I am an architect at this moment studying on second course M.Arch at Vilnius Gediminas technical university. My main passion is architecture as an interdisciplinary instrument and, contrary, object which could be explained in interdisciplinary ways.
Education
In 2018 I have graduated from B.Arch in VGTU with a project „Interdisciplinary art centre in Žvėrynas“ and I have decided to proceed my studies in M.Arch with a thesis „Implementation of memory in architecture. A case of memorial centre in a former Vilnius small Jewish ghetto“
Professional
After my internship at “AEXN” architecture studio I was invited to join the team and since 2018 I’ve been collaborating with “AEXN”. Since my first day I got a not typical task to self-dependently develop a concept for children playing space in Kaunas “Akropolis” as well as prepare a technical project which was implemented in 2019 and since then is working perfectly well technically and commercially. While this was my main project I also took a part in developing concept for healthcare facility building of interwar period in Klaipėda which was later chosen as successful and rescpecting heritage by Cultural heritage department committee. I did a few smaller scale projects like house technical project, helped with commercial interior design projects and furniture projects. Volunteering Also I have volunteering and organizational experience in architectural events. In 2017 for almost a year I took a part in „Architecture [discussion] fund“ as a photographer of lectures. Same year together in a team of my fellow university friends I took a part in reviving old tradition of „SIKON“ and creation of „City river“ workshop as a creator of conceptual and visual parts. Since 2018 I have became a part of „Nulinis laipsnis“ architecture gallery team as a visual content creator. Interdisciplinary I am not only interested in theoretical research as also in experimental part. While studying in B.Arch second course I got deep into visual art and improved my skills in animation studio. In 2017 I took a part in a group exhibition in „Open gallery“ as an artist with my video mapping „Kontaktas_1“. Since 2018 I take a part in „ArchMEDIALE“ project curated by „Nulinis laipsnis“ gallery as an audiovisual artist which was held in „The Swamp School“ pavillion of Lithuania in Venice architecture biennale which finalised in a form exhibition „TEST:0.1A“. I continued my research in a project this year by creating an artwork for a topic of „Swarms“. In a future i contemplate about deepening into architectural bondaries,to be exact – synthesis of architecture and video art. Best wishes G.

The aim of bachelor’s degree final work is to widen Lithuanian cultural background and propose concepts tightly refered to interdisciplinary. The site chosen for the project is between A. Mickevičius and Liubartas bridges on Neris waterfront, Žvėrynas. The site is surrounded by unique fine urban pattern of Žvėrynas as well as it is an important point of the urban axis of Gediminas ave. The concept of centre of interdisciplinary arts in Vilnius is inspired by main ideas of interdisciplinary art linking it to the flow of the river. Therefore the concept of bottom of the river is being developed. Minimalistic and laconic pebble like shapes are chosen by aiming to stay close to natural Žvėrynas urban structure scale. The building consists of three volumes on top of the ground floor. The first volume is dedicated to exposition, second - for public activities, third one - for artist residencies.Ground floor is dedicated for technical and technological rooms of art centre. Public use spaces are being formed around the building as well as Neris waterfrontt which is activated by designing a dock also used as a performing stage. While designing centre the main focus was not only to create a pure concept and architectural aesthetics, but also to give a sense of the need for such building in Vilnius

Concept proposed for this industrial territory is called “fragment+fragment”. It is about merging existing pattern of unique to Naujamiestis wooden architecture with non existant “green” pattern - lithuanian nature - swamp, wood and dune. The aim of this was to accentuate the existing “out of place” pattern by creating a small heterotopy around it.

“Something, which is nothing, persists as a blank page for your democratic thoughts.” The Papierward Island, in Zurich, is mental and physical space for debate. Constant change and their imperfections are rooted in the identity of the place. These values stimulate political and spatial imagination of Zurich citizens. Democracy as the present political system is not a fixed axiom, but rather theorem, which always needs to be reapproved in the discussion. Therefore we propose to create space as a blank sheet of the paper, platform, which would stimulate discussions and where debates could take place in. Let’s imagine freie Limmat as a democratic catalyst.

the ritual In the world, where no one reads this and where dinosaurs and crazy creatures roam the earth, a spaceship landed. the spaceship was clearly not a regular one. When it was trying to settle on earth it extended its’ legs, the so caled columns, on which it calmly rests. Following that, it released the connections to the land - the ramps. The spaceship itself was well known for its’ eco-friendliness as it collects rain water on the roof and brings it back to the earth. What is more, as it is connected to the earth it went deep down to collect geothermal energy. Not to mention it was constructed from natural materials such as clay finishing on the elevations and wood flooring on the balconies and ramps. The spaceship is still resting on earth, waiting for some creatures to inhabit it.

The object of research is sound swarm as citys’ acoustic instrument. City sound consists of micro and macro, overlapping and changing, starting and ending sub sound layers. Each time chosing different location for acoustic section a unique sound swarm musical artpiece is made. Everytime it is based on activity and intersynthesis of subsounds. Art piece has its’ own beggining and ending, its’ manier of performance, rhythm, tonality, relationship between sound and silence. All these elements are formed by urban and nature pattern of a city

Žmogus įeina pro vienintelį įėjimą. Apskritimas - nuorodą į pabėgimo angos formą. Dvylipumas - įėjimas yra išėjimo inversija - juoda anga baltame fone.Juodu objektu baltame fone referuojama į gėdą. Tai tarsi juoda dėmė, sudergtas sterilios žemės plotas. Nuorodą į Vilniaus Geto plano ribas. Išdegusios žemės kvartalais, referuojantys į bandymą ištrinti, išdeginti prisiminimus (damnatio memoriae). Įėjęs į erdvę žmogus pamato vienintelį išėjimą. Apaskritimas - pabėgimo anga. Švaraus įėjimo inversija - baltas plyšys juodame fone. Perėjimas nuo urbanistinio audinio į infrastruktūrą. Vienintelis išėjimas, kurį reikia įveikti - nnuotekų dangtis - perlipimo per save simbolis. Už atidengto dangčio matomas Vilniaus senamiestis - Vilniaus getas. Simboliškai matomas išįjimo lipdukas ir gaisro mygtukas - pabėgimas. Neišdrįsęs lipti per save, grįžta tuo pačiu keliu atgal. Balta teritorija sterilioje aplinkoje. Pabėgimas nuo savęs ir realybės, tiesos nepripažinimas , tekėjimas pasroviui. Patyręs nesuvokimą ir besigėdyjantis realybės žmogus dažniausiai atmeta tikrovę ir pasirenka neutralią poziciją, kurioje sąmoningai vengia pastebėti aplink jį vykstančius procesus ir jų pasėkmes.
