Health: A Political Choice. A Global Governance Project Publication
• Despite our advances in health care over the last century, millions now face new risks, including unaffordable costs and unsuitable health infrastructure.
• Universal Health Coverage means all people, regardless of who they are or where they live, must be able to access high-quality essential health services, without suffering financial hardship.
• Inaugural publication launched at G20 Summit in Japan calls for action in delivering UHC and produced in collaboration with the World Health Organization
Health: A Political Choice publication calls on world leaders and politicians around the world to prioritise implementation of Universal Health Coverage. More than half the world’s population lacks access to essential health services, including vaccination, the ability to see a health worker or access to treatment for HIV. Even when these services are available, using them can spell financial disaster.
