Revival Of The Short Track Racing Up Jurby
When it comes to Motorsport on the Isle of Man, we’re spoilt for choice on an array of different disciplines to get involved with. It’s no surprise that, on an Island that has a rich motorcycling heritage, that’s there’s an abundance of events and clubs on Island.
If you’re involved in motorbike racing on the Island, it’s hard to escape Jurby. There are a number of clubs hosting events both on & off road.
Near to the Jurby airfield that hosts a manx short circuit (tarmac) championship, there’s the kart track which was rebuilt and designed with karting in mind. That said two wheeled racing also takes place on the circuit across three different classes. Plops (Honda C90’s) Supermoto’s and Pit Bikes.

For a track designed for kart racing, it’s a small technical track, the current kart lap record is a 45.09 second lap which is a seriously impressive time. Back on two wheels though the fastest lap is in the Supermoto class with David Pearce with a 49.02 second lap.
This year the championships continue, promising another competitive season across all classes.
