COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

Several years ago our school started to collaborate with primary schools in town in order to agree with goals, tools, resources to be used as a way to build a bridge between primary and secondary school. The most important change we have implemented is a collaborative project in 1st ESO grade taking as a basis students’ real life environment. The two important changes we have introduced in those projects are the participation of all curriculum subjects trying to boost a significant learning in them. The other main value of those projects is the change in the assessment: pupils evaluate their work as an important part of the tasks.

Astronomy group

JOBSHADOWING AT SCHOOL

Every teacher’s pedagogical team makes proposals and ideas generated from our attendance to 2019-2020 mobilities to Finland and Estonia. Our main goal is to implement co-teaching, especially in two kind of groups: those that are coming from primary school and need to get used to secondary school life and the ones that are in the last course of their academiclevel and need different strategies and resources in order to pass compulsory and objective exams which are needed to continue with their academic life in a successful way.

TEACHERS TRAINING:

Due to pandemic COVID-19 we have improved some resources in order to help teachers in their daily lessons. “Monthly APP” and “Moodle”, leadered by technology teachers, offer to all colleagues new resources to be implemented in our lessons, focusing on those which help in online tasks. The resource has been extremely successful and we have continued working with it during 2021 and 2022 school years.

TRAINING TEACHERS AND DIGITAL BOOKS

Due to confinement measures, last school year had to be finished at home and both teachers and pupils made a great effort in order to carry on with online lessons. We realized then, that our digital books were not as useful as we needed and we decided to change them. The use of digital books became widespread in all subjects, didactic departments and levels. This important decision meant to start different workshops: not all teachers were used to this kind of material. Therefore, the head of each didactic department attended a course with the publishing houses in order to help their colleagues and all students in the management of the resource as well.

ENTRENEURSHIP

Entrepreneurship lectures are concerned with the testimony of new and exciting projects. In today’s lecture, Belén Jürschik, Casa Dalmases’ secretary, explained the path of her social Project. Casa Dalmases Foundation, established in 2012, works with people at risk of social exclusion, favouring the insertion and enhancement of this group, helping with its Project to strengthen local trade and enhancing territory of La Segarra (Catalan county). Despite the start in the world of brewing, the foundation also hosts a project as a collector of works of art and for some years now, and after a selfless transfer, they also have a workshop in the manufacture of homemade and traditional chocolate. Belén has mentioned the importance of the Project not for its economic benefit as a private company, but as a way to give a chance to people who have a difficult life, so that they can enjoy a workspace which helps them not only to feel fulfilled but to improve their lives as well , which is in fact the real purpose of the foundation.
