SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Whether you are an experienced shooter perfectly familiar with the procedures in this use and maintenance manual or have some or no familiarity with a gun, it is imperative that you carefully and thoroughly read this entire Use and Maintenance Manual and follow all safety instructions to ensure that you are familiar with the proper and safe use of this firearm in order to prevent personal injury, death or property damage.
Instructions:
* Before shooting, learn the mechanical features and handling practices of this gun. Read and be thoroughly familiar with these safety instructions. If you do not fully understand any of the instructions in this manual, please consult a competent firearm instructor through your gun dealer. If you live in the United States, contact your local GUN CLUB or the NRA in WASHINGTON or contact CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY at 860-225-6581.
* Always point the gun in a safe direction and handle it as though it is loaded. This is particularly important when loading and unloading the gun, as well as when handing the gun to another person. Never take someone's word that the gun is unloaded, but always check it yourself with your fingers off the trigger and the gun pointed in a safe direction.
*While on a shooting range, always carry the gun unloaded and open until you get ready to shoot.
* Never drink alcoholic beverages or take any drugs before or while shooting, as this not only constitutes criminal discharging for your safety and that of others, but you will seriously impair your judgment and vision. Moreover, do not use a gun while you are taking medication unless you have checked with your doctor to ensure you are fit enough to handle the gun safely.
* Always keep the safety ON, until you are ready to safely shoot at an intended target (see "Safety Features" above).
AMMUNITION
Instructions: Since your gun has been designed for specific gauge and caliber ammunition (be certain of your gun's caliber and chamber size stamped on your gun) use only good condition, original, highquality, commercially manufactured ammunition specifically recommended for the gun and appropriate
to its caliber and nothing else. Never use reloaded or hand-loaded ammunition. Never carry the gun with a round in the chamber until you are ready to shoot.
Caution: Manufacturers design guns and ammunition within precise safety limits. Since handloads are often outside those limits, they are not to be used. Ammunition that is too small or inappropriate to the caliber of the gun could fall forward in the barrel and become an obstruction, and an unwary shooter/hunter loading the gun again will cause, when shooting, the gun to explode.
LOADING
Instructions:
* Before loading, make sure you have read and are thoroughly familiar with all safety instructions contained in this manual.
TO LOAD THE GUN:
Caution: Use only the ammunition described in the section of this manual entitled "AMMUNITION". Do not use reloaded or hand-loaded ammunition.
Caution: Manufacturers design guns and ammunition within precise safety limits. Since handloads are often outside those limits, they are not to be used. Ammunition which is too small or inappropriate to the caliber of the gun could fall forward in the barrel, causing an obstruction and an unwary shooter/hunter loading again will cause, when shooting, the gun to explode.
Instructions:
* Before loading, make sure you have read and are thoroughly familiar with all safety instructions contained in this manual. Always point the gun in a safe direction and do not touch the trigger while loading.
* Use only good condition, original, high-quality, commercially manufactured ammunition which is specifically recommended for the gun and appropriate to its caliber and nothing else (see "AMMUNITION" section above).
* Always check barrel bores, chambers, and the action/frame of the gun to ensure they are perfectly clean and clear of obstructions. Clean a fouled gun immediately to ensure its correct and safe functioning.
*When a round is in the chamber, and regardless of the safety devices, the gun may discharge accidentally if it is dropped or receives a blow.
* Never put a round in the chamber until the gun is in your hand and you are ready to shoot. Clear the gun of empty rounds immediately after shooting.
* Make sure the slide lock safety is ON while the gun is cocked and prepared to fire. Otherwise, the gun could accidentally discharge causing injury, death, or property damage.
FIRING
Instructions:
* Before firing, make sure you have read and are thoroughly familiar with all safety instructions in this manual. With your gun unloaded and before firing your CONNECTICUTSHOTGUN MFG COMPANY shotgun, practice your stance, aim, rhythm, and breathing in order to get a steady aim.
* Wear ear protection when shooting, especially on a shooting range, as the noise from your gun and other guns close to you could result in a humming or ringing sound in an exposed ear for some time after firing.
Repeated exposure to gunfire without ear protection can result in permanent hearing loss.
*Always wear protective shooting glasses to protect your eyes from injury caused by gun powder, gas, lubricant, dirt or metallic particles, carbon residue, sparks or other debris.
To fire:
*Be sure you are familiar with all "safety instructions" in this manual.
* Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction.
* Do not smoke while handling, loading, or shooting any ammunition.
* Never run, cross obstacles such as streams or ditches or climb fences or trees with a loaded gun.
*Never follow a companion with a loaded gun.
* Always use extreme care with a misfire or failure to fire. Keep the gun pointed in a safe direction and wait one full minute because if a hang-fire or slow ignition has occurred, the round will still fire. If the round fails to fire after waiting, remove the round and examine the primer. Immediately refer to a competent gunsmith if you notice that the firing pin indent on the primer is light, off-center, or does not exist. Dispose of misfired rounds according to the ammunition manufacturer's instructions.
