All India Federation of Astrologers' Societies OBJECTIVES

I

n India there are many institutions of Astrology. To draw the attention of Central and State governments towards all these institutions and for a united effort for rehabilitation of astrology, All India Federation of Astrologers' Societies has been founded in Delhi on 9th May 2001 i e Samvat 2058 Jyeshtha Krishna Dwiteeya Wednesday in Anuradha nakshatra and Parigh yoga.

The main objectives of this Federation are as below : •

To work for the unity of astrologers, palmists, numerologists, vastu specialists and practitioners of any occult science and to create a common platform for them.

To unite other societies, registered or unregistered, national or international working for same cause on a single platform and to strengthen mutual relations.

To promote education in the field of astrology and allied subjects and set a level of competence nationally.

To run, manage, supervise and organize education & training centres, teaching courses for astrology and other occult sciences.

To print or publish books, magazines, periodicals, journals and other education related technical materials.

To propagate and work for the cause of Astrology, Palmistry, Numerology, Vastu, Tantra and various other related subjects.

To hold seminars, conferences, workshops, exhibitions and public meetings.

To honour and award the knowledgeable in the field of astrology and occultism.

To get national and international recognition for astrology and other occult sciences from schools, colleges and universities.

To perform, manage or call for various yagyas, anushthans or lectures on spirituality and occultism by various learned personalities for the development of vedic science in India and abroad and thus aim for world peace.

From The Editor's Desk Matching of Horoscopes Q. : Can the future be made happy by matching horoscopes? Ans. : Future can certainly be made happy by matching horoscopes. Destiny can be changed by actions. Fate is the result of previous birth's actions, or we may say that by matching horoscopes properly, future can be improved. Q. If the horoscope spells doom for the native, how can the future be improved with the help of horoscope matching ? Ans. : Vedas have directed that every individual should make efforts to improve his, or her future. Every work should be done at an auspicious moment by considering the Muhurta, or adopting remedies to propitiate the planets is also a step towards this end. Similarly, married life can also be made happy by matching horoscopes. If a horoscope shows ill effects, then a powerful horoscope can render it's supports to it. Q. : To what extent is horoscope matching a parameter of happy married life? If many 'Gunas' match and there is no Manglik Dosha, will the married life of a couple be definitely a happy one? Ans. : Possibility of a happy married life increases manyfolds, if the horoscopes match with each other. Nevertheless, there is no guarantee for it. Q. : If the horoscopes do not match with each other, can the marriage be still performed? Ans. : If the horoscopes do not match, but other planetary combinations are favourable, marriage can be considered. If very few Gunas match, like less than twelve, then it is better to reject the match for lack of Gunas. Q.: If less than eighteen Gunas, like sixteen or seventeen, match, will it be proper to perform the marriage according to horoscope matching? Ans. : If fifty percent Gunas match, it is considered to be a good match. If only sixteen, or seventeen Gunas match, it does indicate that matching is shifting from good to bad. Findings of a research show that marks given to a happily married couple and marks given to a divorced couple have a difference of only two to three points. Thus matching of all the thirty six Gunas is not the parameter of an ideal matching and matching of less than eighteen Gunas can not be taken as the criteria of bad matching. If the position and aspects of the planets are correct, then matching of up to 15 Gunas can also be taken as right matching. Q.: If Nadi Dosha is there in the horoscope and yet more than 18 Gunas match, then will it be proper to perform a marriage? Ans. : If more than 18 Gunas match in horoscope matching, then it is not necessary to consider 8

