Kid’s Essays: Why I Love Rodeo Jayanna H 10 Years Old

To Whom It May Concern:My name is Jayanna. I am 10 years old. I go to school as a 4th grader at Ganado Intermediate School. I am from a little community called Beshbetoh, which is about 30 miles West of Ganado near the Hopi reservation line. I am writing in regards to the sponsorship you are willing to give to a few children. I would gladly appreciate it if I would get the honor to represent your business by your sponsorship. I rodeo and participate in Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, and this year Roping. My passion is Rodeo; I love looking forward to my weekends because I know I have a rodeo to go to and get to travel. I have two horses, and it does take a lot to rodeo and travel. My mom is a single parent, due to the loss of my father in a motor vehicle accident. This sponsorship will not only help me but allow me to keep on Rodeoing. Thank you for your time! Jayanna

Adoncia H 11 Years Old

Dear Doctor Bob,Hello my name is Adoncia and I am 11 years old. I am from Beshbetoh, Arizona, and I am a 6th grader at Ganado Middle School. I participate in many school sports and activities such as volleyball, basketball, track, Student Council, and the National Junior Honor Society. I am a straight A student. I am very out-going and I love to help others. I may participate in many sports, but the one sport that I love the most is Rodeo. I am a Barrel Racer. I also participate in other events like flagracing, goat tying, breakaway roping, and pole bending. I love the sport of rodeo, and one day I hope to become a World Championship Barrel Racer in Las Vegas at the Indian National Finals Rodeo. I have memberships in 4 great associations which are the Central Navajo Rodeo Association, Southwest Junior Rodeo Association, Navajo Nation Rodeo Association, and the Southwest Indian Rodeo Association. Another very important membership I have is for the Indian National Finals Rodeo Association, and this will be my 2nd year with this association. I come from a great rodeo family which I have learned a lot from. I won two big rodeos this past year which were the Navajo Nation Fair and the Women’s Pro Rodeo Association 4th of July Rodeo in Window Rock. I love my two horses Smash and Ruby because they are the ones that tame me to the pay window and win me many awards.I would love for you to sponsor me this year in my rodeo because it would help me reach my goals and dreams in becoming a World Champion. It would also help because my mom is a single parent and she is trying her best to make my dreams a reality all on her own. I promise to represent you in the very best way possible and I will continue to always help others along the way. Adoncia

Zayla H 9 Years Old

Dear Dr. Bob,My name is Zayla, and I am 9 years old and I live in Rough Rock. I love Barrel Racing and Rodeo because when you are out there and you do something wrong you can fix and learn from it, also because I love my animals as much as I love my family. I have learned how to take responsibility for my animals. Thank you, Zayla

Duran H 6 Years Old

Hello, my name is Duran. I am 6 years old from White Rock, NM, and currently attending Lake Valley Navajo School as a Kindergarten Student. The event I participate in is Wooly Riding. To me Wooly Riding is more than just winning, it is a passion and helps keep me motivated and healthy. I work hard at what I do every day, not only in the practice pen, but also in school.

Being responsible is keeping my practice animals in good health, along with keeping myself healthy. I have been on the Honor Roll every quarter semester; keeping good grades is also important. I have won numerous events in the Region. Rodeo would be a lot easier on me and my family if I had a sponsor to help.

Darian H 5 Years Old

Hello, my name is Darian. I am 5 years old from a small community north of Crownpoint, NM, called White Rock, NM. I currently do not attend school because the nearest Pre-School is 50-miles round trip for my parents, and I am too young to attend Lake Valley Navajo School at this time. In the meantime, I am home-schooled by my parents. The event I participate in is Wooly Riding. The reason I choose to rodeo is because it is life to me. Rodeo takes me to many different places and has given me a chance to become well known and meet new people, especially some of the Navajo Nation’s top competitors. It also brings me closer to my family, as well. Every day, I practice and work out with my brother and sister. Our parents motivate us, support us, and do their best to keep us going into the right direction in life. My accomplishments in rodeo are numerous buckles, a saddle, gear bags, and various other prizes, all in the first year I have completed. Darian
