LOCAL BAR SHORTLISTS FOR TWO UK BAR AWARDS

Kiki Lounge and Drew Fleming of Extra Fancy Limited have been shortlisted for the CLASS Bar Awards. Kiki Lounge has been nominated ‘Bar Employer of the Year’ which acknowledges the company’s commitment to creating a positive working environment for its team.

The Class Bar Awards ceremony recognises outstanding bars across the UK, and Kiki Lounge is up against some tough competition from Speakeasy Entertainment in London which owns and operates cocktail institution ‘Nightjar’, the UK’s best bar in 2021 ‘Lab 22’ in Cardiff, and all-around good time ‘Junkyard Golf’ in London. Meanwhile, Drew Fleming is competing against bartenders from some of the best bars across the country for the Emerging Bartender of the Year award.

Kiki Lounge's commitment to their team's wellness is one of the unique ways they show their dedication to creating a positive working environment. Each full-time staff member of staff is given a monthly allowance to spend on themselves and on something that will improve their overall wellness; whether it be a gym membership, a massage, or anything else they feel will benefit them. In addition to this, Kiki Lounge hosts regular socials for the team.

Drew Fleming, on the other hand, is an emerging bartender who has accomplished a great deal in his young career. Born and raised on the Isle of Man, Drew joined Extra Fancy Limited as a bar support staff in 2018 and quickly rose through the ranks to become a Director and shareholder of the company. In October 2022 Drew was the inaugural recipient of The 50 Best Bars ‘The Blend Scholarship’. Which saw drew undertake stages working for both The Connaught Bar in London and Katana Kitten in Manhattan, NYC.

The winners of the CLASS Bar Awards will be announced on 23rd May 2023 at Battersea Arts Centre in London.