any other favourable, or adverse condition Nadi Dosha is harmful for the progeny, but if eighteen Gunas match, no thought should be given to it. Q.: What is the outcome of a marriage with Bhakoot Dosha? Ans. : There is difference of opinion between husband and wife, due to Bhakoot Dosha. But if the lords of their planets are friends, then this adversity becomes less. Q. : If the bride, or the groom is Manglik, is it necessary for the other one also to be a Manglik? Ans. : It is not necessary that both of them are Manglik. Planetary position in one's own, or life partner's horoscope, Manglik Dosha. Q.: Besides the ascendant, should Manglik Dosha be considered from Moon, or Venus also. Ans. : It is meaningless to consider Manglik Dosha from Venus. If considered from Moon, results are much less. Manglik Dosha should be considered from the ascendant only. Q.: Does Mars 'influence remains after the age of twenty eight also, or it lessens with time? Ans. : It is incorrect to believe that Mars influence vanishes after twenty eight years. Manglik Dosha remains forever, but it's influence can be lessened by worship. Q. : Is wearing Coral necessary to get rid of Manglik Dosha, or fasting for Mars, or worshipping it can be alternative remedies? Ans. : To get rid of Manglik Dosha, wearing a Coral is not always the remedy. If Mars is debilitated and is benefic for the horoscope, then it is possible to get rid of Manglik Dosha by wearing a Coral, otherwise chanting Hanuman Chalisa and fasting on Tuesday are the best remedies. Q. : If the girl is strongly Manglik, can it influence the life span of the groom? Ans.: Life span is linked with one's own destiny. But company does have it's influence and it is not correct to perform marriage between a strong Manglik girl and an ordinary boy. Q. : Besides Mars, how much influence do the other planets have on horoscope matching? Ans. : According to the researches done on this subject during modern times, other planets have more influence than Manglik Dosha and Guna matching. Q.: Various Panchangs give different marks to the same Koot. Why does this happen and which should be taken as authentic? Ans.: Often there are differences in the calculations and beliefs in astrology. Same differences remain in the matching tables. These differences are found while considering Gana, Yoni and Bhakoot. But besides Bhakoot Dosha this difference is limited to half, or one mark only. If friendly planets are posited in Bhakoot Dosha, then, according to some sages, full marks are given and others do not give any marks. This way there comes a difference of upto seven marks. Q.: Is it necessary to match the horoscopes if it is a love marriage, or an intercaste one? Ans. : Results of matching are the same in love marriage, or intercaste marriage. Matching is above religion or love of the native. Q. : What are the methods followed, while matching horoscopes? Ans. : In India mostly two methods are followed - North Indian and South Indian . In North India thirty six Gunas are matched, whereas in South India only ten Koots are considered. Q. : Can the horoscope matching done by a computer be relied upon? Ans.: Matching done by a computer, specially Leo Gold Astrological Software, is more accurate than the matching done by hand. If computer rejects a matching and marriage is mandatory, horoscopes should be shown to some knowledgeable scholar and then the marriage should be performed.

Astrology Known as Vedang edas are our heritage and Vedas are nothing but the stored essence of knowledge and astrology is a branch of Veda and known as Vedanga.

Knowledge is in abundance in Vedas and our forefathers in the hoary past built up this knowledge bit by bit. As per the researches done in the recent past the period of Vedas are older than 250 centuries before Christ. Hundreds of sages and Rishis contributed their mites in developing this divine science of astrology. Rishis wanted this knowledge to be stored for posterity, as well as to be disseminated to the entire population. The storage and dissemination of Vedic knowledge is a fascinating saga. Let us take a closer look at it's development. Those were the days when the knowledge was stored only in memory and the knowledge was spread through Shruti and Smriti; that is listening and memorising . The easiest way to commit something to memory is to develop the knowledge in the form of 'RHYME', which was found very useful by our Rishis and accordingly they have developed the knowledge in the form of various Shlokas. That is how we find our ancient texts in the form of Shlokas only. In the said scheme the knowledge which is stored at the apex is Vedas in the form of Sooktees. The selection of language and the words could be very correctly interpreted in a number of ways, to make the less dense portion of Vedas available to larger section of people with some minimum mental development, Upanishadas and Bhashyas were written. Further to take this knowledge to wider circle, Puranas and the two immortal classics, Ramayana and the Mahabharata were developed. We see the seeds of astrology in Vedas and Puranas and understand that there are 36 Shlokas in Rigveda, 44 Shlokas in Yajurveda and more than 160 Shlokas is Aatharv veda. In this Vedic scheme Vedas and Puranas link this Vedang called astrology to the universe. The link is yet another facet of glorious heritage. Puranas tell about the special place of Bharatvarsha in the universe. We find many reasons why astrology had to be developed in our country and then by the whole of universe. Let us now concentrate on developments of this divine science, viz astrology and try to spread this knowledge to every corner of the universe. It is my sincere request to astrologers' community to contribute their precious time and knowledge to build a very powerful army of astrologers, to meet the challenges of tomorrow in the modern world and to create a divine atmosphere in the entire universe. So, let us start this programme immediately with full vigour and strength through our various chapters and study centres of IFAS.

