LIMITED SEATING....RESERVE YOUR SEAT TODAY! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2013 - 11:40 A.M. - 1:10 P.M.
Veterinarian attendees, join one of our distinguished speakers in an interactive lunch-n-learn experience on Saturday afternoon, just $35! CLINICAL PITFALLS
OOPS! THAT DIDN’T PAN OUT: PITFALLS IN THE INTERPRETATION OF CYTOLOGY SAMPLES
- DR. MICHAEL SCHAER
WHAT WENT RIGHT AND WHAT WENT WRONG
- DR. CYNTHIA WARD
- DR. RICK ALLEMAN
As hard as we try to practice excellent medicine, clinical pitfalls await us all. Some of these are preemptive and hit hard without warning; others send us signals that we might not see.
$35 Sponsored by
The accurate interpretation of a cytology prep requires some level of cytology experience, but begins with good sample collection, slide preparation and proper staining. Even with these in place certain situations can and will lead to erroneous interpretation involving a mass on your patient. This session will be an interactive discussion, using clinical cases that illustrate various cytological pitfalls with a view to avoiding them in the future.
In this interactive discussion, complicated internal medicine cases will be presented. Did we do the right thing? Could we have provided better diagnostic or management options for the patient. It is hoped that a lively discussion will ensue from the case presentations.
