THOUGHTS Disregard the train schedules, I think the best way to go to Green Island from Hsinchu is to take the moutain route passing Taipei to the east coast of Taiwan then to Taitung. The hostel we chose had discounts for the boat ride to Green Island, but this counts on which hostel you prefer. I’ll post pictures of the interior below you can judge for yourself.