Vastu Ratna : This course is meant for students desirous of studying vastu and want to become vastu consultant. It is also beneficial for architects, builders and for those who intend to construct a house. For housewives too this course is good for making the interior decoration compatible with Vastu. Vastu Shastracharya : After Vastu Ratna or those students who are aware of Vastu laws but are unable to use it should opt for this course. In this course special emphasis is on rectification of Vastu faults. Vastu details for offices, industries, buildings and cities, temples etc. are taught in this course. Vastu Rishi : Alongwith revision of Vastu in its multi-dimensional manifestations, vastu of historical places and town-planning, colonies etc. is taught in this course. How to fix your name using numerology is taught here. Samudrik Ratna : This course is suitable for those students, who wish to learn Palmistry. Analysis of palm, thumb, mounts, signs and different kinds of lines is taught so that one can predict effectively. Samudrik Shastracharya : After Samudrik Ratna this course gives complete knowledge of

palmistry. How to predict for specific questions on health, finance, profession, education, longevity etc. is taught here. Remedies are also explained. Analysis of face reading is also taught. Samudrik Rishi : Alongwith revision of palmistry and face reading, analysis of palm and face of important persons of the world is done in this course. A self study of the original texts of samudrik shastra is also done. It is mandatory to write a project and a thesis. Samudrik Maharshi : Like Vastu and Jyotish Maharshi, in this course students undertake research on Palmistry, Shapes of face and Numerology and publish their research papers in journals. Jyotish Ratna : This course has been designed for amateur students who are putting their first step into astrology. The course comprises of fundamental calculations, planets in different signs and houses of horoscopes and predictions thereof. Using of panchang is also taught. This course is meant to give a grasp of fundamentals of astrology. Jyotish Bhushan : This is a second step in astrology after Jyotish Ratna. Here, additional calculations and complete analysis of horoscope and remedies thereof is taught. A comprehensive information is provided on Horoscope Matching and Muhurtas. After this course the student is able to predict or match the horoscopes and find muhurtas of common use. Jyotish Prabhakar : The syllabus includes Horary astrology and Varshphal (Annual predictions). Detailed knowledge of Horary and annual horoscope is taught. Additionally student is taught about shadbal- the six fold planetary strength. Jyotish Shastracharya : This is the last step of astrology course. Mundane Astrology, predicting events of the country and the world and forecasting weather is taught here. Longevity calculations are also taught. Jyotish Rishi : This course is meant for those astrologers who know astrology and are practising it but are not strong in forecasting. The course aims at revising and honing predictive skills through predictive techniques & matching of horoscopes. Analysis of important horoscopes is done and basic texts of astrology are studied. It is mandatory to write a thesis & complete a project. Jyotish Maharshi : This programme is meant for research. Collection of data and research are the aims. To verify the theories described in ancient texts and to formulate new principles are the main objectives. The duration may be 1 to 3 years. A thesis and publication of articles in journals or magazines are essentials for this course. ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR AIFAS COURSES : The students desiring admission in any course should fill up the 2 forms enclosed with this booklet and deposit the money along with form at the desired centre of study. The amount may be deposited by a demand draft in favour of centre or by cash. Please decide the course of study of your choice and confirm the duration and timing of course from the centre at the time of admission. ELIGIBILITY FOR AIFAS COURSES : There are no prerequisites of knowledge in Astrology for Jyotish Ratna, Vastu Ratna, Ank Jyotishacharya and Samudrik Ratna. Any person who has passed 10+2 can get admission. The admissions are given in the following steps. Jyotish Ratna, Jyotish Bhushan, Jyotish Prabhakar, Jyotish Shastracharya. After passing Vastu Ratna admission may be sought in Vastu Shastracharya. Similarly, after Samudrik Ratna admission may be sought in Samudrik Shastracharya. Rishi Programme is a study of original texts and examples of important personalities or buildings 12

