ITT Engineered Valves Delivering high quality, innovative flow control solutions for Abrasive Wear Resistance, Corrosion Resistance, and Critical/Hazardous Containment in a wide range of industries worldwide.

Cam-Tite® and Cam-Line® ball valves with H-Series Compact

actuators have been converted to C-Series Compact II actuators. The Compact II is one of the most rugged actuators on the world market. Due to its ruggedness, Compact offers a seven year warranty on the actuator. Advantages of the C-Series Compact actuators: • Powerful - Four pistons generate twice the torque of comparably sized two piston designs • Energy saver - Reduces the average air consumption by 50% due to compact physical size • Fastest - Has faster stroke due to shorter travel distance • Smallest and Lightest - Size is about 50% of a traditional 2 piston actuator with same torque value, due to the 4 piston design • Minimal easy maintenance • Less wear of moving parts (piston and o-rings) than any traditional 2 piston actuator due to the concentric pistons design • Safe springs configuration change with cover bolts long enough to release spring load before removing the cover • Easy spring configuration changes, due to concentric spring structure • Wide options of Fail/Safe combinations, particularly in low air operating pressure The H-Series actuator has been discontinued and ITT will no longer ship or quote the obsolete H-Series actuator. If you have any questions, please contact your F.W. Webb Sales Representative.

Crane Resistoflex and Crane Xomox: You’rE Single Source for Your Most Difficult Corrosion Applications.

 xomox® tufline fully lined plug valves

• These valves are more versatile, and often out-perform alloy valves • More economical than alloy valves • With FEP and PFA lining, cast, dovetail recesses and machined grooves lock the lining to the valve body casting. The locked-in lining is virtually impervious to shrinking, stress-cracking, collapse, 2-way fully lined or blowout plug valves • Unlike alloy valves, there is no need to inventory different valves for various applications • There is less chance of costly and dangerous installation errors. • Media contamination is prevented • Positive shutoff • FEP and PFA locked-in lining Xomox® valves are lined with DuPont™ Teflon® fluoropolymer. 3-way fully lined plug valves

 xomox® XLD lined Butterfly valves Resistant to permeation, Xomox® XLD offers safety and extended product life. Xomox® XLD process butterfly valves have robust liners: The wall thickness in the flow area is a minimum of 3 mm (PFA) and 4 mm (PTFE), offering a high level of operational safety, as media permeation is considerably slower compared to thinwalled standard liners. This feature allows increased up-time and enables a longer effective product life – which translates into a safety and a cost advantage. The integrity of the lining is reaffirmed by subjecting it to a 20,000 Volt electrical defect detection test. Xomox®XLD butterfly valve features lower (breakaway) torque compared to other products currently available in the market.

Lokring Reduces Overhead Costs  Easy Installation

 Cut and prep pipe/tube. Inspect, gauge and mark pipe/ tube ends.

10

F.W. WEBB COMPANY

Select and assemble LOKTOOL™. Actuate tool to install fitting.

Remove LOKRING tool head. Inspect completed job.

 Twice the Productivity of Welded Pipe A fitter/helper team can routinely field erect, fit-up, and install 50 to 60 LOKRING fittings in a single shift. This productivity more than doubles the rate at which welded piping systems are typically shop fabricated and field erected. The increased productivity for a typical job equals $300.00 savings for every $1000.00 of the project’s cost. This combination of greater productivity and lower man-hour rates translates to approximately 250% more fittings per hour using LOKRING.

 Without the Welding Overhead By eliminating welding in the unit, many overhead costs relating to safety, personnel, equipment and supplies, inspection, rework, and monitoring can be eliminated or substantially reduced. In addition, ASME-certified welders are freed up for large bore pipe or pressure vessel welding.

