Yogas for Indian Administrative Service

It is the desire of every candidate to get selected in the Indian Administrative Services. Lakhs of candidates study day and night for many years to succeed in examinations. Even after that, when not able to succeed, candidates feel very disappointed. They also visit astrologers to know their future. Astrologers also have a desire to know the exact combination so that they can give the correct answer to the person. So let’s study the exact astrological combination for administrative services.

Indian Administrative Service :-

Administrative service is the highest service in India. In this service, the person gets all the three- respect, power and money. If someone gets this type of service then definitely his ascendant and ascendant lord must be strong. So the first step is to check the ascendant and see whether it is weak or not. The Ascendant's lord must not be debilitated, in an enemy sign or in a trik house. Along with this, the debilitated planets or the lord of the trik house must not be in the ascendant.

After that Sun and Moon which are Rajasik planets should be considered. Sun is considered as the king and Moon is considered as the queen in astrology. Administrative service is also a kind of royal service. Therefore, administrative service is affected by Sun and Moon. Both Sun and Moon should be associated with Karma Bhava i.e. the tenth house with the ascendant. If not so, then the native cannot be successful in administrative service.

Apart from this, the role of Venus is also very important in administrative service. If the aspect of Venus is related to Sun, Moon or the ninth and the tenth house, then the native remains in administrative service. The reason is very simple – the person working in the administrative service lives a life full of comfort and luxury. Living in a luxury house, facility of cars and servants etc. is easily provided in this service. All arrangements are available on his single order. Therefore, the role of Venus is important in this service.

Apart from this, it is a Royal service therefore, Sun's role is important in this service. Sun becomes strong with the aspect of Jupiter or the influence of Jupiter. Hence the aspect of Jupiter on Sun or the association of Jupiter with Sun assumes a special role in this service. Sun should be with Jupiter but Jupiter should not be deep combust. For this, Jupiter must be about 5 degrees away from Sun.

IAS

If the distance increases, the native becomes less powerful. In case, Jupiter is behind Sun, there is a decrease in the power. Aspect of Jupiter on Sun also gives similar results. This aspect also works with the same power. Aspect should be considered according to the planet degrees and not according to the Lagna chart.

For example, if Jupiter is 28 degrees in Taurus and Sun is 2 degrees in Libra, then according to the Lagna chart, Jupiter is not aspecting Sun, but according to the degrees, it has complete aspect and the results are also obtained fully well.

Jupiter's association with both Sun and the tenth house plays an important role in rendering administrative services. In this way, Sun, Moon, Venus and Jupiter play an important role in providing administrative service.

If we consider the houses, then the tenth house, which is also the karma bhava, is definitely the main house for the service. Nothing happens without luck. Honour, respect, money are all obtained by luck. Therefore, the role of the house of luck i.e. the ninth house is equally important. Its association with the tenth house shows that the person will be in a big position or business.

Similarly, the role of the eighth house, which is the benefic house of the tenth, is very important in getting a high position. If the eighth house is associated with the tenth house, then the person is established in a big position.

The following points can be considered for whether the eighth house or the ninth house is associated to the tenth house or not.

1. There should be a change of house in the house of sub lord.

2. Sub lords of houses are together.

3. The sub lords of the houses aspect each other or the sub lord of one aspects the other.

12 | Jan.-Mar. 2023
From The Editor's Desk
Dr. Arun Bansal

4. The sub lord of one house is in the other house. Apart from the above planets and houses, Rahu and Ketu, which are called karmic control planets, also have an important role in providing opportunities for administrative service. They are capable of giving auspicious or inauspicious results according to the deeds of our previous births. Where RahuKetu are sitting, the lord of those houses play the role of a controlling planet. If these karmic planets are associated to 8th, 9th or 10th house, or with Sun, Moon or Venus, then native can get the opportunity of serving in administrative service.

Overall, the following combination are helpful for getting administrative service:-

1. The eighth, ninth and tenth houses should be associated with each other.

2. Venus should be associated with eighth, ninth or tenth house.

3. Sun and Moon should be associated with eighth, ninth, tenth and Venus.

4. The karmic planets should be associated with eighth, tenth and Venus.

5. If Jupiter is associated with Sun, it is desired the degree of Jupiter should be approximately equal to the degree of Sun, be it in conjunction or in aspect.

Let us see for example how these combinations are able to get the post of administrative service.

3. Sun is in the ninth house and Moon is in the tenth house, the eighth lord is aspecting the Sun. Venus is with the Sun. Thus Sun and Moon are associated to eighth, ninth, tenth and Venus.

4. House Lord of Rahu i.e. Karmic planet is Venus, which is associated to all the three houses, eighth, ninth and tenth.

5. Jupiter's aspect is on Sun and Jupiter is of 29° and Sun is of 18°21'. Jupiter 's degree are more than that of the Sun.

In this way it can be seen that the above yogas are fully capable of providing administrative service. But sometimes one or two yogas may click partially only.

Allied Services:

Income Tax Services:- Jupiter is important for revenue services as it is related to property. Also, the twelfth house is necessary because it is related to raids etc. Since the sixth house is related to the court, it is also necessary. In this way, it is mandatory for revenue services to have association of the trik houses with the ninth and the tenth houses.

Audit Services: For this, the association of Mercury and Jupiter with the ninth and the tenth house or lord of the house, is necessary.

Police Services: Mars is the significator of police, so association of Mars with the ninth and the tenth house is necessary. Along with this, sixth house, the significator of court should also be associated with them.

Sun Aries 18°:21'

Moon Taurus 16°:22'

Mars Gemini 5°:16'

Mer. Aries 24°:8'

Jupiter Leo 29°:00'

Venus Aries 22°:59'

Saturn Scorpio 19°:51'

Rahu Libra 26°:19'

Ketu Aries 26°:19'

This person was be employed in administrative service.

1. Lord of Tenth house is placed in the ninth house. Lord of Eighth house is aspecting the ninth house. Thus eighth, ninth & tenth are associated to each other.

2. Venus being the tenth lord is situated in the ninth house and is aspected by the eighth lord. Thus Venus is associated to the eighth, ninth and tenth house.

Forest Services: Sun is the significator of forest, wood etc. and Saturn is the significator of Earth, Mars is the significator of land, so for forest services it is necessary to have association of Sun, Saturn and Mars from the ninth and the tenth house.

Rail services: Saturn is the significator of iron and Venus is the significator of vehicle etc. Therefore, if the main association of Saturn and Venus is with the ninth and the tenth house, then you will get a job in the railway services.

Information Services: It is also necessary to have an association between the third house, Jupiter and Mercury.

The above formulas can prove to be excellent in making predictions about Indian Administrative Services. It has definitely been seen that those who are engaged in administrative service, these yogas are fully present in their horoscopes, but those who are not serving in it and are on other high posts; even then these yogas can be present in their horoscopes.

