Resume Portfolio And a pretty though

Dear This is pop Team, I’m applying for this position in your company because I see this as an epic opportunity to match two of my greatest passions, game making and graphic design. As I will explain further in my bio, I have many experiences with more than one area of the video game industry, so here I would like to explain in a more personal level why I would belong in your team.

Reason 1

I’m a Renaissance girl - I’ve a broad experience in game art, UI making, game design, modeling, gamification, game blogging, interaction design, augmented reality, game development and even organizing game conventions and I still have time to snow board on the weekends.

Reason 2

I’m Obsessive - Well within reason, I’m not crazy or anything, but I’m so passionate about games that I’ll give anything to make the game that I’m working for as shinning and splendid as possible through as many iterations as I need to make that happen. Time permitting, of course. I know the world is full of deadlines.

Reason 3

I’m a Huge Nerd - If have someone who will make great referential jokes isn’t enough I also love the web and techy things and computers and what makes them tick. I constantly look for new ways to do my work, new programs, new sites and new methodologies. I won’t let my tools slow me down, and I can fix them when they break. I’m not saying I can debug a crashing of Maya, but only because my thing is java script.

I can’t wait to hear from you. – Gabriela

objective Ever since I can remember I’ve been playing video games, even when my only skill was just drawing in a scholar notebook. My drawings were always about creatures and imaginary worlds that habit in games. As I evolved my skills in the 4 years of Graphic Design College in Brazil, I realized that game art that combines conceptual ideas such as science, design and technology is my final goal as an artist and designer. In 2012 I was granted a scholarship to study games in the United States by the Brazilian government, my home country, and the institute of international education IIE. With that big grant I intent to gather entrepreneurial experiences to make the Brazilian field of games develop to a level worth of great amount of players that my country have.

some works in photoshop Photoshop is a base program for me that I’ve been using for many years. For typical graphic design, when you already have the dimensions of the archive it’s a great tool to make posters, websites layouts, cards. It’s one of the most color aware programs.

Gamewise, I have been using photoshop to make storyboards, speed paintings, concepts for characters.

Others in illustrator Vectorial art is the conventional look of this age because instantly portraits a cleaner and more modern look. I choose to use illustrator when the project size is uncertain, or when a really nice concept needs to be cleaned and polished.

Also like Photoshop, illustrator is a powerful tool for digitalizing concept art and creating iconic graphics.

Positive Posters Submission The concept of this poster is to make a concept that would make people think more cheerfully about life. The quote is from my favourite author, Neil Gaiman.

Flash My animation tool I must admit, before coming to the united states I had my problems with this program. I didn’t understand how to make the drawn lines obbey my stroke style. After taking the course Animation 2 at Parsons, I understood that flash is a powerful vectorial sketch tool.

Not only to make rough animations but also clean ones. Also, action script is an artist friendly coding language that I really enjoy.
