.Support for New Signers To ensure an accessible environment for deaf and hard of hearing students who are new or emerging signers, Gallaudet provides services so that you won’t miss a thing. •
JumpStart: ASL is a four-week summer program that includes formal instruction and immersion in ASL and the opportunity to get to know the campus ahead of time.

Gallaudet Interpreting Service conducts American Sign Language and English interpretation in the classroom and at campus events. GIS provides thousands of hours of interpreting services on campus annually.

Real-time captioning services are ofered as needed in the classroom and at campus events.

Many deaf and hard of hearing students at Gallaudet qualify for fnancial assistance from their state’s Vocational Rehabilitation agency.
