Reservation deadline for Art Camp 2012 at Lake Sequoia, off of Highway 180 about 3 miles before reaching Grant Grove in Kings Canyon National Park. All materials are provided. . We need an e-mail response and checks in the mail no later than Wednesday, August 1 st. The cost of the camp is based on a minimum of 35 people, so our go-ahead requires at least 35 paid participants. In the event that we don’t get 35 paid participants, camp will not be held this year. Cost $125 per person (includes lodging, meals Friday dinner through Sunday lunch). Make Checks payable to Megan Bohigian (camp wants one check for entire group). Questions? Our Art Hop Trolley’s first stop is At the Art By Hand Water Tower Gallery & Gift Shop 2444 Fresno Street, where you can park and ride! Cost is $1.00. (Pay only once!) The short line stops every 15 minutes, stays around downtown and there is music. The extended line goes out to the Tower District with storytelling. This is a monthly newsletter. Pottery Classes: Jim and Sandy Gregory in Reedley are retired teachers and will be starting pottery classes in their home "studio" for adults and children. Jim has been in the Reedley High School Art Department for over 30 years and teaching night classes at Reedley College. They work with clay slabs and the potter’s wheel. He has a wide selection of samples done in various methods including Raku from Japan and Southwestern Native American style where he attended workshops in Taos, New Mexico. He does custom items for special orders from lamp bases to dinnerware and even mug orders for the local fun-run in Sanger. Classes will be taught by Sammy Gonzales: Sammy Gonzalez is an advocate of Fresno and all it has to offer. He has always been drawn to the creative process involved in producing art. He usually finds the process more intriguing than the finished project. Although Sammy focuses on oil painting, he also illustrates, draws, and enjoys graphic design. Sammy only recently started his art career after discovering how naturally painting comes to him. He has a degree in Kinesiology: Exercise Science, with a minor in Rehabilitation, from CSU Fresno. Although he enjoys the physical rehabilitation field, he feels his true talent belongs to the art world and hopes to find a lifetime of success doing what he loves. Sammy finds inspiration everywhere, and desires to inspire those around him to bring more art into their lives.