is done. A revision of the basic course is also done. The practising astrologers, Vastu specialists or Palmists who are desirous of strengthening their knowledge may take admission in Rishi Programme. The minimum requirement for Jyotish Rishi is Jyotish Shastracharya or equivalent or 3 years experience in astrology. Practising Vastu specialists or those who have done Vastu Shastracharya, one may join Vastu Rishi. Similarly after Samudrik Shastracharya or practising Palmist may join Samudrik Rishi. For research in astrology, admission may be taken in Jyotish Maharshi. For this requirement is Jyotish Rishi or 5 years experience in astrology. For research in Vastu admission is offered in Vastu Maharshi. For this vastu Rishi or 2 years experience in Vastu is essential. For research in Samudrik Shastra students may take admission in Samudrik Maharshi. The desired qualification for admission is Samudrik Rishi or 2 years experience. A All courses are available on short term durations also. These will have classes for three to four days in a week and will be completed in 3 months. The students desiring to learn astrology quickly may choose these short term courses. The syllabus and total hours of studies are same for long term and short term courses. COURSE MATERIAL : The desired study material will be provided to every student by the centre. Required text book will be given to students. Additionally students will be given horoscopes in astrology courses or a compass etc. in vastu course. A list of additional recommended books will be given to you which you can purchase from the market. EXAMINATIONS : The examinations will be conducted at the end of semester. Each course shall comprise 2 papers. It is essential to secure minimum 33% marks in each paper. Minimum 50% marks are required in aggregate. Only then students will be issued a certificate. The unsuccessful student may sit in examinations in the next semester after paying additional examination fees of Rs. 500/-. In Rishi course one has to write detailed analysis of an example problem and a thesis on comparative study of two or more texts on a given subject. It is necessary to obtain minimum 33% marks in each and minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. For Jyotish Maharshi, the viva voce examination for thesis will be conducted by an expert of that area and his decision will be final for approval of thesis. Completeness and new ideas will be the deciding factors. ATTENDANCE : Minimum 70% attendance is compulsory for appearing in the examination. In special circumstances the decision of the Chapter chairman will be final.

sually all we know about gems is that they are precious and herald good days. But what all Gems are there? How do they work for different planets? Originally gems are there for the Sun up to Ketu that is for all Navagrahas. For instance, ruby for the Sun, pearl for Moon, coral for Mars, emerald for Mercury, topaz for Jupiter, diamond for Venus, sapphire for Saturn, Gomed for Rahu and Cat’s eye for Ketu. All these gems have the power to catch and assimilate rays emanating from these planets. They become resonant with these rays and enhance flow of the rays in our body. As a matter of fact, semi gems also have resonance – that too quite close to that of genuine gems. But in absence of exact resonance, the effective result is not more than ten percent. That’s why genuine gems are preferable. How to examine gems? Even naked eyes can ensure that there is not even hair-thin fracture in a gem. Any fracture or scratch disqualifies the same. Next comes transparency and brightness, which show the class (or type) of a gem. Cutting and chiseling of any gem at certain angles is vital for a class gem. If this cutting is not at proper angles, the gem can’t gather rays. Are gems effective? Position of a planet in a particular sign decides the remedy one should adopt. For instance, if planet is situated in an airy sign, chanting of Mantras, Katha, Pooja, etc. are effective. In case a planet is in a fiery sign, Yajna, Vrata, etc. will do. But if the planet is in a watery sign, donation, immersion of certain objects, medicinal bath, etc. are result producing whereas if the planet is in an earthy sign, remedies by gems, Yantras and Tantras and Deva Darshana are effective. If Yogakaraka 20

