WESTERN DRESSAGE: Western Dressage merges the conventional sequential and progressive training methods from traditional Dressage with conventional stock horse gaits. Like traditional Dressage, Western Dressage aims to find balance, cadence and carriage through a series of progressive tests. The tests are designed to determine the horse and rider’s competency in core skills. Currently Western Dressage horses are tested at six levels: Introductory, Basic, Levels 1-3 and Freestyle. This show offers Intro through Level 3 plus Freestyle; each level is test of choice.
SUITABILITY CLASSES Dressage/Eventing type - displays the conformation and movement qualities as follows: Horses of this type carry a higher set-on neck than the Hunter type with sufficient length and flexion of the poll. Movement should be free, elastic, active and regular with good push from behind without tension and with a tendency toward an uphill balance. Hunter type - displays the conformation and movement qualities as follows: Horses of this type carry a more level frame than the Dressage type horse, yet must display a natural looking carriage. Movement should have good ground cover and tend to be long and low with good push from behind, free of tension and showing good balance.

"Sport Horse Under Saddle Class" is open to Dressage/Eventing and Hunter Suitability horses/ponies. To be shown at the walk, trot, and canter both directions of the ring.
