Strategic Partners “The Entrepreneurs’ Organization’s vision is to build the world’s most influential community of entrepreneurs.” EO strategic partners have unfetted access to the best entrepreneurial talent in the state of Alabama. Moreover, not just any entrepreneurs but those that will continue to grow their business and strive for continued success. An investment in this segment is a deposit on a great business relationship moving forward. In return, strategic partners are offered the opportunity to develop relationships with Birmingham’s top entrepreneurial leaders and business owners. As a prominent supporter of these industry leaders, Strategic Partners can invest a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising and develop long-term relationships with key decision makers of firms that can benefit from their expertise, products or services. Due to EO’s membership criteria, most strategic partners see the EO audience they are reaching as a highly targeted opportunity. Our strategic partners relationships grow way beyond a banner and a logo on an email. EO Birmingham’s relationships with some of Alabama’s great companies have ensured partnerships that have fostered personal relationships, trust, mutual growth, and, of course, a return on investment. Our four current strategic partners, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, Buzz 12, First Commercial Bank and Warren Averett LLC, have developed individual programs that will continue well past their first partnership.

22

Strategic Partners Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is a regional law firm with a global perspective. The firm has more than 440 attorneys serving individuals, emerging businesses, and established regional, national and international companies. Clients rely on us for innovative legal services that reflect a deep understanding of their business realities. We are one of the largest firms in the Southeast, with offices strategically located in Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee and the District of Columbia. These offices provide an extensive geographic base from which to serve clients on a regional basis, as well as clients located elsewhere in the country and the world. We frequently serve as national coordinating counsel, regional counsel, and statewide counsel for clients in various industries. Our lawyers work for major construction companies in Europe and Asia, for multinational pharmaceutical companies in New York and California, for major insurance and financial clients in Texas, Indiana, and Alabama and for national tire manufacturers in Tennessee and Georgia. www.babc.com

As a mid-sized, full service financial institution in Birmingham, Alabama, our immediate strength lies in both our asset size and our bank rating. Currently, First Commercial Bank boasts assets in excess of one billion dollars. First Commercial Bank opened in 1985 with an $11.5 million capital base. Since then, we have grown to over $2 billion in assets. In the history of de novo banks, few have experienced First Commercial’s growth in asset size. At the foundation of this growth are First Commercial Bank’s founders, Richard E. Anthony and John T. Oliver, Jr. They saw an opportunity to capitalize on an increasingly impersonal and frustrating Birmingham banking industry. www.firstcommercialbank.synovus.com

Buzz12 is a Birmingham Alabama advertising agency serving small to medium-sized businesses and organizations looking for PR, social media, or blogging assistance. David Sher and Phyllis Neill have a track record of being the first agency in Birmingham to specialize in Social Media Marketing. Since that time, we’ve expanded to offer even more services that help “move the needle” for our clients. www.buzz12.com

Warren Averett, along with combined predecessor firms, has served clients across the U.S. and beyond for over 50 years, consistently leading the markets in which we practice. Our Firm has strengthened its presence in the Southeast over the last few years by joining successful firms together across Alabama, Florida and Georgia, becoming the Top Pacesetter in Growth among U.S. accounting firms in 2013.

Mauricio Papapietro

BIO

Mauricio Papapietro, owner and chef at brick & tin, worked in fine dining for years before venturing out on his own in 2010. A self taught chef, he earned his culinary education working as Chef de Cuisine under Frank Stitt at Highlands Bar & Grill, as well as Chris Hastings at The Hot & Hot Fish Club. In opening a primarily lunchtime restaurant in historic downtown Birmingham, Papapietro sought to bring the techniques, ingredients and philosophy of his fine dining mentors into a fast-casual restaurant setting. Everything at brick & tin, from vinaigrette and sauces to fresh baked breads, is made in house, from scratch. Produce is sourced from local farmers who share an uncompromising passion for their products. Meats are sourced from all natural, certified humane operations.

The Jason Baily Band will entertain us while we enjoy cocktails & hors d’ oeuvres followed by dinner featuring local chef Mauricio Papapietro of the exciting new restaurant Brick and Tin.

Learning Event

Location: TBD Time: 8am- 9:30am Hosted by James Robinson Come hear from an inspiring speaker, Dave Sanderson, the last survivor to get off the plane that crashed into the Hudson River in 2009. Dave will recount that story and tell us the valuable lessons he learned from his experience. You don’t want to miss this event!

Dave Sanderson

BIO

On January 15, 2009, returning home from a routine business trip, Dave Sanderson survived “The Miracle on the Hudson.” When a bird strike hit US Airways Flight 1549, there was no choice for the crew but to ditch the plane into the Hudson River. Sitting on the plane, in what many would consider to be the wrong place and the wrong time, Dave knew he was exactly where he was supposed to be. Thinking only of helping others in the crisis, Dave Sanderson became the last person off of the back of the plane that day, and was largely responsible for making sure so many others made it out safely. Exposed to frigid water and freezing temperatures, doctors feared that he would suffer a heart attack or stroke from the dangerous conditions. Miraculously, he returned to his job as a sales manager that following Monday, and has since become the face of an everyday American hero. To Dave however, doing the right thing came naturally.

34

When confronting potential tragedy, he remembered the words of his mother, “If you do the right thing, you will be taken care of ” and summoned the inner strength to persevere. An inspiring survivor, Dave Sanderson was an ordinary person in an extraordinary situation. Sharing the lessons of that day with audiences around the world, he shows that in any circumstance, managing your state of mind and leading with certainty can turn anyone into a hero.

Michael Anderson M.B.A,M.A

BIO

Michael Anderson has a life scoreboard which reflects great achievement in both athletics and business: professional basketball, founder of three successful software companies, and extensive world traveler. While he could count his wins on the scoreboard, there was still this inner voice that would not let him be completely happy. After many years of study in the field of spiritual psychology and then applying that learning to himself and others, Michael is able to show you a way to experience joy, happiness and peace in all areas of your life, even during your most difficult moments. Michael Anderson founded Executive Joy! to teach competitive, driven, highachieving business people (like him!) how to become more happy, authentic, and fulfilled, all while becoming even more successful.
