STUDENT LEARNING FROM HOME GUIDELINES TERM 3 2021 GETTING ORGANISED Set up a clear and comfortable study space for your laptop, workbooks and other study materials. GoogleClassroom will be used to communicate instructions, materials and resources for lessons. Your teachers will email you invitations to GoogleMeet video conferences when you are required to attend them. Keep water and healthy snacks near by. Stand up and stretch often. Plan for physical activity throughout the day.

STAYING CONNECTED There will be a compulsory homeroom via your homeroom GoogleClassroom at 9.00am Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri, and 8.45am Wednesday. Your homeroom teacher will hold a GoogleMeet each Wednesday from 8.45am - 9.15am. Join in to catch up and connect with your peers. Your teacher will email you when a GoogleMeet is required. All work will be posted to GoogleClassrooms. Your teachers and Learning Mentors will be contactable via email during your normal scheduled periods. Check your emails regularly. Remember the FIRST principles apply to online learning. Be respectful, act with integrity, showing care for yourself and others.

LEARNING AND WELLBEING RESOURCES The eResource Centre provides access to e-books, audiobooks, encyclopedias and subject resources. You can also email duty.librarian@galen.vic.edu.au if you need assistance with resources or research. The Wellbeing Centre staff will be available via wellbeing@galen.vic.edu.au. You and your parents and guardians can also continue to contact your homeroom teacher via email firstname.lastname@galen.vic.edu.au. The IT support desk is available via email to itsupport@galen.vic.edu.au. Your Learning Mentor will be available for learning support via email firstname.lastname@galen.vic.edu.au.

VIDEO CONFERENCING PROTOCOLS FOR STUDENTS In alignment with Child Safe and Galen's Digital Citizenship Policy, always connect to a video conference from a communal space like your dining area or lounge, never from your bedroom or behind a closed door.

Dress for a video conference like you would for school on a casual clothes day. Wearing your school shirt is encouraged. No pyjamas please. When joining a GoogleMeet video conference; Always mute your microphone and camera. Your teacher will explain how to do this.