Which Rudraksha is best for Students?

Rudraksha, also known as tears of Lord Shiva, is worn to enhance spiritual growth and its curative properties helps in maintaining physical and mental balance of an individual and acts as shield against negative energies.

Rudraksha helps you create an aura of your own making you feel mentally secure like a butterfly in its cocoon. With the increasing burden of education students have started feeling it difficult to cope up with studies and stay calm at the same time. Sometimes, though giving their best they cannot achieve good grades and this brings down their morale. One of the astrological remedies to this, is the usage of right beads of Rudraksha.

• The best Rudraksha for students is 4 mukhi, 6 mukhi and Ganesh Rudraksha.

• Four mukhi has four lines from head to base. It is known for its relationship with divinity of Brahma. Brahma is a four headed Lord known for its ingenious and inventive brainpower and hence it helps students to take creative approaches in finding solutions to their problems in studies. It widens the perspective of sensibility and basic reasoning.

• Wearing a mala of 11 beads of 4 mukhi Rudraksha can help students in being active and get rid of idleness and negligence.

• Six Mukhi Rudraksha is the power cell of the intelligent son of Lord Shiva Kaartikey. It increases the determination, sagacity, and grasping capacity. It also prevents the malefic effects of Venus.

• Combination of three Rudraksha beads, one of Ganesha Rudraksha, one of four mukhi and six mukhi can be very beneficial for students who are not being able to score good even after

trying their best.

• For the students of the age group of 6 to 16, I advise to wear the combination called 'Saraswati Bandh' which includes two beads of 4 mukhi and one bead of 6 mukhi. This is the best combination for improving concentration and consistency in studies. It also brings you both luck and confidence.

• Students who are nervous, anxious and have issues of wavering thoughts should also try wearing Panchmukhi Rudraksha.

• It is advisable for students to wear any Rudraksha beads in red thread. I would also suggest you condition your Rudraksha beads, by immersing it in pure ghee for 24 hours and full fat milk for 24 hours before wearing it.

Which is the best Rudraksha for acquiring wealth?

Rudraksha beads emit different frequencies and attract different energies as per their Mukh. Mukh corresponds with particular deity, planet and work on balancing the Chakra to provide specific benefits. People face problems due to lack of opportunities, lack of fortune and lack of courage to take risks.

Wearing Rudraksha can help in clearing these hurdles from the path connecting you and wealth. From all the astrological remedies to acquire wealth and financial prosperity, wearing the correct combination of Rudraksha is one of the easiest and most efficient one.

RESEARCH JOURNAL review 18 | Jan.-Mar. 2023

• 13 mukhi : This helps one to take timely actions in making deals, it also aligns the desire of wealth with the right Chakra and cuts out the Illusions surrounding the clear path towards wealth. It attracts suitable people to your life who are likely to bring you fortune in terms of money.

• 21 mukhi : Rudraksha to attract wealth as it shares a direct relationship with Lord Kuber, master of treasury; it prevents you from losing fortune and brings you all the extravagance of life.

• 7 mukhi : Goddess Laxmi, the distributor of wealth resides in seven faced Rudraksha. I advise you to wear this

Rudraksha on Monday before sunrise to give more effective results.

• There are certain combinations which have proved to be more effective like 7 mukhi, 9 mukhi, 13 mukhi and 15 mukhi.

• 19 mukhi : Rudraksha representing Lord Narayan, the supreme of all Gods is very fruitful to attract immense wealth, if worn on a regular basis.

• 18 Mukhi : This powerful bead is very helpful to increase luck pertaining to land dealings. It carries blessings of Divine Mother Earth. The bead also paves way for success in business and helps acquire immense wealth and prosperity.

Ketu's Effect in the Year 2023

In Hindu astrology Ketu represents karmic collections both good and bad, spirituality and supernatural influences. Ketu signifies the spiritual process of the refinement of materialisation to the spirit and is considered both malefic and benefic, as it causes sorrow and loss, and yet at the same time turns the individual to God. In other words, it causes material loss in order to force a more spiritual outlook in the person. Ketu is a karaka or indicator of intelligence, wisdom, non-attachment, fantasy, penetrating insight, derangement, and psychic abilities.

Ketu is believed to bring prosperity to the devotee's family, removes the effects of snakebite and illness arising out of poisons. He grants good health, wealth and cattle to his devotees. Ketu is the lord of three nakshatras or lunar mansions: Ashvini, Magha and Mula. Ketu is considered responsible for moksha, sannyasa, self-realization, gnana, a wavering nature, restlessness, the endocrine system and slender physique. The people who come under the influence of Ketu can achieve great heights, most of them spiritual.

Ruler of Ketu: According to the most popular astrology text Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, (BPHS) Ketu is related to Matsya.

Exaltation and Debilitation:

This has been a debatable point in astrology. As per BPHS Ketu is exalted in the sign of Scorpio and debilitated in Taurus. However, many astrologers have disputed this and most modern astrologers now seem to agree that Ketu is exalted in Sagittarius and debilitated in Gemini[citation needed]. This stands to logic as Ketu is a torso and a prominent part of Sagittarius is a big horse torso attached to a male upper body.

Negative Significations:

While Ketu is considered malefic and has been mostly associated with negative

things. Most people consider it a difficult planet as it brings lot of troubles on the material plane. It often brings a sense of complete detachment, losses, mindlessness, wandering, and confusion in one's life.

Positive Significations:

There is a much deeper side to Ketu and it has been called the most spiritual of all planets. Ketu has been considered the planet of enlightenment and liberation. Ketu is the one who has “lost his head (worldly senses)” and being a personification of renunciation (torso without a head who needs nothing).

RESEARCH JOURNAL review 20 | Jan.-Mar. 2023

Ketu is the ascetic that wants to go beyond the mundane life and achieve the final liberation.

Friendly Planets:

Ketu is a friend of Mercury, Venus, and Saturn. Jupiter is neutral in friendship. Sun, Moon, and Mars are Ketu's enemies.

Year 2023 and Ketu (2+0+2+3 = 7)

The New Year 2023 begins with Ketu placed in the air sign of Libra in Swati nakshatra. Ketu is denoted with the number 7 and Libra is the 7th sign of Zodiac, so the year 2023 will be highly influenced by Ketu energy.

Ketu’s story

When Mount Mandara & divine serpent Vasuki were used to churn the ocean, Amrit was found. A demon named Svarbhanu drank some of it by treachery & became immortal. This act irked Lord Vishnu and he cut the demon in 2 halves. The head part became the North Node or Rahu & the body without head came to be South Node or Ketu.

