Gabriel Barreras

Originally from Southern Indiana, I now claim Los Angeles as home after 13 years of living and working in this dynamic city. I am currently finishing my Masters of Planning at the University of Southern California, where I received my Bachelors in International Relations. I have had the pleasure to work with wonderful people in numerous international development and humanitarian organizations including Oxfam America, Human Rights Watch, the UNEP and the U.S. State Department in Vietnam. Eventually I hope to combine my background in international development with planning and design in some of the most marginalized communities in the US and abroad. I am so grateful to my family, especially my lovely wife who inspires daily and helps me turn all of my overly-ambitious and frenetic ideas into reality. When I'm not being an urbanist, you can usually find me hiking, snowboarding, and getting into nature.
