A place of nothingness 1 conceptual photograph
Within the bustling lifestyle city of today’s cities, it is essential to have peaceful moments in which to pause and be still. This project offers a private and intimate space for busy workers to retreat within Melbourne’s CBD; it allows them to be calm, release their mind, and to meditate.
It is a place for nothing, a sanctuary for the body to rest and mind to drift away from hectic daily routines; to wonder, imagine, and drift in the pleasure of day dreams. The bathhouse offers the ritual of bathing, solitude, and discreet socialisation. This project explores intimate moments within architectural spaces. The play of water, steam, mist, light and shadow resonate evocative and diverse sensual experiences for the users within a dense urban setting.

CONNECTING CBD TOWERS
VERTICAL RIVER
Vertical River - connecting CBD towers The aim of our project is using living systems to collect, purify and recycle rainwater and grey water from surrounding buildings, at same time able to create a healthy and green social space. Melbourne’s population is forecast to double by 2050 with a rapid increasing of population, a demand for more housing will be built and more people will settle in. It is important that the future development of urban should be focus on inner city that promote people living in city as well as restrict further urban sprawl effect as it is evident that causing both negative environmental and social issues. It is suggest that with new building design and planning strategies, a compact city living style is much healthier, environmental friendly and socially benefit.
The design to explore and search for a new typology that has a relative small footprint which is possible to build within high density area and it is able to add values within urban centres such as providing open public green outdoor space and recreation areas as well as make positive contributions to the existing building and surrounding environment. Investigation will be made on biophilic design which is the concept of design with nature, explore elements which make people feel good, enjoyable and encourage people to engage with nature. Studies will also made regarding on generative digital design tools base on emerging biological systems will be applied. Coding is used in a range of programmatic and experiential conditions.

Building as a living machine system purify water with nature system and able to provide recreation spaces at same time to local communities within CBD. The aim of the building is to collect grey water from surrounding buildings as well as harvest rain water from adjacent rooftops, purifying the water though nature wet lands, pond, grassland and agriculture system located in different parts of building and then feed back to water main, supply again to surrounding uses.

Permeable - Entertainment Complex The design of this project is aim to provide a new entertainment space within Melbourne CBD area. Research has shown that populations in Melbourne has continuously to grow over recent years and will continue to increase in the future, whereas the main population is young people between age group of 20-24. Therefore, the design will be targeting on the young generation of people and provide more entertainment space for them. As a resident in Melbourne, there are only small numbers of entertainment complex in the CBD area, and most of them are traditional retailers with fully closed indoor environment.
1 shadow analysis
The aim of this design is to refine entertainment space by integrating large public open spaces and green scape into the design, produce both outdoor and indoor for shopping experiences and green landscape within the heart of the city. Site will be design with easy accessibility and as a transition zone which encourage people to flow in to the space and make people feel welcomed. The building is design to produce entertainment facilities within CBD as well as serves a small escape spaces for the busy city life.

Light, Shadow and Time 1 lighting effect
Light and shadow change constantly in our everyday environment, it is critical to the building environment and emphasis the structure. This Studio forced on the investigation of the light and shadow plays in architecture space. Many small experience and studies has carried out during the semester, both the study of daylight and artificial light. Range of investigations and study models has been made though the study of light and searching for the best light effect. My research is focus on the study of artificial light and material texture. Light gives material a distinguish texture and each material has a different characteristic when lights shine upon them. Research is forced on recyclable materials such as foam, plastic bags, wrapping paper foams and many other materials to achieve the best lighting effect. The studies then to be integrated in to a residential house design.