New Energy Savings Calculator Parker Transair has developed an energy calculator that enables system designers to determine savings made by using Transair in comparison to steel systems. Contractor/end users can immediately calculate the potential saving. On the basis of compressor related data such as pressure, flow rate, annual hours of operation, the type of dryer and data from the characteristics of the network and the local cost of electricity, the Transair energy efficiency calculator defines the savings and the duration of return on investment. The results speak for themselves and show that Transair is the best performing system and the best long term choice, no matter whether the project is for an extension, the modification of an existing pipe system or a new installation. To calculate energy savings using the Transair Energy Calculator, you will need: data about the compressor room, data about the compressed air network, and economic data (quotation for the network, electricity cost). With this energy calculator, you will be able to compare Transair to traditional compressed air pipe systems: . For a new quotation: the quotation for Transair compared to the quotation for a new network in steel. . For an existing installation: the quotation for Transair compared to the annual cost for an old network in steel. The results will show estimations of: . Total annual cost for a traditional network and for Transair . Total of money saved for 1 to 10 years using Transair . The payback period of the initial investment in Transair products

 fire-x-trol wet pipe sprinkler system expansion chamber Protect your System with the FIRE-X-TROL®. . . UL®* Listed and ASME Compliant The Fire-X-Trol® expansion chamber with pre-charged nitrogen or dry air pneumatic cushion reliably protects your system from pressure increases that result from fluid temperature change. Since these systems are closed-loop systems, the expanded fluid needs to be accommodated with a prepressurized expansion tank. As the temperature rises, the Fire-X-Trol® provides the

additional space in the system to accommodate the expanded volume of solution. The pneumatic cushion is compressed as the system pressure increases creating the space for the increased volume of fluid. The nitrogen volume in the chamber will be great enough to keep the system pressure below the pressure limitations of the system components. Properly sized, the expansion chamber will maintain maximum system pressures within the working pressure limitations of the system equipment.Your system is safely protected!

Feed Accuracy: Powered by the E-Class 360 Stroke-Per-Minute technology, the EW has an incredible adjustment range of 1800:1 ensuring precise feed control for any application. Pulse Output: The EW pump is capable of sending a pulse out synchronous with pump operation. Stop Input/Output: A stop input contact will stop the pump operation and close a stop output contact for alarm or remote notification. A light visibly indicates a stopped condition. Pre-Stop Input: Orange light that gives warning, but pump continues to operate. Analog Input Control: Fixed or scalable 4-20mA input control. Flow Display and Totalization: After calibration, the EW will totalize the volume feed and display the flow rate. As long as stroke length is constant, the pump will accurately totalize all feed. In cases where the pump is being controlled externally with a pulse, the pump will display and count down remaining flow based on the pulse input. Coupled with the Posiflow feed verification, the EW is equipped to ensure proper feed to your application. Quick–Prime: Hold 2 keys down and pump runs at 100% of speed to prime quickly without adjusting application settings. Easy Draw–Down Calibration: In the calibration mode, the user only needs to start and stop the pump, enter the draw–down volume, and the pump calibrates volume–per–stroke. IP65 construction

Presenting Rubber Fab’s Perfect Surface Gasket System The perfect union of Torque-Rite and the Perfect Surface Gasket. Torque-Rite allows you to control compression and expansion while maintaining constant inch/pounds force insuring a perfect surface ID when used with a perfect surface gasket. TorqueRite eliminates the problems associated with over- or under-tightening a gasket which can lead to an unsanitary system. Over-tightening of a clamp can tear or damage a gasket and can also cause a damming effect inside the pipeline. A torn or extruded gasket can hold soil and bacteria. Under-tightening leaves an undesirable concave area at the gasket allowing soil and bacteria to become entrapped. Both conditions should be avoided in a sanitary system. The solution: the Torque-Rite system. Torque-Rite and Perfect Surface Gasket eliminates the concerns associated with over- and under tightening a sanitary gasket. When tightened, the Torque-Rite’s self-limiting internal mechanism will make an audible “click” signaling the user they have reached proper inch/pounds force. If further tightening is attempted, there will be more “clicks” but there will be no additional application of force on the gasket. By maintaining constant force on a perfect surface gasket with the Torque-Rite, gasket ID is maintained lowering bacterial count and enhancing product integrity. Available in 30,40 50, 60 # options. A perfect surface sanitary system is assured.