planet is weak in a horoscope, the native should wear gems and other Yantras. Remedy by Mantras is also prescribed in this case. If fatal planet is overpowering, one should flow certain things in water or donate things. Chanting of Mantras and Deva Darshan are other good alternatives. Beware, wearing a gem in this situation will enhance power of the planet. But if Yogakarak planet is powerful, or fatal planet is feeble, then remedy is not at all required. What about gems for a particular planet? In fact, gems are prescribed to reinforce a particular planet. So, to remove ailing and failings related to a certain planet, one should wear gem of that planet. Or for that matter, gems of the planets under Dasha or Antardasha should be put on. Once again make sure that the planet must be Yogakarak in the horoscope of the native. It must not be fatal. If Ashtamesh is not Lagnesh, wearing a gem forit is not allowed. At the same time, I would say, if Yogakarak planet is weak, one must wear a gem. Are the gems really auspicious for us? Make doubly sure that certain gem will be or is benefic for you. More so in case of sapphire. At times you run into trouble just due to some shortcomings in a gem. If a sapphire is having a red tinge, it is known as killer sapphire and it can cause accident. Therefore, the best test for such precious stone is that you tie it on your hand and if you feel enthusiastic, go ahead or else look for another . But if even a fter scrutinizing two-three items you don’t get the feeling just disard the idea of wearing one for the time being.

A What about weight of a gem? Weight of a gem should be proportional to the weight of the wearer and weakness of the planet. If the planet is too feeble, one should put on a heavy gem. Normally a female should wear a gem of 3 to 5 Rattis and for males, prescribed range is 5 to 8 Rattis. Mind you, diamond is an exception. It can be lighter and even in so many pieces. Weight of a gem – one and a quarter times? Is it a must? Probably 1.25 is auspicious and three-quarters is inauspicious. But there is no hard and fast rule regarding 1.25. This is because, if a weight in one unit is 1.25, in another unit the same becomes Pauna i.e. three-quarters. For instance, a quarter less than 5 Rattis, I mean Paune 5 Rattis, is almost 4.25 carat i.e. 4.25 Rattis. And for your kind information, even Ratti is of two types – Kachchi and Pakki. Thus we can say, net weight of a gem is what really matters. And not the 1.25 factor. Is body contact necessary for a gem? Definitely. A gem must touch the body. Here again diamond is an exception. Diamond works on reflection, not on refraction. Angles of a gem should be such that it touches the finger. This applies equally to lockets. Naturally, gems should be studded like that. Let me make it clear that fingers are more effective in assimilation of rays. A gem on finger is as effective as a gem, at least double in weight, in a locket. Therefore, wearing it on finger is always advisable What about metal selection for a gem? Gold is the best metal for any gem. It is the best and most benefic for any gem prescribed for a planet. But for diamond, platinum is at top. For sapphire and Gomed, gold mixed with Panchadhaatu is most preferable. For pearl, you can use silver. For coral, it is better you go for copper mixed with gold instead of pure copper. And for ruby, emerald, topaz and cat’s eye 22 ct. gold is the best metal. Ascertaining finger and hand for any gem? Male should wear a gem in right hand whereas for female left hand is prescribed. It is advisable

to follow the rule even if a particular person is lefty i.e. works with left hand. Again, if a woman is in job or in some business like a man, she should wear gem in left hand only. For fingers, I would make it clear that little finger is for diamond and emerald; ring finger is for ruby, pearl, coral and cat’s eye; middle finger is for Neelam (Blue sapphire) and Gomed; and index finger is the best for topaz. Emerald can also be worn in ring finger and cat’s eye in little finger. When and how a particular gem should be worn? First of all, make sure that there is Shubha Muhurta i.e. auspicious moment and a powerful Moon as well. Besides, time, day and Nakshatra must be favourable for that particular gem. On an auspicious appointed time you should consecrate the gem with Gangajal and Panchamrut. Put it on with chanting of Mantras. Also show Dhoop-Deep to the gem. All this ensures enhanced benefic effect and a fall in inauspicious aspect of the planet. Now, note the days prescribed: ruby on Sunday, pearl on Monday, coral on Tuesday, emerald and cat’s eye on Wednesday, topaz on Thursday, diamond on Friday and sapphire and Gomed on Saturday. Sapphire should be worn on before Sunset and Gomed after it. For the rest, morning is prescribed. What’s the time span for wearing a gem? A gem is totally effective for 3 years. But diamonds are forever as you all know. Therefore, you must change a gem after 3 years. You can take it off for a while and again put the same after sometimes. The same gem, however, can be useful for someone else. You should take it off even if desired work is completed or if Dasha is changed. Which gems are compatible with each other? Sapphire and Gomed should not be worn with Maanik, pearl, coral and topaz. It is absolutely harmless to put on any gem along with diamond, emerald, and cat’s eye. But you must examine ruby, pearl and topaz before putting it along with diamond. How to take off a gem? Usually people don’t mind taking off a gem at any point of time. I mean

