OBJECTIVE

I am a highly motivated, hard working 20 year old with set goals and a positive attitude to achieve. I am very creative and at times competitive. I love working with people and can work well under pressure.

EDUCATION

I am currently in my second year at Nottingham Trent University studying Fashion Promotion and Communication. I thoroughly enjoy my course and am very enthusiastic when it comes to learning about brands and new trends. I received a 2:1 in my first year. I also attended Northgate High School, Ipswich, Suffolk (2004-2011) completing: A levels: Sociology (A), Media (B) and Biology (C). GCSEs: 7 subjects grade A*-C, including English, Maths and Science.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES COMMUNICATION

• Experienced in dealing effectively with a wide range of customers in restaurants and bars. • Gave many formal and informal presentations as part of my course. • Developed report-writing skills from my work throughout my course in Nottingham.

LEADERSHIP

• Developed leadership skills from a young age including encouraging children to take part in different activities from my role as a guide leader. • Gained a sense of managerial experience during my time in bars by training and motivating new staff.

TEAMWORK

• Learned to adapt quickly to different teams through the variety of work I have undertaken. • Learned how to collaborate with and motivate others during my time in Nottingham Trent University chamber choir. • Gained insight into how teams develop strategies to deal with problems through participating as a team member in project assignments as part of my course. • Used techniques such as the Johari Window and Myers Briggs to understand others better which allows me to work more effectively in a team. • Learned how to solve problems with customers and in the workplace when working with a large team of staff.

ORGANISATION AND TIME MANAGEMENT • Working at the Suffolk Daily Times Magazine, I learnt how to prioritise certain tasks ensuring my work was completed on time. • Learned how to organise my time accordingly around my jobs and education. • Organised activities and events for a number of years whilst undertaking my role as a guide leader. • Learned how to organise and manage a team of staff efficiently and effectively when I had academic deadlines to meet.


EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES I am part of the Trent Bass Music Society and Fashion Promotion Society in Nottingham. I am also a member of the university chamber choir. I have also been fortunate enough to travel to New York and Berlin, where I visited tradeshows and experienced fashion within different cultures.

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS • I am an enthusiastic member of the choir and have recently moved up to chamber choir. • I have completed singing grades 4 – 8, achieving merits and distinctions. • I have progressed to a guide leader from a very young age.

WORK EXPERIENCE

BARTENDER, NOTTINGHAM TRENT SU, NOTTINGHAM (MARCH – PRESENT DAY 2014) • Work weekends and some weekdays, help in training new staff and handling customer complaints. Needed to be very good with people and busy pressured situations due to incentive targets being met throughout the shift.

MODEL, MODEL STUDENTS, NOTTINGHAM (JANUARY – PRESENT DAY 2014) • Participate in many shows and photo shoots. Requires flexibility and to be extremely reliable. Must be available at very short notice. Have experienced professional fashion shoots and shows.

BARTENDER, THE WINE BAR, IPSWICH (JUNE – PRESENT DAY 2013) • Out of term time, work mainly weekends, learned a high standard of service and adapted to the more sophisticated menu of wines and cocktails.

HAIR MODEL, VIDAL SASSOON, LONDON (AUGUST 2013) • Participated in shows and photo shoots, needed to be flexible and reliable as not much notice was always given when I was required to be available. Experienced how the company promotes their work globally.

OFFICE INTERN, SUFFOLK DAILY TIMES MAGAZINE, IPSWICH (JULY 2013) • Organised page layouts using InDesign software and wrote captions under photographs. Attended a fashion shoot, which featured in the magazine.

COCKTAIL WAITRESS/BARTENDER, BAD JUJU TIKI BAR, NOTTINGHAM (JANUARY – JUNE 2013) • Fully trained as a cocktail waitress and bar tender learning a wide range of complicated and well presented beverages. Needed to learn and adapt quickly to the fast paced atmosphere and the full product range of their ever-changing menu.

WAITRESS/BARTENDER: ISAACS ON THE QUAY, THE TOWNHOUSE RESTAURANT, ARLINGTONS BRASSERIE, IPSWICH (2008 – 2012) • Worked weekdays and weekends progressing to supervising the bar at Isaacs on the Quay. All included high standard of waitressing and customer service. Trusted with filling up stock, closing and opening the bar/restaurant by myself and organising customer bookings especially during busy periods.
