My name is Gabrielle, I am from Silvis, IL. After graduating high school, I went onto college to pursue my passion for interior design. Upon starting the program I was strongly drawn to residential design, but I have grown a strong interest in commercial design. After graduating in the spring I look forward to furthering my skills in a full time position in such vast growing industry.

NAVI Navi is a seafood restaurant located on the front strip of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina designed with inspiration from the movie Avatar. This movie has tones of blues, nature, and industrial touches. These characteristics were the bases of Navi’s design, helping it come to life. Taking the essence of both the ocean and an imaginative world, turning them into reality made this project rewarding. Page | 6

ZOLPIDEM SLEEP CENTER Zolpidem Sleep center is a sleep center located in Scottsdale, Arizona. With this project we were tasked to design a healthcare facility after taking a private tour and doing research about the specialty we were assigned. During my tour I learned valuable facts about sleep centers and what they entail. With this information I created Zolpidem Sleep Center.

DICK’S SPORTING GOODS OFFICE After Submitting an RFP, I was accepted to redesign a Dick’s sporting goods marketing office in Atlanta, Georgia. We wanted to create an interactive space that allowed the company to showcase their products. After close communication with my clients we were able to achieve the office design they were looking for.

Hand Rendering The figures above feature the process of formulating, adding color, shading, and texturing of an image. These can also be used to describe the quality of execution of that process. By using hand rendering, a project can be taken from preliminary design to the final design efficiently.

PERSPECTIVE FROM NAVI OF CUSTOM 3D PRINTED LIGHT FIXTURE

01. Team- Individual Project Duration- Unlimited Tools- 3D Printer, Spray Paint, Upholstery Materials and Tools, Sketch-Up Pro

3D Printing, Modeling, and Furniture Design Hands-on-crafts have always interested me because spending time to build something by hand can turn a piece into something truly special. After starting my design career, I was compelled to try 3D printing in order to turn my ideas from computer programs into real life objects. Since many things can be difficult to imagine, printing them out can be a powerful tool for a client to fully capture a vision and excel a project to the next level.

3D PRINTED LIGHT FIXTURE

CHAIR REUPHOLSTERER

Given the task to design a functioning light fixture, I took it upon myself to stretch the limits of past projects. Designing and 3D printing a lamp used in Navi, this project is very unique.

The goal for this chair was to recondition it better than its former glory. By changing the fabric and stain of the chair, it has been given new life and appeal. The chair is still in being worked on and is expected to be of use for many years in the future.

FURNITURE PROJECT 3D PRINTED FLOORPLAN This past Fall I was entered into a competition and traveled to Las Vegas. For the contest we wanted to show the audience something they’ve never seen before. 3D printing the competition home helped us better present our ideas to the judges.

For one of our projects we were tasked with designing a furniture piece. Using tattered drawers, a table will be built to show that anything can be restored if a creative mind can think of a way to make it work.

01.

Study Aboard Australia The summer of 2018 I was given the opportunity to study abroad in Australia for two weeks. This trip has change my perspective on design completely. Other countries design differ much from ours in many ways. This has allowed me to reach outside my comfort zone to try new techniques I might not have attempted before attending this trip. I was also grateful for being taught part of a new culture to better appreciate other walks of life. This is an experience I will be able to use the rest of my career.
