ABOUT US

Galbraith & Paul was founded by Liz Galbraith & Ephi Paul in 1986 in Philadelphia and began as a small hand paper making studio. Trained as a painter, Liz’s heart was always in craft. When she discovered hand block printing in the 1990’s, we changed direction and evolved into a fabric design and block printing studio, catering to the world of interiors.

As an artist, Liz designs all of our patterns, drawing inspiration from nature and textile traditions. With each design, she hones her point of view and adds something missing to the mix, always striving towards an edited but complete collection.

As painters, we look at the world through color, and we develop and mix our own paints. Using layers of pigment and degrees of translucency, we’ve created a varied palette inspired by plants and natural dyes, and known for its clarity and depth.

As printmakers, we carry on and innovate the ancient craft of hand block printing. We make our own blocks and use painterly techniques to blend colors on the block, evoking a subtle and elegant surface unlike any other.

Our Wallpapers and Fabrics are made to order and sold to the Design Trade through Showrooms in the U.S. and Internationally.