Ketu works Beyond the Mind

Ketu is symbolized as a headless serpent & is then given a new head, which is sometimes that of the entire cosmos. As such Ketu is connected to deities who have their head cut off and replaced, like Lord Ganesha, who is given the head of an elephant or the Goddess Chhinnamasta who drinks her own blood with her severed head that she carries in her hands. Such harsh symbols reflect transcendence of physical reality.

Ketu gives inner powers of knowing, to see without an eye, hear without an ear, or breathe without the nose. Ketu is the indicator of great Yogis and Sages at the highest level, including the opening of the third eye and crown chakras. Yet at a lower collective level Ketu indicates the forces of conflicting beliefs and values that lead to violence and conflict, stirring powerful

subconscious emotions.

How Ketu works: Detachment and Liberation

Without a head, Ketu has no interest in striving and setting a direction. He personifies fatigue from the meaningless pursuit of achievements, he is not interested in the pleasures derived from temporary things, Ketu's only desire is to get out of the cycle of births and deaths.

Ketu is moksha karaka. Its function is to carry moods of detachment & liberation. He is an ascetic hermit whose sole purpose is to lead us to the exit from Samsara. Since he has no head, it is impossible to comprehend him with the mind, with the rational part. He works through intuition, insights in meditation. Ketu ignites the spiritual aspect in us. Ketu is also the main connection between our present & past life. It tells us about the lessons we have already learnt in our past life. The clearer our perception becomes, the more clearly we see the manifestations of both Ketu and Rahu, and the less we are affected by them.

What to watch out for in 2023:

2023 will be full of new beginnings. It can be a compelling force to let go of the old habits, people or work that you have been holding on to for too long, knowing it’s not worth it. Suddenly now you will be ready to let it all go and allow the new to come in.

Ketu being in Libra, will be a good time for start-ups & online businesses will flourish. Media houses will do really well.

Since it’s association is with the Air sign Libra, watch out for health issues related to virals, cold & cough. Ketu in air sign is an indication of rise in air borne diseases especially in the first half of the year.

This year will also be a year of pleasant surprises and unexpected travels.

When does Saturn give Good Results?

Traditionally, Saturn is considered a "problematic" planet, bringing illness, karmic trials, poverty, barriers and deprivation. But this is only one side since the influence of Saturn on a person can be very spiritual, progressive, generous and gracious!

Saturn in the 1st house

This house shows the personality and the physical body. Saturn gives spiritual people, with a craving for everything unknown. It represent esoteric, secretive and mysterious people. It also indicates a lean physique by nature.

Saturn in the 2nd house

It is corrupted when malefic planets are in it. This position of Saturn indicates great difficulty and labour to earn money, problems with science (education) and family life is also difficult.

But for longevity, the situation is good. There is a high probability of moving to another city/country in adulthood.

Saturn in the 3rd house

This is the house of Upachai, malefic Saturn here makes a person persistent, purposeful, resolute but spoils relations with younger brothers.

Saturn in the 4th house

The influence of Saturn on a person in the 4th house gives a strict, serious mother, as well as a feeling of despondency.

But here the quality of the planet itself is very important (strong or weak, retrograde or not, in which sign it is).

Saturn in the 5th house

It delay & child birth and is not good for love, affair.

If Saturn is in exalted sign (Libra), then a gifted kid (usually a boy) is born.

Saturn in the fall - a strong despondency in life, periods of depression, destructive emotions, unrequited love.

Saturn in the 6th house

It provides stability to avoid adversaries and infections, and with a period (during moral work) it enhances even more.

Saturn in the 7th house

Saturn, for a happy married life, requires compliance with family responsibilities & fidelity to the partner.

It can give marriage or romance with a

person much older in age.

Saturn in the 8th house

It indicates a long life & gives "Saturnian" qualities - punctuality, practicality, earthiness.

A person can have a gloomy character, a penchant for mysticism, a closed & solitary life.

Saturn in the 9th house

It gives compassionate people who love solitude, have a craving for philosophy, politics, religion & know how to take care of others.

There may be frequent disputes with the father or superiors.

Saturn in the 10th house

These are stubborn, persistent people, if the planet is strong, then these are good leaders of firms and companies in which business flourishes.

If Saturn is weak, then these are patient workers for hire.

Saturn in the 11th house

Saturn here indicates strong-willed & stubborn people.

They have talents for working with technology, publishing, agriculture, and working with metals.

Saturn in the 12th house

They are responsible people, but with a restless, nervous character, with frequent bouts of despondency and pessimism.

It indicates an interest in yoga, qigong, spiritual practices, philosophy & a craving for solitude.

It can also give problems with teeth & difficulties in relationships with people.

Influence of Saturn in signs

discipline for great achievements.

Taurus (Number 2) - Saturn feels good, gives mundane interests, a love of physical labour, a realistic way of thinking, great practicality and perseverance, but also slowness, busting with caution.

Gemini (Number 3) - This is ruled by Saturnfriendly Mercury so, he is in comfort.

This position gives seriousness, worldly wisdom, a good memory, the ability to apply information & to defend one's point of view.

Cancer(Number 4) - Saturn does not feel very good, therefore it gives suspicious, jealous people, a restless mind, dependence on the opinions of others, prudence & children's problems.

Leo (Number 5 ) - The influence of Saturn on a person in the sign of Leo is not easy. It gives eternal confrontation with other people, dissatisfaction, ardour, irascibility & hesitation on various issues.

Virgo (Number 6) - It is a friendly sign, so Saturn gives organizational skills, insight, foresight, but also melancholy & excessive meticulousness.

diplomatic talents, secrecy, respect for other people & a restless mind.

What will Saturn retrograde tell in the natal chart?

To make the most of the period of Saturn retrograde, you need to know the following.

First, Saturn retrograde is about responsibility, perseverance, restraint, following the rules, seriousness and control. At this time it is favourable to:

- take on what you have been putting off for a long time and bring it to the end;

- review your plans and adjust them;

- summarize;

- think through everything to the smallest detail before taking on a new business.

Secondly, be prepared for the fact that you will be thrown from one extreme to another, so try to analyze your behaviour and stop attempts to shoulder all the worries of the world in time, as well as the desire for pessimism, maximum severity, limiting yourself in everything (up to asceticism). Pay attention to your emotions - perhaps you have completely forgotten how to rejoice? Saturn will not approve of this!

Third, pay attention to your health. Problems can be associated with the exhaustion of the body, so soberly assess your capabilities and do not overdo it with work and stress.

Severe, karmic & ruthless Saturn

His position on the chart is usually paid close attention to.

Despite the destructive aspect and severity of Saturn, it has very auspicious manifestations. They give high spirituality, a sense of justice, seriousness and responsibility, the ability to work hard and well.

Saturn conjunctions in the natal chart: "Tell me who your friend is..."

