BLACK MEN HAVE NO ALLIES

are all part of a winning formula. People will always help you if they see that you are trying.

The horrendous number of deaths in our communities around the Country from gun violence, is a sad testimony to black intracommunity cannibalistic behavior. However, I am happy to report that the majority of our youth are marvelous young people in our communities with outstanding scholastic achievements, wonderful civic engagements, no interaction with the Criminal Justice System, and have terrific inter-family interactions. The media covers the “bad boys”, at the expense of our real newsworthy youth, who shine in community positivity. BUT WE KNOW WHO THEY ARE!!!

The point is that we have many reasons to celebrate who we are!!! Our people… our past… our present…and our continued vision for the future. JUNETEENTH is a time for pride in our accomplishments; an acknowledgement of all of the inventions created by US, which makes life better around the world; celebrate all of the artists, dancers, musicians, and athletes which define us through the ages, and which people continue to emulate today; celebrate all of the scientists, engineers, architects, doctors, astronauts, educators, among many others, who we represent as we celebrate JUNETEENTH!!!

JUNETEENTH allows us to crow, just as the Irish do on St. Patrick’s Day. So, come on, and let’s do this!!! Fly your Bendera (red, black, and green flag), have a cookout and invite your friends, attend a JUNETEENTH celebration somewhere near you, set off fireworks… dance, laugh, eat, enjoy good friends. Let’s celebrate widely, and with inspiration. On June 19th, let’s show that indomitable spirit. The glass is half full!!!! LET’S CELEBRATE FREEDOM!!! AND, let’s be prepared to fight for it. The struggle is not over, but neither is our perseverance.

Black men have no Allies: WHAT WE STAND FOR!!

When the black people realized that they were free, Recently (and consistently) Black men have captured the imagination and ire of this great nation we live in called the U.S. of A.

From the over turning of dreadful prosecution of Bill Cosby to the actions of Jussie Smollett. Nothing has seemed to provide more insight into the way this country views black men than the criminal justice system and the application of justice as it pertains to Black men!

With the murder of Nipsy Hustle and the chaos that ensued at his vigil. I reflect on just what this ideology means to me and other black men!

Contrary to popular belief (and some complaints) Black Men Have No Allies (BMHNA) is not a movement or a revolution against black women but rather a call to spiritual arms for Black men to begin to work together towards securing a better future for our families and our community abroad!

I look to reach out to a diverse group of black men whose opinions range on any number of topics and ideologies to figure out a way collectively on how to address and solve some of the biggest problems confronting our community!!

Will it get ugly sometimes? I can guarantee that but I also believe that through respect and a common goal we can ACHIEVE that which we set our minds to do!