they don’t appoint any time for such an occasion. But this is not advisable. A gem must be taken off on its particular day. You should sprinkle Gangajala over it before putting it in safe custody. As a follow up action, certain objects must be donated. Omens regarding gems : In case a gem is lost or stolen, rest assured that the darker aspect of the planet is over. If a gem develops crack, it means the planet is powerful. Now, you must perform some Graha Shanti. If colour of the gem becomes pale, once again rest assured that the planet is pacified. Mythologically, origin of gems is traced to Samudramanthan i.e. churning of the sea. Importance of gems for remedy of ominous planets is particularly highliglhted in astrology. But the question is how do gems work? Is it possible that some imitation of gems, or for that matter a colorued piece of glass may serve purpose? To understand it, let us focus on how a radio set works. As you all know, microwaves are all pervasive in the atmosphere but to catch and transform them into sound waves, radio set has to tune on one frequency. Similarly all the waves emanating from different planets are present there in the atmosphere. And you need a certain medium to catch them. Gems do play vital role here. Yes, I mean it is the medium we are talking about. In fact, a particular gem has special attribute and power to make rays of a particular planet favourable for us. But frequency (Samaswaran) for the waves or rays changes in case of semi gems or a piece of glass of the same colour. So, then purpose of wearing it gets defeated. On the other hand, a genuine gem catches of the same colour and focuses rays on wearer’s organ and eventually those rays flow through the body. That’s why a ring is designed so that the gems studded in it are constantly in touch with your body. Biologically speaking, nerve controls (Snaayu Niyantrana) from different fingers reach different parts of our brain. Naturally, each control has a particular impact. This, in fact, is the reason why 22

a particular gem is being put on a particular finger. It is also known that rays of a certain planet reach a certain part of our brain and accordingly relationship between a finger and a particular planet is ascertained. With such a knowledge base, various rules are prescribed for wearing gems. Normally gems are worn according to: 1.Birth Sign or Nakshatra, 2.Sun Sign 3. Dasha-Antardasha, Benevolent planet according to horoscope, 5. Malefic planet according to horoscope, 6. Birth-day, 7. Moolaank, Bhagyaank, or Namaank, 8. Lines on hand, and 9. Necessity or according to significance of gems. But if we conform to all the methods, then practically we have to cover our fingers with all the gems. On the other hand if we choose a common gem, prescribed by various methods, our fingers would remain without one. I mean one can’t find a common gem having all attributes. Therefore, we should go for a method that is ‘optimize for sure’. We should put on gems according to necessity – precisely for benefic planets of our horoscope. Lords of benefic houses or planets posited in those houses are benevolent for us. Now, we can mathematically arrive at a formula to ascertain whether a particular planet is benevolent or not: House

First of all add up the number, a particular planet is the lord of, to the number of the house the planet is sitting in. In case the planet is the lord of the same house, multiply by 2 and then add. If result is 7 or more, the planet is benefic or else malefic. For an example, if the Sun is in 4th house of a Leo horoscope then according to the above table the Sun got a number 3 in 4th house and as it is Lagnesh so it got 5. This way total number of the Sun is calculated as 5 x 2 + 3 = 13 i.e. a benefic planet. Similarly if Saturn is in 4th house, it will have a number 3 from 4th house; a number 2 from Saptamesh and a number 1 from Shashtesh. Finally, total number obtained is 3 + 2 + 1 = 6 i.e. malefic.

