WELCOME TO FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS
Dear snow friends
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 44th Edition of the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships in Tarvisio, Friuli Venezia Giulia – Italy.
It is a great honour to host from the 24th of February to the 6th of March 2025 the most important junior world event for alpine skiers, where the world’s elite young skiers will compete for the titles in six alpine skiing events: downhill and super-G for speed and technical events such as giant slalom and slalom as well as team events (such as parallel and team combined).
Tarvisio, which has the special honour of hosting the FIS Junior World Ski Championships for the second time after 23 years, is also known for great national and international winter sports events held on the famous Di Prampero slope. Together with the Priesnig B it is one of the slopes chosen to host competitions, one of the most technical and interesting in the Alps, immersed in a natural environment of rare beauty.
Tarvisio and the whole Friuli Venezia Giulia region are looking forward to welcoming you to this unforgettable event and are proud to be able to offer the young athletes the best possible experience.
We love what we do and we love skiing!

VENUES AND FACILITIES
TARVISIO & FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA
Tarvisio is one of the most important ski resorts in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Surrounded by the Julian Alps and rich in wide valleys and woods - the Tarvisio Forest, with 24,000 hectares, is the largest state forest in Italy - the town has a modern appearance but also an ancient soul, full of traditions waiting to be discovered.
Thanks to its special location close to the borders, it is a crossroads of languages and cultures, where Italy, Slovenia and Austria meet. Together with Malborghetto-Valbruna, Tarvisio can boast of being one of the few quadrilingual communes in Europe: Italian, German, Slovenian and Friulian are spoken there. Today, most of the population is Italian, but there are also Slovenian and German minorities.
Tarvisio and Friuli Venezia Giulia, with its Alps and Dolomites, millenary forests, winter sports facilities and a long tradition in organising sports events and tourist hospitality, is ready to host the 44th Edition of the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships. This confirms the natural vocation of the town and the region for sports organization.
PromoTurismoFVG, which is responsible for the technical organization of the event, is committed to ensuring that all measures and preparations for the event comply with the guidelines laid down in the official regulations of the International Ski Federation (FIS).
The famous Di Prampero slope, together with the Priesnig B, are the slopes chosen to host the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships, one of the most technical and interesting in the Alps, immersed in a natural environment of rare beauty.

AGE CATEGORY
The FIS registration is only possible for this category
NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS AND OFFICIALS
Each National Ski Association may participate with a total of 16 competitors, but no more than 10 of the same gender.
A maximum of 4 women and 4 men may start per event. In Downhill a maximum number of 8 athletes (including ZK quota) per gender may take part in the official training.
Additional start places for qualified competitors (ZK quota) • The ZK quota is valid for these four events: DH, SG, SL and GS.
• 2 ZK competitors may be entered in addition to the four competitors per nation.
• Qualification: Ranked on the valid FIS points list in two of these events (DH, GS, SL): Men: in the top 500, Women: in the top 400.
• ZK competitors’ participation will be confirmed one hour before the first competition draw, for DH latest one hour after the last training run.
• In case ZK competitors do not finish one of the events they keep the right to start within the original total quota of their country for the other events (this means that the national quota is not reduced due to a DNF of a ZK competitor).
• Teams cannot make any changes to the ZK competitors after the first race.
A maximum of 20 officials (e.g. 1 team captain, 11 trainers, 6 service staff, 1 doctor and 1 physiotherapist) may be entered per national team (men and women):

officials
ORGANISATIONAL INFORMATION
ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS
Each National Ski Association must pay to the Organizing Committee for all the competitors and officials included in the last official entry the price of CHF 110.
The price (per person per day) includes tourist taxes - full board - lift pass per person per day.
The price must be paid:
• 50% on the day of arrival
• 50% before departure.
• Advance payment: To facilitate the accreditation of athletes on the day of arrival, subject as per the regulations to the payment of a minimum fee of 50% of the cost of accommodation, the organization strongly advises all participating teams to pay the due amount in advance. The advance payment and billing arrangements will be communicated individually once the registration is completed (final entries) by the accommodation manager, Ms Cristiana Teot.
Teams that have not paid in advance will be required to settle the amount upon arrival; accreditation can only be collected once payment has been completed.
To avoid delays and to ensure a smooth handling of transactions, we suggest in this case to designate a single contact person per team responsible for on-site payments. Any on-site settlements will be organised through a special calendar, which will be handed over to the contact person responsible for the team during the accreditation operations.
The organisation guarantees accommodation, meals as well as lift for all participating teams from 24 February until the end of the event.
For any early arrival requirements, we will check availability, but we would like to point out that
the organisation cannot guarantee the availability of hotel accommodation in the same facility for the days preceding the official start date of the event. If rooms are not available, it will be the responsibility of the individual teams to organise their own accommodation for the extra nights.
The hotel management cannot insist that the teams leave the rooms on the last competition day.
Allocation of single rooms per team will be made according to the following table:
• 1 to 4 competitors = 1 single room
• 5 to 10 competitors = 2 single rooms
• more than 11 competitors = 3 single rooms.
Single room policy: additional single rooms, at the request of the teams and subject to availability, will be charged at a supplement of € 25.00 per person per day. The selected facilities are responsible for providing full board catering for their teams.
Meals must comply with at least the following FIS guidelines:
• Breakfast: Bread, butter and jam, coffee or tea with milk. Choice of eggs, cheese, sausages, and different cereals.
• Lunch: Soup or starter, 200g meat (steak, etc.), poultry or fish, according to the teams. Vegetables or other side dishes, cheese, fruit, or dessert, ½ litre of mineral water per person.
• Dinner: Same as lunch
Meals must observe the following timetable:
• Breakfast: from 06:30 to 09:30;
• Lunch: from 12:30 to 15:00;
• Dinner: from 19:00 to 21:00
The hotel must adapt to the requirements of the timetable depending on the training and competition program:
• For example, for Slalom and Giant Slalom events, breakfast is usually served very early in the morning.
• For the Downhill, daily training ends at approximately 2.30 p.m. and the hotel must be able to serve hot meals when the athletes and coaches return.
Any extras not listed are the sole responsibility of the teams.

