While a busy student with lots of difficult studies, she also served as the editor of the Yale Law Journal. During this time, she actively promoted the idea of hiring Latino professors at universities. For five years, she worked as an Assistant District Attorney in New York. After that, she worked at a private law firm. Already, her hard work and legal skills were getting attention. Soon she was named to the U.S. District Court of New York. President George H.