Saturn + Sun- Cold, ascetic Saturn bears so

little resemblance to the bright, regal Sun, and therefore their conjunction cannot be called good. Here Saturn, before “allowing” a person success and authority, will test him in every possible way, make him work hard, be disciplined, even to the point of mental and physical overstrain and depression. Such a combination in the 2nd house promises a late marriage, in the 7th house - a disharmony in marriage, breakup on divorce. There is a high probability of a bad relationship with the father, hereditary diseases and late success.

Saturn + Moon- Another "unfriendly" combination, giving on one hand emotional instability and on the other hand, pain or a troubled life filled with various events and not always positive. Especially if this connection is located in the 1st or 9th house. The 7th gives an unsuccessful marriage or extramarital affairs throughout life.

Saturn + Mercury- Here, Saturnian energy will extend its influence to finances and learning abilities. Saturn makes fast and cunning Mercury more responsible, slows down academic progress, gives slow-wittedness, achieving goals:- but in stages, without luck. Such a combination in the 1st house indicates a truth-seeker and a desire to help other people. In the 2nd house - restlessness & impatience. In the 8th and 10th houses, this combination is unfavourable.

Saturn + Mars- Another conjunction of Saturn in the natal chart gives a conflict of energies. The cold "old man" and the hot, warlike Mars do not understand and cannot stand each other. On one hand, there is an expectation and on the other, there is action! In the 1st house, such a combination indicates difficulties in career, an explosive temperament. In the 2nd and 3rd houses it gives a difficult life filled with obstacles. The 7th house gives "explosions" in marriage, conflicts, troubles and, as a result, a separate life. This combination is most favourable to have in the 10th or 11th house as here it is the

RESEARCH JOURNAL review 24 | Jan.-Mar. 2023

least destructive and even promises success. Saturn + Jupiter- Finally, the connection of two "friends"! Like a meeting of two spiritual people - an ascetic and a Guru. This combination is considered auspicious, giving good luck on the right path, achievements, fame and wealth. Especially if located in the 1st, 8th, 10th, 11th or 12th houses. Often indicates karmic rewards from a past life, wealth acquired honestly and noble deeds. Saturn + Venus - Here, a strict ascetic will “intervene” in love and romance, bring order to intimate relationships, and cool passions. This means that such conjunction of Saturn in the natal chart will give a rational marriage, not hasty, deliberate, although perhaps late. In the 1st house it can also indicate remarriage, in the 4th it gives extramarital affairs. If the combination is in a good sign, then this is a sign of a faithful and happy

family that brings success to each partner.

Saturn + Rahu - An ambiguous combination that gives a person endurance, efficiency, but also emotional dryness, even cruelty and detachment, which are inherent in fanatics and politicians. It is as if the past (Saturn) and the future (Rahu) have united here, each of which does not develop a person, but only promises development or gives memories of it. In most houses, this combination indicates difficulties at first and "relaxation" later, but also a tempered character.

Saturn + Ketu - A depressive but deeply spiritual conjunction of Saturn in the natal chart indicates a fatalist, melancholic, "truth seeker" who necessarily comes to spirituality. In all houses, it indicates a fatalistic attitude, “well, it happened - and okay!”, A tendency to conservatism, traditions & laziness. r

CLuSTERS AND GEODES

• A Geode is a rounded, hollow void in sedimentary or volcanic rock filled with crystals and other minerals.

• A Geode is large in size and also expensive to buy.

• Its main advantage is that it not only breathtaking to look at but its energy is so sharp and intense that it can energise an entire huge room.

• Geodes are powerful energy transmitters and are best used in a large enclosed space like a performing centre, an office, a healing space, an educational institution reception area etc.

Clusters are also slightly large in size and are best used when kept in designated directions in a room ( prescribed as per the suitable directional guidance of Feng Shui or Vastu Shastra).

• Cluster can also be kept on body part that needs healing.

• Carnelian cluster kept on lower abdomen helps in menstrual cramps and if expecting in easier natural delivery.

• Sunstone cluster on forehead helps to provide relief in migraines and intense headaches

• Amethyst cluster helps to remove negativity from aura and increases psychic abilities.

Gem Stone Remedies: A Scriptural Enquiry

Vedic Astrology aims at reading the karmic path of the soul. Individuals can know the fruits and hurdles they are going to face in this life based on their past life’s karma. It does not make a significant difference if the native shall not change in his or her karmic pattern after consulting an astrologer.

Vedic Astrology is primarily based on remedies like Puja (Worship) and Dana (Donation). Therefore, Vedic worships are performed and affordable donation is given to Brahmins to get rid of problems. Classical works of Vedic Astrology like Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra focuses on various rituals as remedies to various Doshas (Planetary Afflictions) as seen from the planetary placement in the natal chart. But recent classical works of 14th century like Phala Deepika, Jataka Parijata have focused on the Gem Stones as remedies to planetary afflictions. Besides, 6th Century astronomer Varaha Mihira in his Brihat Samhita dedicated Chapter 81 t0 83 for the explanation of four Gem Stones i.e., Diamond, Ruby, Pearl and Emerald. Possibly these are the major Gem Stones used in the era of Vikramaditya. Later on, during Moghul invasion certain other Gem Stones penetrated India from Persia (Present day Middle East). Therefore the concept of Navaratna (Nine Gem Stones) for nine planets was mentioned in later classical literature like Phala Deepika and Jataka Parijata. This piece of research aims to clear out myths and present scriptural evidences favouring use of Gem Stones as astrological remedies.

Varaha Mihira (505 CE – 587 CE), one of the pioneers of Indian astronomy, is the first to write about the use of Gem Stones. Varaha Mihira has not used any sort of planetary analogy between Gem Stones and planets in his Brihat Samhita. However, in his Brihat Jataka, Chapter 2, Sloka 5, the colours of the seven planets are mentioned. He focused on the typology, quality and valuation of Gem Stones in his Brihat Samhita. The Brihat Samhita, Chapter 80, Sloka 1, Ratna Parikhya, (Examination of Gems) says jRusu 'kqHksu 'kqHka Hkofr u`ik.kkefu"Ve'kqHksu A

