Welcome to Falcon Country Dear Falcon Fans, Thank you for supporting our teams, our athletes, our coaches and our opponents. Here at Fort Worth Country Day, we have a wonderfully storied and proud athletic history that involves Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) championships, stellar athletes who have taken their experiences from FWCD to the collegiate level, and plenty of other athletes whose careers did not go beyond high school but who benefited both from our coaches’ teaching and from the powerful experience of being a member of a team. With their efforts and their attitudes, our student-athletes make us proud. Our coaches make us proud as well. With high standards set by our Athletic Director, Brian Phelps, we have educators running our practices and guiding our games to get the most out of our student-athletes. So, as you support the players, don’t forget to appreciate the dedication of their coaches as well. No doubt you are reading this program because you are a Falcon fan. We appreciate your support, both the calm clapping type and the wildly exuberant variety as well. In all of that enthusiasm, I remind you of our desire to model for our athletes the best possible sportsmanship. As fans, that means we do not “ride” referees, and we certainly do not hassle opposing players or teams. We respect our opponents, and we trust that our referees are doing their best. Our school’s high standards for behavior are right up there with our high standards for performance. We should always be aiming high. Win or lose, though, let us give reason to be thought of as That School, the one that always competes to win and the one with the always respectful players and fans. Please help Mr. Phelps and his coaches in our efforts to be That School. Go Falcons,

Eric Lombardi Head of School

Welcome Welcome to our amazing school here at Fort Worth Country Day! It is with tremendous gratitude that I serve our kids and our community at this extraordinary school. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, relative, friend, faculty/staff member or visitor to our campus, I hope your FWCD experience is positive and enjoyable. Our Athletic Department strives to provide our studentathletes with exceptional programs, superior facilities and skilled coaches so that they have the best opportunity to compete at the highest level possible. Balance is essential to success for all student-athletes as they learn effective time management techniques, study skills and proper dietary habits. Our coaches work as mentors on and off the field, guiding students as they grow and learn lessons that will serve them well into adulthood. At the end of each season, it is our goal for student-athletes to realize they are part of something much more than a team. That’s what Falcon pride is all about. I invite you to join us in supporting our athletes at many contests this winter. I also hope you decide to get involved in some way to continue supporting the School, FWCD athletics and our Falcon Club (athletic booster club). I am excited about what the winter season has to offer our student-athletes, and I invite you to be a part of the experience. I look forward to partnering with you as we continue to build upon being the best that we can possibly be here at FWCD in academics, the arts and athletics. Go Falcons!

FWCD Families, Winter is here, and that means it’s time to head to the gymnasiums, soccer fields and pools to cheer on our amazing basketball, cheer, soccer, swimming and wrestling athletes. You also can show your support of Falcon athletics by joining Falcon Club, the FWCD athletic booster club that helps fund Lower and Middle School PE, as well as Middle and Upper School sports. Proudly display your 2019-20 Falcon Club membership sticker shown below and use your Falcon Bucks (a thank-you for joining) to grab some gear at the Falcon Nest before you head to a game or meet to cheer on our incredible athletes. And we always need help from volunteers, so please consider giving your time to allow parents with athletes competing the opportunity to watch their Falcon!
