Assisted reproductive techniques, predominantly ICSI, have become clinically effective and more common in the last several years. Practitioners can now collect oocytes in their practices and ship them to a laboratory for ICSI, and resulting embryos can be shipped back for transfer. This wet lab will provide veterinarians with instruction, discussion of equipment and supplies, and hands-on practice for ultrasound guided transvaginal oocyte aspiration (TVA), oocyte recovery and handling, and processing for shipment.

Your invitation to attend an exceptional ‘getaway’ to the Caribbean for world-class, equine-exclusive continuing education.
I
’d like to personally invite you to join the FAEP, other equine practitioners and representatives of the veterinary industry for the 12th Annual Promoting Excellence Symposium (PES).
This year, PES goes offshore to Puerto Rico. We are looking forward to our first off-continent meeting since our merge with the FVMA with much anticipation for a couple of reasons. For the exceptional program we are presenting which includes two comprehensive wet labs, a first for PES; and for the great experience hosting our conference at a premier destination on an exotic Caribbean island offers. We are proud of how our symposium has evolved to establish itself as a world-class provider of exceptional continuing education. Collaborating with leaders in equine veterinary medicine, the 2016 program is unique and substantial; designed to equip attendees with new knowledge to optimize the care of the equine athlete. Our host hotel, the Intercontinental San Juan Resort & Spa, is best described as a tropical escape that offers the greatest hospitality and amenities, while the venue for our wet labs, Hacienda Santa Fe, is a beautiful ranch known for its champion Paso Fino horses. Along with our exceptional CE, we’ve scheduled special events that we are confident you will wish to experience. The FAEP Fishing Tournament is always a great time of comradery for those who find the sport enjoyable and refreshing, and this year, we have added a great networking party…a cultural celebration of PES - at a pig roast to be held on the beautiful private beach of our wonderful host hotel. You may find the details of our program’s wet labs and lectures as well as registration, room reservation, and special events information on the conference website online at www.faep.net. And follow our countdown to PES 2016 on social media, on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages. Please plan to join us for our escape to the enchanting island or Puerto Rico in October. We look forward to welcoming you! Sincerely, Ruth-Anne Richter, BSc (Hon), DVM, MS FAEP Council President