Ice machines may experience operational problems only during certain times of the day. A machine may function properly while it is being serviced, but malfunction later. Information provided by the user can help the technician start in the right direction, and may be the determining factor in the final diagnosis. Ask these questions before beginning service: • When does the ice machine malfunction (night, day, all the time, only during freeze cycle)? • When do you notice low ice production (one day a week, every day, weekends)? • Can you describe exactly what the ice machine seems to be doing? • Has anyone been working on the ice machine? • During “store shutdown” is the circuit breaker, water supply or air temperature altered? • Is there any reason why incoming water pressure might rise or drop substantially? These are good service practices.

Saving Energy at Colby Sawyer College, NH Rich Fredette, URELL Technical Products Group Division, conducted a sales call to Robert Morse, the Sodexo Facility Manager at Colby Sawyer College in New London, NH. Earlier that morning, a heating circulator in a dorm building had failed. The three-piece pump had already been rebuilt several times before, and now parts were being ordered to repair it once again. Rich and F.W. Webb offered a better solution. The HVAC Supervisor received a quote for the parts to rebuild the pump which totaled more than $1,000. It was a job that he was not looking forward to doing. Rich cross-referenced a Grundfos Versaflo® wet-rotor circulator that is maintenance free and consumes less energy. Working with the F.W. Webb branch in Lebanon, NH, Colby Sawyer was able to replace the pump with a brand new Grundfos Versaflo® for significantly less than the cost of the parts alone, and saved the labor to rebuild the old pump as well. The mechanics were impressed that the Grundfos Versaflo® port-to-port flange dimensions were an exact fit to the old pump, making installation a breeze. After installing the Grundfos Versaflo , a power meter was connected ®

was determined that Versaflo used 50% less energy than the existing pump. According to Grundfos, almost all circulators are oversized. With 3 speeds, the Versaflo allows the technician to easily adjust the pump to the necessary head and flow. When you slow the pump down, energy consumption is reduced. The Grundfos Versaflo® series of pumps has been well received for more than 30 years in Europe and the United States, and is

Tools/Safety  Deburring tools for plastic  Power Drive DEB2 and DEB4

05303 (5301PDCOMBO)

Reed offers deburring tools for plastic pipe. DEB2 deburrs inner and outer edges of PVC, CPVC, ABS, PP, and PE pipe through 2” diameter. Made from steel, the cone design allows it to be used on even the smallest pipe, including 1/8” diameter. DEB4 deburrs fast – one easy revolution produces a 3/32” 15° chamfer in seconds. This aluminum die-cast deburring tool features a hardened steel blade that is reversible for two cutting edges and sharpenable. DEB4 fits comfortably in one’s hand and creates a smooth chamfered pipe end so solvent spreads evenly as pipe is joined. Deburrs six pipe sizes: 1¼” – 4”. Used on PVC, CPVC, ABS. DEB4

The Reed Power Drive rotates the pipe while cutting, threading, or reaming operations are performed on up to 2” diameter pipe and bolt. WHY REED? Flat top of housing is ideal for placing tools. Power drive includes longlasting HSS dies, not alloy dies. Also, Reed’s Power Drives are approved to the latest USA and CSA Canadian standards!

 oil bucket

06150 (OLBUCKT1) Reed Oilers effectively deliver threading oil to piping work. The gun-and-trigger approach makes it easy to pump oil directly on the work. The rugged and completely portable Reed OLBUCKT1 (#06150) comes with both a metal bucket and a metal drip pan/chip tray. The system double-filters and recirculates oil as the chip tray catches the big waste pieces and the filter strains out any small particles. OLBUCKT1 features a sturdy nozzle made from turned aluminum. This system ships with one gallon of Reed Threadguard dark cutting oil (#06120). Additionally, the Reed OLBUCKT1 provides a muchrequested 60” (1524 mm) hose.
