Vision Casting When Take It To The Streets ministry first began outreach off Ranger Drive, we asked residents what they felt they needed to change in their neighborhoods. They said there was nothing for the kids to do. This led us to develop an activity that we could do for the kids. We began to think; instead

We show up equipped with

We have synchronized the neighborhood fellowship with field day, and we are seeing the results of following the guidance of God. Next, we plan on connecting the education program with the Saturday outreaches so we can plug neighborhood residents into the resume building classes. In conjunction with Field Day, we are working to invest in adults by helping them gain jobs and life skills. This is all in our efforts to restore families and individuals through the restoration of Jesus, fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit. Will you dare to dream with us of what this area could look like through the transformation of an entire community by the power of Jesus? What can we do together as the hands and feet of Jesus? 1

A Look Back on Field Day By Mike Waters
I just want to share what the Lord has laid on my heart and shown me over the last few weeks serving him in Neighborhood Outreach. It has been awesome seeing what God is doing in
this community! This neighborhood is responding to our faithfulness! Every weekend someone tells me that they see the things we are doing out there. What they are seeing is the true love of Christ! We are getting more teams out in the neighborhood since we have merged Field Day and Outreach. I believe that the Volunteers that have been placed out in the neighborhood have a new outlook on this part of the ministry. They come back to the field after serving pumped up and telling their stories of what occurred while meeting the people! It’s exciting to see their enthusiasm! It is wonderful to build relationships with the people we are meeting, and it makes
them see that we truly care when we know their name and continue to stop by and pray with them. A few months ago, the Timothy Project contacted Jesse Williams and was excited about what we are doing in this neighborhood! They informed Jesse, that they are interested in partnering to do some construction projects! We are excited about this! This is an awesome way to minister to the neighborhood and meet some serious construction needs! We will be talking with them over the next few weeks to get a specific time and plan in place and will update you when we have more information. The Lord is using our ministry to love on this neighborhood! I encourage anyone who has not been a part of the Neighborhood Outreach to try it! People are usually intimidated by knocking on someone’s door they don’t know! You will be amazed at how you will be blessed and appreciated for just
The education program is more than simply a class to help with a resume. It is a class that helps you reach your full potential in many areas. The program was designed by believers from varying walks of life, and then additions to the program came about by divine intervention from God. For
example, on a volunteer’s plane ride from Michigan to Charleston, she met a guy who ran a non-profit organization who implemented a voucher system to help attendees meet their immediate needs. The “jobs committee” is designed to directly help residents get a job and to be an advocate for residents between the class attendee and employers in the committee. The employer will be part of a community of concerned employers. These employers will be added on the www.wordots.org web site. On this web site will be outcomes from the class and an opportunity to donate to help with “Help A Neighbor Fund”. We ask that if possible, you help us be the best stewards we can be to our neighbors in need. Lastly, in the near future, we hope to facilitate a network of concerned citizens who want to adopt a family in need and impact their lives for the glory of God. We push 2
forward with the vision of fostering restoration and transformation in our neighborhoods through our Word On The Street Education Program as well as through our other ministries that we are organizing to transform the area off Dorchester Road. Ultimately, we will see transformation in North Charleston!

Ministry Spotlight The Well Ministry is Seacoast Church’s College and 20 something ministry. This ministry moves forward with the vision of impacting as many College Students and young adults as possible in the Charleston area. It is headed up by Ernest Smith, who formerly worked in the high school ministry before stepping up to his current role. The Well is a close partner of Take It To The Streets, and we work together closely to impact the Kingdom by sharing Jesus with as many people as possible. Ernest’s dual passion of helping young people reach their full potential while inspiring and connecting them to reach out to their community and the world adds some flavor to the ministry. Ernest is cofounder of Bread of Life ministry. The ministry’s main purpose is helping reach the remote tribes throughout Africa with a concentration in Kenya to tell them about Jesus while working to meet the everyday needs of the Kenyans. The Well ministry has certainly inspired many young adults to serve and to be the change in the community that we all hope so much for. This is true Kingdom work and service to the King. If you are a young adult or college student you would not regret attending the Well and serving along side the many
The picture of the month is a picture that captures the true love and “God presence” of Field Day. This picture was taken in September on the field. This picture embodies the joyful light of Gods children. The only day of the week we all get to be this young and full of life. The emotion of this picture explains itself.
Kids Corner Hello everyone. We have seen some amazing things happen with these kids the last few weeks. Along with 4 of our kids getting baptized, we’ve seen some huge improvements in
behavior. God has obviously spoken to these children through our character building lessons. We’ve
seen these kids displaying such amazing hearts for service to one another. Recently, we introduced our new reward system called “Take It To The Street Bucks.” Every time a volunteer notices a child displaying Christ like behavior, we reward them with these dollars which they can reimburse at the end of the month for ice cream and prizes. Last weekend we had a reverse offering where we gave each child a Buck, and they had to reward one of their peers for a Christ like behavior. This went over better then anyone could have planned. At the end of the day, all the children couldn’t wait to tell who they gave their buck to and why. God is so good, and we give Him all the glory for how he is growing His children.

“Our volunteer in the spotlight this month is Matt McCants. Matt is continually serving the children at Field Day on Saturdays giving his time and energy. He coordinates the sports and games from capture the flag to freeze tag to sack races. The children really enjoy having someone like Matt to have fun and laugh with. Matt loves spending time with the kids and being able to share his love of Jesus Christ with them. He is a man of God who wants to be able to serve and share that love with these amazing kids. His heart is filled with compassion for others and to help others in need. We are so grateful to have him as a volunteer, a brother in Christ, and as a friend. Thanks Matt for all you do for the children. A person well deserving of the “Spotlight”!
Our Mission: To unite the Church Body in order to take the hope of Jesus Christ to the local community and the world. Mission Statement: To move from members to missionaries in our community by emulating Jesus Christ’s love towards others through the formation of genuine relationships.
On The Horizon By Jesse Williams
Within the ministry, we are building Action Teams in the areas of education, outreach, and operations to be the best ministry we can be and to attain our mission in a quicker manner. We will implement internal discipleship training to grow our leaders through tasking them to implement and serve to the best of their abilities. At the same time, we are working on starting bible studies called Life Groups to create community for believers and to instill hope within residents around Dorchester Road. We will begin a men’s Life group where we will begin to disciple residents so they can begin a bible study of their own in their neighborhood. Along with the discipleship training, the ministry will utilize a concentrated effort to raise awareness of this resource. If you or your small group would like to volunteer, please contact us so we can get you connected with a street within the community. Also, if your congregation or bible study would like us to visit and give you information on serving possibilities, please let us know and we will visit your gathering to give you more information.
