Laceby Development Coda Planning Ltd. Work Experience 29/6/2016
“Gabriel was with us at CODA Planning during June and July 2016 to provide planning and urban design assistance during a busy summer. He helped us out on a few different sites but in particular provided really valuable assistance on a site in the village of Laceby, near Grimsby. We’re working on a scheme of up to 100 homes on the site and by developing initial site layouts Gabriel showed keen awareness of the myriad influencing factors that must be taken into account, a real willing to get involved, and in addition helped to bring positive urban design features into a more traditional, run of the mill residential site. Charles Dunn, Senior Planner Coda Planning Ltd. 03/10/2016

Final Design The development was designed in a pattern that would complement the existing cul-de-sac street patterns already exhibited in Laceby and other proposed housing developments (Linden Homes). Effort was made to provide greenspace for local residents by utilising existing open areas such as the Flood Risk Mitigation Zone by turning them into miniature parks. Each street was connected via a series of pathways to increase the overall porosity of the area. These were then connected to the existing public footpath to the south east of the site.