Again, if force of the planet is less, weight of the gem should be more so that it can reinforce the planet. We can formulate an equation for the whole process. This way if after dividing the planet by Shadbala the planet is strong, the weight of the gem decreases and conversely if the planet is weak, weight of the gem has to be increased. Now, the weight arrived at after applying the above equation should be converted into one and a quarter i.e. 1.25. For instance, if calculation works out to 6.5 Ratti, the native should wear a 7.25 Ratti gem. Once the gem and its weight are ascertained, a native should get it studded in a suitable metal and then wear in the finger specified in the table given in the end: But in case the planet is situated in a friendly sign, not in own sign, then the gem can be put on the finger of the former – I mean friendly sign. For example, if Venus is in the house of Saturn, the desired result can be obtained by putting the gem in finger for Saturn. The gem ascertained for a particular benefic planet should be worn in the Dasha of the same planet or of its friendlydasha. Again, if a planet is malefic, or benefic for that matter, but if there is no friendly-dasha, then its gem should not be worn. It may be harmful to wear a gem only according to Dasha. Remember, even if you put on a gem according to necessity such as gem of Saptamesh for marriage, Chathurthesh or Panchamesha for studies, gem of Lagnesh for health, you should do so after considering benevolence of the planet and after examining benefic relation with Dashaanaatha. r

strology is definitely a great science which can tell about the child's future as soon as he is born. No other science can say so much in advance as astrology. Doctor can tell about a disease when it has occured whereas astrology can tell in advance that the native is prone to such kind of disease and he should take precautions for it.

Astrology can be used very well to know if the person should do business or should go for service. It can tell the direction in which one should work. This can save time and resources in this competitive world can help you apply your energy in the right direction.

In the so called scientific world it is even more required when there is lot of competition and man has to plan his actions before hand. In old days King always used to keep astrologyers to know in advance about monsoon, agriculture and thus finance. They also cousulted astrologers for war and any major decisions.

That astrology can predict in advnace, is proved well in my life also by the fact that my grand father wrote about my future when I was only six days old. He wrote at that time that I will have only male children and that came true perfectly. Which science can tell so much in advance like this. Can medical science say? People go for ultrasound to know the sex of the child and there too they get incorrect results so many times.

In astrology there are thousands of combinations which tell as about the nature of the person. Mars and Venus combination makes a person character doubtful. Similarlarly Jupiter, Mercury combination makes him highly intellectual. Cruel planets in the fourth take away the peace at home and make him detatched from the world and Rahu in 9th makes disrupted sanyas yoga. Jupiter in ascendant gives a person great self respect and the same in seventh gives disturbance in married life. Saturn in 10th makes the person hardworking until the last breath.

It is hypocracy only that people do not agree or accept astrology. One will not marry his daughter in Pitrapaksh. One would like to enter a new house or new business at an auspicious time only. One would like to write his nominiaton at a good time. One would like to go for a number lucky to him. One would like to start name of a company or a film by a character suitable to him. Everybody is using this divine science in some way or the other in his life, yet they are shy of accepting the truth and they say it is all unscientific and do not agree.

The subjects like numerology, palmistry, astrology or vastu are always beneficial. These do not create problem for the society. This is the reason they have survied thousands of years even without external support.

ancer, the dreaded term for malignant growths and lumps, seems to be of unusually common occurrence in recent times. More people than ever before seem to be struck by the disease, which carries with it a near pall of death, if not checked in the initial stage.