In subsequent Slokas Varaha Mihira clarifies Gem Stones are the bones of Demon Bala and Sage Dadheechi. The Gem Stones are existent in the earth. The genesis of the Gem Stones from the bones explains the process

of fossilization which was known to the ancients of India. Varaha Mihira described 22 different types of Gem Stones i.e., Diamond, Sapphire, Emerald, Agate, Ruby, Blood-Stone, Beryl, Amethyst, Vimalaka, Quartz, Crystal, Moon-stone, Saugandhika, Opal, Conch-Shell, Azure-Stone, Topaz, Brahmamani, Jyotirasa, Sasyaka, Peral and Coral (Brihat Samhita, Chapter 80, Sloka 4 &5). Many stones described by Varaha Mihira like Brahma Mani, Jyotirasa etc. are not clear for modern day astrologers. Even the uses of all these 22 Gem Stones are not mentioned in the Brihat Samhita. But Varaha Mihira specifically described about Diamond, Ruby, Pearls and Emerald. According to him Ruby cures diseases and poison attack and bring rainfall to the king who wears it. (Brihat Samhita, Chapter 82, Sloka 6). All superior quality Pearls make the wearer wise, wealthy, happy and renowned, free from diseases and grief (Brihat Samhita, Chapter 81, Sloka 30). Emeralds are of the colour of parrot and bring prosperity for the wearer (Brihat Samhita, Chapter 83, Sloka 1). Diamonds found in the banks of the river Vena are white, those found in Awadh (a region in modern UP) are yellow, Saurastrian (peninsular region of modern Gujarat) are of copper colour (Brihat Samhita, Chapter 80, Sloka 6). He recommended that the Kshatriya shall wear Red or Yellow Diamond, the Brahmins shall wear White Diamonds, Vaishya should wear light Yellow Diamond and Sudra should wear Black Diamond (Brihat Samhita, Chapter 80, Sloka 11).

Mantreswara, who is believed to have lived during the 13th century CE, has composed Phala Deepika. His name was Markandeya Bhattathiri in a family of Namboodari Brahmins in Panchgiri village of Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. His treatise, Phala Deepika, is a lyrical Sanskrit verse that comprises 28 Chapters and 865 Slokas explaining various facets of Hindu Astrology. According to

The descriptions by Mantreswara are very clear where he has said what are the Gem Stones related to the nine planets. No where in the later chapter, the use of the Gem Stones are mentioned. Whether the Gem Stones are to be used to enhance the planetary energies of the native or can be used to avoid the planetary negativity on the native, is not at all mentioned. Consequently, astrologers use the Gem Stones in both the purposes while none of the use of the Gem Stones for the planets are mentioned in Phala Deepika. In between, Varaha Mihira and Mantreswara, two leading propagators of Hindu astrology namely, King Kalyana Verma (7th Century CE) and Bhattotpala (9th Century CE) have not mentioned about the Gems Stones for planets in their book Saravali and Prasna Gyana respectively.

Vaidyanatha Dixita in 15th century composed Jataka Parijata. Vaidyanatha admits he has referred to the work of earlier propagator of Hindu Astrology in Jataka Parijata, Chapter

to Mars. Mercury’s precious stone is the Emerald shaped like Garuda bird, Topaz belongs to Jupiter, Venus owns Diamond, Saturn’s gem is the stainless Sapphire. Agate and Lapis Lazuli are said to belong to Rahu and Ketu respectively”.

Like Mantreswara, Vaidyanatha too has not discussed the conditions where the Gem Stones prescribed for the planets can be used. Both of them have agreed that spotless Pearl is for Moon and stainless Sapphire for Saturn. It is clear that these two authors emphasised on the quality of the Gem Stones and recommended clean Gem Stones for planets. Table 1 clearly clarifies that both Phala Deepika and Jataka Parijata agreed on the same gem stones allotment for nine planets.

If the Table 1 shall be carefully analysed, then there is a significant difference in what is said in scriptures and modern-day practices. There is a terminology difference for Vaidurya. It is said to be a mount city of Vidura. In this context it refers to a stone namely Lapis-Lazuli a blue metamorphic rock which is collected from the mount city of Vidura .

Sanskrit Name

The other definition says it is Lehsunia (Commonly Known as Cat’s Eye). Some say it also Cymophane, a yellow or green opalescent variety of the Chrysoberyl group. Gomeda , as defined in the 13th Century Ayurvedic scripture, Rasa Prakasa Sudhakara, is the gem with that of colour of cow’s fat or cow’s urine. Therefore, the definition of Gomeda as Agate can be denied as the colour is black. Gomeda described in both the scriptures is alike the Hessonite used in present day. Similarly, Pusparaga means Topaz and especially clear Topaz. Yellow Topaz. Therefore, the gem stones recommended for the Jupiter is Topaz, not Yellow Topaz (Kanaka Pusparaga) neither Yellow Sapphire, as recommended widely by modern day astrologers. However, the Coral used for Mars is not mentioned whether Red or White. It is just Vidrumam or the extracts of sea plant Vidruma. Similarly, the term Nilam is not Blue Sapphire, it is just Sapphire, may be of anything. But the chemical composition should be that of Sapphire. In that case recommendation of Blue Sapphire for Saturn is also not mentioned in scriptures. Coming to emerald, it is mentioned as Garuda Shaped. The meaning is that it is like the bird Garuda (like Eagle) but it also literally means Kite-like which means the squarish Emerald is for Mercury.

The most comprehensive treatise on Gem Stones is Mani Mala composed by Raja Sourindro Mohun Tagore. The descriptions about Gem Stones, Tagore has given in his epic work is most probably the most comprehensive till date. The book is quadra-lingual and described in Sanskrit, Hindi, English and Bengali. In the Chapter Navratnani, Sloka 1, says,

“Vajra ramanikyavaiduryam muktaagomedavidrumam

Marakatam Pushparagacha Nilojhanti Yathaakramam”

“The Diamond, Ruby, Cat’s Eye, Pearl, Zircon, Coral, Emerald, Topaz and Sapphire are called the nine precious Gems”

It is clear that Sourindro Mohun Tagore clearly defines Vaidurya as Cat’s Eye while Zircon to Gomeda. But Sapphire connotes to Blue Sapphire only. There is no mention of Yellow Sapphire for Jupiter as recommended by modern day astrologers by S. M. Tagore. Similarly, Zircon’s colour is also not defined. Like the brownish Gomeda or Hessonite is used for Rahu is not verified in this scripture. In the end of the of the Chapter 1, Sourindro Mohun Tagore explained in details about the qualities of the Gem Stones. According to him, “In the widest interpretation of the term, a Gem or a precious stone is nothing but a mineral - hard, of a beautiful colour, or absolutely colourless; usually transparent, of great rarity and value. Minerals possessed of these properties have been generally divided into two classes viz. Gems perfectly pure and half-pure precious stones, coloured or tinted”. So, the gradations of the Gem Stones are done which is commonly known as Ratna and Uparatna now. Both of them are natural while one is very rare and other has less characteristics in terms of degree. S. M. Tagore, explained about theses precious stones in the first volume of Mani Mala, while in the second volume of Mani Mala explained about the semi-precious stones like Aquamarine, Onyx, Blood-Stone, Jade etc. He described the use of Gem Stones

not only in India but also in West. He cited how Gem Stones are used in the Apostle of Christianity. In sum, S. M. Tagore, doesn’t leave a single stone unturned regarding qualities and use of Gem Stones across the globe. But to the utter dismay he has not explained the planetary use of the Gem Stones like earlier authors. However, Gem Stones in jewellery, medical use, name stone, month stone etc. are mentioned.

