Remedy for which planet ? In astrology there are views of two types. First is the planets who are favourable, Bhaghyesh, Yogakarak and friendly planets as they are already in favour, so there is no need for their remedy. So a remedy should be applied for that planet which is not favourable i.e. marak, badhak, debilitated, enemy or a negative planet. According to the other opinion, planets that are favourable are friends, are yogkarak, are lord of trine or angular houses or are lagna lord, the native should arrange remedy for these planets only, because these planets can help or only these planets can think for the benefit. Enmical planets can never be beneficial just as a friendly person only can be beneficial to us and not an enemy. So we should never welcome an enemy. Wearing of any stone means we welcome the

planet in our home. Here we have to see which planet will do favour to us - which planet is enemy or which planet is friend. Experience says that we have to try the remedy for both benefics as well as malefics. However the method of remedy will be different. The planets that are favourable to us we should try to bring them nearer to us and planets that are against or malefic for us, we should try to keep them away from us. How to do it? If we wear the gem or stone of a favourable planet then it is obvious that we are bringing that planet closer to us. It means that we are inviting our friend to come to our home to help us. Here we should keep in mind that only friendly planets can help us, not enemy planets because the enemy will always look for a chance and when he gets the chance, will certainly attack us. We have to keep him away from us. For this purpose we should donate the items related with that planet or we should offer water related to that planets items. For example, if a nativeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s ascendant is ruled by Mercury i.e. Gemini or Virgo, so Jupiter will be Badhak (obstructer) and Marak (killer) for him. Also Jupiter will be afflicted due to Kendradhipati Dosh for ascendant of planet Mercury. In that case the native should not wear yellow clothes on Thursday and should never wear the Yellow Sapphire. Generally, it is advocated that the native should wear clothes according to the day of the week. But here it is important to remember that a planet that is Marak, Badhak or malefic to the native, cannot be beneficial or helpful to him, therefore

Here it is useful to understand that it is not necessary that an exalted planet is always beneficial. The exalted planet means that the planet is in a position that it can give more results to the earth, where the native lives and a debilitated planet means he is unable to give more powerful results on the earth. Now, we shall discuss how an exalted planet can give malefic effects. Before considering about the remedy of a planet we should find which planet is benefic or malefic, weak or strong. There may be following situations : A benefic planet will always give benefic results, whether he is weak or strong and a planet that is malefic will always give malefic results, whether he is strong or weak. A planet which is benefic and strong will give very good results. If ruling dasa of such a planet is on, we should take advantage and should get more benefits by wearing a stone of this planet. If the planet is benefic and weak then we should also wear its stone, because by wearing its stone we will give more energy to that planet. It means if a beneficial planet is situated in its debilitated sign then it is but obvious that he is a friendly planet, who can help us and can be beneficial to us but he is in a weak and miserable position. He wants to give beneficial results desires or to help us, but he is unable to do so. So, by wearing the stone of such a planet we can obtain more beneficial results. To judge that a planet is malefic or benefic, there are two methods - first, Natural Benefic or Malefic and secondly according to lordship of houses. Here we should remember that the position of a planet in a particular house is less important than the lordship of the house. It is like that if the person of one country goes to a foreign country, lives and works there, then first he works according to the system of his country, society, family or culture, after that he works according to the place where he lives. Hence the lordship is more important than the position of planet in a house. The lord of a benefic house always gives benefic effects and lord of a malefic house always gives malefic effects even if he is a natural benefic or
a natural malefic. But still we cannot discard its natural effects totally. If according to lordship of houses a malefic planet is strong, it means he has more strength to give malefic effects. It means if planet is exalted but malefic then we should never wear the stone of such a planet. Now question arises that if a planet is lord of a benefic house as well as a malefic house then what should we do? Should we wear the stone or donate for such a planet? In that case it is but obvious that the mantra chanting or worship of this planet is the best remedy. Because by worshipping or mantra chanting we make a request to the planet and invite him for our help and we request him to leave our way and remove obstacles from our path of success.