Saturn, Moon and Dusthanas 6th, 8th and 12th seem to figure prominently in the charts of cancer patients. This maiming, or disfiguration of the body, relates the Ascendant, or its lord to the 6th, 8th and 12th houses, or their lords. These Dusthanas rule such traumatic situations, or events, that would change the entire course of one’s life. Many who had to suffer from cancer, their lives changed overnight from laughter and sunshine to gloom. Saturn, which characterises all that hardens, hinders, depletes and suppresses, would seem to be the best fitted planet to be associated with cancer. It would also explain very well the mental anguish and depression, that follow the biopsy, confirming the malignant nature of lump, or growth. The Moon, ruling the mind and also all the excretions in the body system, would also fit well in this context. All lumps and tumours are nothing but the accumulations of secretions, that have been clogged, or otherwise prevented from normal movement. A study of several charts of cancer patients has shown a link between MOON AND SATRUN. This link is found in the Navmasha chart. This does not necessarily mean that all charts where 26

the Moon and Saturn are correlated are cases of cancer. But the majority of cancer cases have the Moon-Saturn disposition. If Moon is afflicted by Saturn in Navamasha chart through posting, aspect, or conjunction, it indicates the disease of cancer. More important, Dashas or directional influences must also warrant the disease of cancer Now, I will discuss the various case studies of the natives who have suffered from cancer, to prove the combination of Saturn and Moon, a combination responsible for the disease of cancer. Debilitated Planetis No Problem Sharad Tripathi, Kanpur Chapter

n general, debilitated planets are considered as 'First Rate Malefics' and also a benefic planet. If debilitated, the planet is supposed to harm those planets and houses it is joined with, or aspects. Debilitated planets are also supposed to ruin and destroy those things which they rule, or fall in their houses, Navamanshas and Nakshtra. Obviously if in the horoscope of any individual, any planet is found to be placed in a debilitated position, the native becomes very apprehensive of it's outcome. Therefore, there is a need to understand the condition, or combinations which actually reduce the ill effects of a debilitated planet and form Neech Bhang Raj Yoga. While in Western astrology there is nothing like Neech Bhang Raj Yoga, in Hindu astrology such Yogas have their own importance and their influence on a native and his life is always felt. In this article, few such Yogas are discussed for the benefit of all those who believe in Hindu astrology. Mantreshwar, in his famous treatise Phaldeepika writes:

In this case even if rising sign is not a moveable one, but if it's lord is posited in a moveable sign, or Navamansha, the debilitation of cancellation takes place and strong Raj Yoga is formed. The readers will find that this rule also applies fully in the horoscope of Bill Clinton, the former president of USA. In his horoscope, Venus is debilitated, but lord of this debilitated sign is in a moveable sign (i.e. Cancer) from the Navamansha. It will also be observed that debilitated Venus is in Gemini Navamansha, lord of which is Mercury, that is placed in a moveable sign, which is again fourth from Moon, ie. an angle from Moon . So debilitation of Venus stands cancelled and a strong Raj Yoga is formed. While in various works of Hindu astrology, a number of Neech Bhang Raj Yogas have been mentioned by the scholars of different times, to sum them up in a short article like this, it may be concluded thus : 1. A debilitated planet aspecting another debilitated planet. 2. If a debilitated planet aspecting in any of second, third, fourth, ninth, tenth and eleventh houses. 3. If a debilitated Navamansha.

antra is a Sanskrit word, which means “Kavach”, or talisman. They are engraved and designed in geometrical and mathematical formations. These are prepared by knowledgeable person and under proper guidance. All geometrical designs, or symbols are sacred and represent Gods. Yantras are usually drawn on metals, such as gold, silver, bronze, copper and sometimes on paper also. Yantras will fulfil your desires and help in attaining your goals and ambitions, success in profession, or business, acquiring wealth, victory in court cases, ward off diseases. These Yantras are energised in a specified manner. Yantras energized during the nights of Maha Shiva Ratri, Holi and Diwali are most effective and powerful. How to energize Yantra : Yantra, which one has to install, should first be soaked in milk for one hour. After this, takeout the Yantra and dip it in Panchamrit (this is a mixture of milk,curd, honey,sugar powder and little bit of butter/ghee). Take out after a minute and wash it 4-5 times with holy water, or fresh water. Now bathe it in the smoke of incense and camphor. Place white/red/yellow cloth in the place where it is to be installed. This Jap should be done daily to get best result. Surya Yantra - For good health : Sun is regarded as most powerful of all planets 34

and is the master of many activities in human life. Sun gives good health, energy and success to mankind. Surya Yantra is ideal, if Sun is weak in horoscope.