This designation of stones is defined by Sidorus, Isidore of Seville, Spain (560 CE –636 CE) the Bishop of Seville, is said to have written a work on stones in 630 CE. These are known as Zodiacal Stones. Table 2 defines the stones as per the twelve months in a year. These stones were used as per their super natural qualities. Ruby is used as a remedy for poison attack, Amethyst dispels drunkenness, Chrysolite softens wrath, Crystals are said to dispel witchcraft etc. Certain Gem Stones have bad effect also like Opal is said to bring bad luck. Empress Eugene of France said to have suffered a lot due to Opal. However, the same Opal was seen frequently with Queen Victoria and did no harm her or even her family,

like Eugene of France. There is difference of opinions regarding the super natural qualities attached with the Gem Stones. There is another view like the Gem Stones are found from animals. Snakes, tortoises etc. were killed in mass for Gem Stones in various parts of the world. Later on, due to spread of information it was clear that Gem Stones are found from mines across globe like Ceylon, India, Brazil, Australia, South Africa etc. There are many Gem Stones or crystals out of which only nine Gem Stones are allotted to nine planets in Hindu Astrology. There is no mention for Gem Stones as per Janma Nakshatra or birth constellation. In earlier times, there were not much Gem Stones available therefore only nine gems are assigned to nine planets, not nakshatra . Therefore, it becomes a curiosity to find out why the person born in certain nakshatra can’t always wear a Gem stone of the nakshatra’s lord. Rather the lords of trines and quadrants are only evaluated for prescription of Gem Stones. The idea is to enhance the benefic planets for the native. The other query remains as Rahu and Ketu are non-luminaries so how astrological scriptures discussed here recommended Gem Stones for them. Despite, all these doubts, Gem Stones, no doubt have health enhancing qualities which cannot be denied. Crystal therapy for Chakra balancing is an example by which semiprecious stones are used to cure diseases. Besides, Crystal Grid are also kept in home for wealth, love and clear out negativity . However, even these remedies are used in India now, but it has got western origin and has no citation in astrological scriptures of Hindu Astrology. So far as Hindu Astrology is concerned, Mantreswara for the first time referred to Gem Stones which was later on re-discussed by Vaidyanatha. As the use of Gem Stones is not very clear, these are still used in a sceptic fashion among the Indian astrologers. Many support the use of Gem Stones while other negate the effect

of Gem Stones. It is now the responsibility of modern-day astrologers to find out how the Ratna and Uparatna described in the Hindu scriptures has the role on the planets. In this context, the note of renowned astrologer Dr. G.S. Kapoor, in his work “Gems and Astrology” can be quoted, “The role of Gems is to act as a filter to the vibrations of the planets”.

Yogakaraka

Why are the 1st, 5th, and 9th lords called to be Yoga Karakas particularly, if even beggars have these trine Lords in their horoscopes?

Every birth chart contains 12 houses, 12 signs, 9 planets, 27 stars, etc. All beggars have Jupiter in their charts. But, what their

RESEARCH JOURNAL review 32 | Jan.-Mar. 2023

Jupiter does? Why don't their Jupiter (or 5th house) give them wisdom in some area/ field etc? Why don't their Mercury give them intelligence in a particular field? Why don't their 9th house give them a fortune in some area? For all such kind of questions, only one thing can give the answer properly, that is, "the interconnections among houses/signs and planets", in their birth charts. This "interconnection among houses/signs and planets" is the main "mechanism" in Astrology. This "mechanism" in the birth chart, determines the potential of an individual. Any Astrologer must understand/ learn/master this main mechanism/art/ technique. Generally, Some Astrology texts concentrate more on these mechanisms.

E.g. Brighu Samhitha.

There are many types of interconnections -

1) Planet to Planet(s)

3) House to Planet(s)

2) Planet to House(s)

4) House to House(s)

In addition, we have to consider signs to planets & stars to planets interconnections.

People suffer from several types of poverties.

Physical poverty - Lifelong ill-health

Mental poverty - no mental peace/ happiness in life

Wealth poverty - no money to eat

Education poverty - illiteracy

Partnership poverty - unmarried

Children poverty - childlessness

Parents poverty - Orphan

Livelihood poverty - no job, no business, but money is constantly available to eat

House poverty-homeless, living in caves, etc.

Others - Water poverty, transport poverty, spiritual poverty, etc.

Here, we consider only wealth poverty. In beggars charts, most of the significators of good houses 1,2,5,9,10,11 or “Yoga Karaka planets” would be

- afflicted by malefic planets Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, - occupied in (significators of) malefic houses 6th, 8th, 12th, - situated in debilitation signs, - combusted - very weak strength in Rasi, Navamsa, and shadbal.

The potential/power of ascendant and its lord would be very very less. Their 9th house (fortune) and its lord does not bring any kind of fortune from previous births. The 10th house also does not support any kind of livelihood - either job or business. Mercury, the planet of education, and Jupiter would be afflicted by malefic planets in 8th, 12th houses.

Normally, we see homeless beggars wander around the streets. This happens due to 3rd and 12th houses. When 1st, 4th, 10th houses are connected to 3rd and 12th houses in a chart, then, that person becomes a homeless. In this situation, or with this kind of interconnections in the birth chart, the Yoga karaka planets - “significators of 1st, 5th, 9th″ - cannot help the native.

1st, 4th, 7th, 10th are like Vishnu sthanas or main pillars, and, 1st, 5th, 9th are like Laxmi sthanas. When Vishnu sthanas collapse, Laxmi sthanas do not support the native. Sometimes, we do see a “beggar family” wandering the streets - a male beggar, a female beggar, and their little baby beggar. It means, the beggar doesn't have marriage poverty and children poverty. He has other poverties - wealth, house, education, transport, etc.

Why would planets be weak and signify (connect with) only bad houses in beggars charts? (or)

Why a birth chart shows different types of poverties?

This is only because of “past bad karmic thoughts” and “past bad karmic deeds”. r

Lucky Number of Vehicle

When a person procures any vehicle (Two wheeler or Four wheeler) then number of vehicle plays vital role because that particular vehicle is going to remain with the owner for a fairly longer period.

To a great extent number of the particular vehicle support safe journey to the destination without any incident of accident.

At occasions we come across conversations that a particular vehicle, owner has to bear heavy repair/maintenance charges versus owner has to bear minimum expenses towards its repairs and maintenance and proved to be lucky.

In this article an effort is being made to derive the lucky number of the vehicle and while procuring it few major steps to be taken.

