Recycled Art Expo Attention ALL Galileo Scholars! Help celebrate Earth Day by entering Galileo’s Recycled Art Contest. Buy nothing and just use any type of trash to be recycled into a creative piece of art. There will be prizes for 7th and 6th grade winners. Enter by bringing your “green creation” to Mrs. Couey and Mrs. Franco in Room 2 by April 20, 2010. Don’t forget to fill out a name label. This contest is sponsored by Galileo School of Math and Science and the GS2 PTA. Here are some tips on things you can use around the house for your artwork: paper cups, string, plastic bottles, pop cans, CDs, paper bags, tissue boxes, paper clips, paper plates, old ribbons, old socks, plastic bags from the supermarket, shoe boxes, old tissue paper, left over wrapping paper, newspaper, magazines, candy wrappers, cereal boxes, egg cartons, plastic utensils, discarded toys, popsicle sticks, toilet paper rolls and paper towel tubes. Just about anything that is thrown away as trash can be used.
