Discovering contemporary talents near and far, Galerie Raphael Davao presents “The Pinnacle” by Art Bongawan, the artist’ s first solo exhibition comprising multi-dimensional vantage points of the female silhouette beautifully embellished in drapes of striking gold

Attempting to display and expand the capabilities of the human form, Art Bongawan reaches his peak as he devoutly explores the conditions of the female silhouette. He presents these conditions in ways that mystify our perception – Bongawan intentionally limits our access to the female gaze through visual cues. In particular, the lack of eye contact and demure body language effectively signals a curiosity and an intimate sense of interest as we, the viewers, wish to know more about what can be discovered beyond what is presented.

In view of Bongawan’ s conceptualization, his stylized shapes of black and white distorted silhouettes add great depth to his overall composition and form; hoping to creatively tell a story for each curve and expression of their body, mind, and soul Bongawan further explains, “The artworks presented are just a piece of me It has its own stories to tell … The dark shades are all the struggles and challenges I faced before I achieved what I have now. ”

Essentially, “The Pinnacle” is Bongawan’ s prime exultation of the female psyche, representing the innate mystery and fantasy that femininity exudes, showcased through an impressive form of storytelling using adroit concept, technique, and skill

Art is my motivation toward success. Through art, I have brought myself to a place I’ ve never been before. I’ ve been practicing a lot of media, and I have been exploring different styles that fit my personality, but now, I have finally found it After a long run, I was able to establish my own style

I am just a simple guy, not the type who talks too much, but through art, I am able to express my feelings and show my skills and talent. I purely found my blessedness through art I promised my parents that in the near future, all of our dreams will come true, and now, I realized that I didn’t make a wrong decision. I believe that I am on the right path and it is being guided by Almighty God.

Many people believe that when it comes to art, it’ s a means of communication for artists who can ’t verbally speak their opinions, feelings, and thoughts But for me, I want to be the spokesperson for the things unseen by many. I want to express myself and not just to impress. This is my passion, this is my life, and I want to inspire, not just other artists, but also other people that no matter how hard life is, we must keep our faith Never surrender because life goes on It is just a matter of how we handle things Just believe in Him and believe in yourself.