SUSTAINABILITY
FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI
CHAMPIONSHIPS Tarvisio 2025 is carefully planned and executed to minimize its environmental impact, promote social responsibility, and contribute positively to the economy. It is aimed to balance fun, being ethical, and caring for resources, including everyone.
Tarvisio area_ sustainable tourism destination according to global sustainable tourism council criteria
The Tarvisio area is the second ecosustainable destination recognized at the Italian level, after Valsugana, which obtained its GSTC certification in 2019. The initiative was undertaken as part of the Interreg WoM365-365 Days World of Mountains project in collaboration with the Hermagor Pressegger See area, which has, in turn, achieved GSTC recognition. The Tarvisio, Sella Nevea and Passo Pramollo Tourist Promotion Consortium, thanks to the sustainability path begun in 2020, obtained the Sustainable Tourism Destination Certificate according to the international GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) standards on May 6, 2021.
Flower ceremony diplomas made by recycled paper mixed with flower seeds
Composed of 100 percent recycled paper mixed with flower seeds, printed with ecofriendly water-based ink, hand-cut and sustainably packaged, our diplomas are a way to make the event more eco-sustainable and give athletes small seeds to germinate in their home countries.
Wooden trophies from fallen wood of friuli venezia giulia forests
Friuli Venezia Giulia consists of an incredible variety of natural environments and landscapes, and what often characterizes the diversity of environments is the vegetation.
Forty-one percent of the regional area is occupied by forests, a small part of which is in the plains (7 percent) and a large part in mountainous areas (93 percent) covering 324,000 ha. These are woods and forests that over time, particularly in the past, have been an important resource not only for the local population but also for the institutions that have managed part of the forest heritage for centuries.
Trophies for the FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS Tarvisio 2025 are made from the fallen wood of Friuli Venezia Giulia Forests. No two pieces are the same, because each axe stroke given by the craftsman carves a cut that follows the natural grain of the wood, thus evoking the wound of the forests. The trophy is a piece of forest that can be reborn in this way.
Recycled and recyclable uniforms
Life is a choice and an achievement that must be protected. We have chosen, we want to protect our planet. All the Staff and volunteers’ uniforms are made from recycled and recyclable materials.
Plastic bottles to become filament yarns
Our idea is that of recycling plastic from bottles by turning it into filament yarns. It is an innovation that reduces waste, promotes a culture of recycling, and enables a reduction in the impact of pollution from plastic bottles. All plastic bottles collected in special containers during the event will be recycled and used to dress the athletes of the future.
Io sono Friuli Venezia Giulia sustainable label
All snacks and beverages offered before and during the races in the two team hospitality spaces carry the “IO SONO FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA” label. This label supports conscious and solidarity-based purchasing, ensuring a positive impact on the local community. It helps identify over 400 agri-food companies committed to environmental, economic, and social sustainability. The label also highlights initiatives that promote these values, deeply rooted in the region’s culture.
“IO SONO FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA” is more than just a label; it’s a way of becoming part of a strong community rich in people, resources, quality, knowledge, and traditions—a unique heritage shared through healthy food products.
Safeguarding
FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI
CHAMPIONSHIPS Tarvisio 2025 O.C. commitment includes supporting athletes on and off the ski slopes – recognising all the rights of athletes, including the right to enjoy a safe and supportive sports environment. Any behaviour that discriminates or offends constitutes an intolerable violation of the dignity of the athletes and all the participants in FIS ALPINE JUNIOR WORLD SKI CHAMPIONSHIPS Tarvisio 2025.