* Do not put your finger inside the trigger guard until you have pointed the gun at the intended target and you are imminently ready to shoot safely.
* Always be aware of other people around you. Keep spectators or others at your rear.
* Immediately cease shooting if your gun fails to function properly. Never force a jammed action, which could cause a round to explode and consequent personal injury, death, or damage to your gun or other property.
*When selecting a place to shoot, always be absolutely sure of your target and the area behind it before you touch the trigger. Make sure there is an adequate backstop that can stop and contain the bullets or shots. Bullets and shots can travel through or past your target. If you have any doubt, do not shoot.
* Never shoot at flat or hard surfaces, such as rocks, or at water. The bullet or shots may ricochet and travel in unpredictable directions to strike you, or an object you cannot see, causing injury, death or property damage.
*Never shoot near an animal as the animal could be startled and cause an accident.
* Never engage in "horseplay" while holding a gun. UNLOADING Instructions: *Before unloading, be sure you are familiar with all "safety instructions" in this manual.
UNLOADING
Instructions:
Before unloading, ensure you are familiar with all safety instructions in the manual.
Clear your gun of empty rounds immediately after use and before cleaning.
To Unload the Gun:
*Be sure you are familiar with all "safety instructions" in this manual.
* Keep your gun pointing in a safe direction. Keep your fingers off the trigger and always keep your hands and face away from the muzzle and the ejection port, as ejected rounds could cause injury.
*Check the chamber and barrel bores to make sure they are empty and clear of obstructions.
MAINTENANCE
To Assemble and Disassemble the Gun:
(Fig. 1) - Release the forend from the barrels by means of the release button or fore-end catch lever.
(Fig. 2) - Insert the barrels into the action making sure that the ejector ends (see the arrow) fit their seats in the action perfectly.
(Fig. 3) - Push the top lever to the right and position the barrels horizontally. The top lever will close automatically when the gun is assembled.
(Fig. 4) - Put the forend onto the barrels making sure that the forend iron fits to the action hinge.
(Fig. 5) - Fix the forend onto the barrels pressing the release button or ore-end catch lever downwards

Caution: Make sure the gun is not loaded before disassembling and cleaning it so that it will not fire accidentally. Be sure to wear safety glasses to protect against uncontrolled spring-loaded components or other dirt or debris.
* Do not disassemble the gun further than described above. If the gun requires further maintenance, refer to the section "Service and Repair" below.
To Clean the Gun:
CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY shotguns are simple to maintain. However, a few important operations must be carried out to keep your CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY shotgun in top condition.
Instructions:
* After each hunting or shooting day, we suggest cleaning the barrel bores with a cloth bore brush. If you carry out this operation regularly, you will not have to use a metal bore brush
*Wipe a cloth with a drop of the special CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY oil on the barrel surface and metal parts to remove all traces of dirt and perspiration: the worst enemies of steel.
* Before putting your gun away at the end of a hunting season, disassemble it and remove the action. Assemble it again only when it is completely dry and after spraying it with a film of the special CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY oil. Do not use any grease.
To Store the Gun:
Instructions:
*Store the gun in a dry place, never store the gun loaded. Always store the gun and ammunition separately in their proper receptacles, beyond children’s reach and sight.
* Ensure that your gun is unloaded before storing it or handing it to another person.
* Never leave a gun unattended, especially a loaded one, as someone, especially a child, could accidentally fire it, causing injury, death, or property damage
* Never keep a loaded gun in a vehicle or lean one against an object. Never carry the gun loaded.
SERVICE AND REPAIR
Instructions:
NOTE: Use only genuine, authorized CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY spare parts for your gun to ensure its proper functioning.
NOTE: Each country has its own laws regulating firearm transfer and transport. Consult your local authorized gun dealer, before shipping your gun. When you ship the gun, make sure that IT IS NOT LOADED
* Include a detailed note explaining the problem, along with the model name and serial number and the return address, and a copy of the gun manufacturer's certificate.
* Pack the gun, without accessories or ammunition, in a thoroughly padded package and insure it against loss or theft.
* Do not modify or adjust your gun.
* If your gun needs repairs or adjustments, take it or have it sent unloaded to the CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY Service Center You can also call the
CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY Service Center at phone number 860-225-6581 for the latest pricing and information.
CHOKES
* All CONNECTICUT SHOTGUN MFG COMPANY 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore shotguns come with interchangeable chokes: this is an important feature as it means that you can change the choke constriction simply by changing the choke tube, while keeping the same performance as with a fixed choke. 5 (five) chokes are provided with each gun, along with a wrench
* Chokes can be screwed into the barrels with your fingers applying an average pressure. If a choke is particularly stiff, do not force it. When tightening with the wrench, apply only slight pressure, not excessive force.

*Whenever you clean the barrels also clean and oil the chokes. If, for any reason, the chokes lose their shape or get dented, you will have to replace them so as not to impair the safety and the ballistic performance of the barrels.