1. Avoid repetition of zeros like DL 19 EF 0020

Because zeros do not have any value or energy and it reduces value of numbers ahead of it

2. Avoid repetition of numbers of 4,8,and 9 Because these are accident prone numbers like

DL 19 EF 4488

DL 19 EF 9888

DL 19 EF 9944

DL 19 EF 9996

3. Last four numbers should be in increasing order like

DL 19 EF 2345

DL 19 EF 5324

DL 19 EF 2345 is better than DL 19 EF 5324.

Now how to find a lucky number?

If the number of a vehicle is DL 19 AB 2345

Then addition of 2345 has to be made.

Addition of 2345 arrives at 2+3+4+5=14 Now it has to be converted into a single number.

14= 1+4= 5

Number 5 represents energy of mercury

Whether it is compatible with the date of birth of the owner?

Addition of numbers and converting it into single number yields Driver.

In the following table, Driver, Person born on date of month, Lucky numbers and Numbers which are to be avoided are indicated:

Delayed Marriage

The 7th house warns about your marriagerelated problems. If your 7th house is harmed, it will postpone your marriage. Some of the most widespread justifications for the delay in marriages related in astrology are as follow:

• Connection of Saturn with the 7th house

• The dangerous position of Venus which symbolizes your wife and marriage.

• Presence of malefic planets such as Rahu, Ketu, Mars and Saturn in the 7th house

• The planet that rules the 7th house is shaky

• The unstable situation of Jupiter

• The 7th house is afflicted badly by any planet

• The collective consequence of Saturn and Mars on the 7th house.

• Primarily 7th lord is karaka of relationship, If 7thlord is unstable, retrograded or debilitated, wedding gets postponed.

• If the 7thlord is placed in the 6thor 8th house and if the 7th&8th lord switches their positions also outcomes in delaying of relationship.

• 7th lord conjunction with Saturn or Saturn aspecting Venus from any house marriage gets postponed.

• 7th lord Jupiter in 8th house, 8th lord Saturn conjunction with Ketu in 5th house and looks Venus and Rahu in 11th house, the moon stays in the 8th or 12th furthermore demonstrates uncertainty in marriage.

• 7th lord with Saturn anywhere in the chart this is also a reason of postponed marriage.

• In 1st house, Saturn and Venus are positioned and Mars is positioned in the 7th house, also cause uncertainty in marriage.

• If Mars positioned in 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th &12th then this called MangalDosha. It is a widespread dosha which is examined in 50% of folk out of 100. If Mars is placed in 1st, 7th or 8th positions it is called Anthya KujaDosha which is contemplated to be the greatest form of KujaDosha. Because of this Anthya KujaDosha, the connection between the couple may also get influenced. If Mars placed in 8th position, then wife and husband get hurt a lot. If Mars placed in 2nd, 4th or 12th place, it outcomes in the form of accidents which altogether shapes a good reason for the hold in marriages.

• The Moon is in conjunction with Rahu or Ketu in the 7th house and if the 7th lord is

RESEARCH JOURNAL 35 | Jan.-Mar. 2023 review

unhealthy or unstable. This also results in a wait at the wedding.

• The Sun& the Moon are opponents of Venus. So, Venus is positioned in the Moon/Sun signs Cancer, Leo. This also result in delayed relationship.

• Malefic planets like The Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu if positioned in the 7th house also results in late relationships.

• Very weak score in Astakvarga for 7th house.

• Venus positioned in Mars signs like (Aries or Scorpio) or Venus positioned in Saturn signs like (Capricorn or Aquarius)also demonstrates late marriage.

• If the Moon is positioned in the 7th house and viewed by any malefic planets, also demonstrates that the marriage may get postponed.

• 2nd lord is retrograded or 2nd house including retrograded planets or malefic planets and 2nd lord positioned in 12th house also demonstrate late marriages. Because 12th house demonstrates loss and 2nd house demonstrates family.

• Venus in conjunction with Sun very essentially in degrees or The Sun if looks at Saturn, also demonstrates late marriage.

• Cancer, Leo ascendant people generally encounter a delay in marriage.

• 7th lord positioned in 6th/8th/12th house also demonstrates late marriage.

Justifications for Early marriage

• In the horoscope, if the 7th lord is in the 2nd house, it demonstrates early marriage.

• Moon positioned in the 7th house or positioned in the ascendant or placed in the 2nd and is aspected by any good planet like Jupiter, Mercury or Venus, it demonstrates early marriage.

• Venus positioned in any house like

the 2nd, 7th, or 11th and without aspected facet by any malefic planets, demonstrates early marriage.

• If the 7th lord is a benefic planet and Venus is in Pisces or in any of its own house or peaceful house, demonstrates an early marriage.

• Venus is positioned in the 7th place from the Moon and Saturn then also it implies an the early wedding.

• Venus is positioned in Kendra from Lagna and Saturn if placed in 7th from Venus, it demonstrates early marriage.

• If the 2nd and 11th lord interchange their regions called ‘Parivarthanam’ it demonstrates early marriage.

• Spotting 2nd and 11th lord in the 10th house, results in an easily marriage.

• Lagna lord in conjunction with the 7th lord or spotting a good planet in 2nd or 7th house, demonstrates fast marriage.

• 7th lord positioned in the 1st house with Lagna lord or 7th lord positioned in the 7th house with Lagna lord, results in early marriage.

No Wedding

• The conjunction of Venus and Mercury combust and retrograde in the D-1 chart, demonstrates no relationship.

• If Mars and Saturn are positioned in the 7th house then the individual with such a horoscope doesn’t have any interest in the relationship.

• Debilitated Moon in the 7th house from Venus, also indicates in no relationship.

• If Rahu or Ketu placed in the 7th house and the 7th lord retrogrades then there is no clue of a wedding in one’s life.

• Rahu or Ketu positioned in the 7th house and is conjunct with Mars or Saturn there will be no relationship.

RESEARCH JOURNAL review 36 | Jan.-Mar. 2023

• Rahu positioned in the 7th house and aspect by more than 2 malefic planets then there are very rare opportunities for a marriage to happen.

• If Moon and Venus are positioned in any house and Saturn or Mars the positioned 7th then it results in no wedding unless the 7th lord is very powerful.

• In the 7th house if Moon conjunct with a malefic planet and the 7th lord is also malefic then there is no opportunity of a wedding to happen.

• In the 7th house if Venus is there with Mercury, not aspected by one benefic planets, then further more, there is no relationship.

• The conjunction of the Sun and Saturn aspecting the 7th house from the Moon or Lagna also shapes an apparent reason for a wedding to not happen.

• If Rahu is positioned in the 9th house, then it demonstrates no marriage

SANYASA-YOGA

Jupiter and Ketu both are contemplated to be the distinguished spiritual planets followed by Saturn and Moon. Thus

• If there is a conjunction of Ketu, Jupiter

& the Moon in the 7th, 8th or 12th house, then the person becomes a Sanyasi.

• Ketu, Jupiter, Moon, Saturn, among the four if any three planets are positioned in the 1st or 7th house, the person becomesa Sanyasi.

• Moon, Ketu & Saturn together positioned in the 8th or 12th, gives greater spirituality.

• Jupiter, Ketu, positioned in the 12th house:- The Sanyasi attains Mukti.

It is often a promising idea to discuss an astrologer before the wedding.

Astrology treatments for delayed marriage

1. Wearing of adequate gem that could enhance the seventh house of the marriage.

2. Conducting poojas, contemplation and healing as recommended by the astrologer.

3. Repeating "Argala Stotra" in the Durga Saptashat is extremely beneficial. However, it is highly advised that you opt for any of these only after taking advice from a decent astrologer. Opting for FALSE remedies might not empower you with treatments rather they can damage you. Accordingly, you must avoid trying these treatme nts on your own. r

Life History of Shirdi Sai Baba

Shirdi Sai baba is considered similar to God by his devotees. Nowadays, we can find lots of small and big temples of Sai baba all over the world. This happened due to the sincere bhakti and utmost faith kept by the devotees on Saibaba. During his lifetime, Saibaba had performed lot of miracles in the lives of his devotees, healed their diseases, played with the small children like their friends, got angry with people like a small child, scolded his disciples like their affectionate mother, and hugged his devotees like their dearest father.

Rathri festival Celebrations, and after the completion of puja, he himself served the Holy Prasad items by his own hands to the Shirdi people.

CHILDHOOD - It is believed that Shri Sai Baba was born in the year 1835 to a pious Brahmin couple in Patri village, which was ruled by the then British Government. At his young age itself, his parents handed him over to a Muslim fakir, and it is believed that this information was told by Baba himself during his final days. But still there are lot of controversies regarding his childhood, and about his date of birth.

Still now, most of the Sai devotees, whenever they receive or if they make any call to anyone over their mobile phones, instead of telling Hello, they used to tell to them, as “SAIRAM”, Good Morning, “SAIRAM”, Good Evening, like that. This shows their sincerity over the Saibaba, and they express their love and affection on Baba in various forms. Some lonely people used to consider Saibaba as their near and dear one, and used to talk in front of his picture. Devotees are also making lot of donations to Shirdi Baba Temple, and the Saibaba Temple located at Shirdi is considered as one of the richest temples in India.

Shirdi is considered as a sacred place for Saibaba devotees, and Saibaba is liked by everyone, irrespective of their caste, creed, community and religion. Though he appeared like a Muslim Fakir, but he participated in the Rama Navami and Shiva

LIFE AT SHIRDI - Sri Sai Baba visited Shirdi at the age of 16 and as soon as he entered the village, he began to sit under a big Neem tree, and was doing severe meditation on the Almighty. The People of Shirdi were very much surprised about the condition of Saibaba, since he was in deep state of meditation for several days even without taking food and water. A pious lady Bayajabai, who was the wife of the village head, felt pity on Sai Baba, and she started serving food to Baba like his mother. Saibaba also considered her like his own mother, and he used to tell it to others also. Mahalspati, the disciplined priest, who served in the Khandoba Temple, considered Saibaba as a holy avatar of Lord Dattatreya, and showed great respect to him.

After meditating under the Neem tree for some years, Baba then began to reside in a mosque. He was visited by many Hindu and Muslim devotees. In the mosque, Baba made the holy fire to burn, and it is

RESEARCH JOURNAL review 38 | Jan.-Mar. 2023

called as Dhuni. And Baba used to give the sacred ash to everyone who visits him. Still now, the holy ash acts as a good medicine for all types of health issues. Due to the significance of Saibaba, more number of his devotees began to visit Shirdi, in order to get his darshan.

RELIGION - Baba accepted all the religions like Hinduism, Christianity and Islam as alike and he also behaved equally with everyone.

CHARITY - Baba was very much interested in doing charitable activities, and he felt lot of happiness while doing charity works. He insisted his devotees to serve food to everyone, in order to relieve their hunger. He used to provide food even to birds and animals and would call them affectionately by keeping pet names, and would talk with them like their dearest friend. According to him, bad karmas of the people would be removed from them only by doing good activities in their life. For some of his devotees, he has taken their own diseases on his body, and relieved them from their diseases. He is such a great saint, and he has incarnated on this earth in order to do good to the people.

DISCIPLES- Mahalsapati who served as a priest in the Kandoba temple was the sincere disciple and devotee of Saibaba. Some of his disciples are Upasani maharaj of sakori, Nana Saheb Chandorkar, Ganapath Rao Sahasrabuddhe, Tatya Patil, Baija Mai Kote Patil, Abdul Baba, Madhav Rao Deshpande, Govindrao Raghunath Dabholkar, Mahalsapati Chimanji Nagare, RadhaKrishna Mai and they were considered as the best disciples of Saibaba, who had got the opportunity to move closely with the great saint.

MIRACLES - Sai Baba performed many miracles during his life time, and still he is actively doing from his Samadhi Shrine at Shirdi. There are innumerable miracles performed by Shirdi Saibaba. People believe that reading his life history known as, Sai Satcharitha is a good remedy for all types of problems in their lives, and also the

holy book acts as a best medicine to get a speedy recovery from the illness. This book is available in devotional book shops, Saibaba temples and is also available on the online platform. Shirdi Sai Baba also gave darshan to his sincere devotees in the form of Lord Rama, Krishna etc.

SAMADHI - During August 1918, Shirdi Sai Baba had informed to some of his followers, that he would be "leaving his physical body”. Likewise during the month of September, he had suffered from severe illness and he didn’t eat food. He stopped breathing on 15th October 1918, which was supposed a Vijayadashami festival day. After he attained Samadhi, his mortal remains were kept in Shirdi, and a temple is also built, which is popularly known as Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. Till today, lot of pilgrims are visiting the sacred Shirdi Temple, and they consider it similar to the holy Pandharpur and the sacred Kasi Viswanatha Temple. The Sai Baba temple in Shirdi is administered by Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust.

Sai Baba of Shirdi is mostly worshiped in the states of Maharashtra, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat, and also he is worshipped in some foreign countries. Most of his devotees keep a framed picture of Saibaba in their puja room, and they would also keep a small picture of Baba in their purses, bags and also in their pockets, as a token of expressing their love and affection on the great saint.

MOVIES - Some movies were also made by film producers, and those movies received good recognition from the public and from the Sai Devotees. These movies were taken in order to promote the “SAI BHAKTI” amongst the masses.

SAI SATCHARITRA BOOK - It is advisable to keep a copy of Sai Satcharitra book in our homes, in order to develop more and more bhakti on Sri Saibaba, and also to get good health, wealth and to attain all kinds of prosperity in our lives. r
