The pandemic drew the curtain over Movie Park Germany's 2020 season ahead of schedule, and caused a drop in attendance. But it won't affect the park's plans for a new Intamin roller coaster slated for next Spring

Nel 2021 Movie Park Germany di Bottrop festeggerà 25 anni di attività e ha in programma una sorpresa davvero speciale per i suoi visitatori: un nuovo Multi Dimension Coaster di Intamin Amusement Rides si aggiungerà alle sue tante attrazioni per diventare un nuovo beniamino delle famiglie. “La celebrazione del 25° anniversario segna una tappa importante nella storia del nostro parco e per questo desideriamo offrire un regalo speciale ai nostri ospiti” afferma Thorsten Backhaus, Ad del parco. “Le famiglie con bambini sono il nostro principale target e i nostri sondaggi dicono che gli ospiti adorerebbero una nuova attrazione per famiglie senza inversioni, ma con un tema e una trama entu-

Prendendo ispirazione dai famosi Hollywood Studios californiani, la nuova attrazione porterà gli ospiti in un emozionante tour degli studios hollywoodiani con diversi set ed elementi scenografici e un preshow abbinato. L’avventura comincerà dal grande portale di ingresso le cui forme riprenderanno quelle dei famosi studios di Los Angeles, per poi accedere alla waiting area scenografata in modo molto elaborato e al preshow che porterà i visitatori ad Hollywood. the whole family on an exciting Hollywood studio tour with different sets and scenes as well as a matching preshow. Guests will start the adventure when they pass the huge studio gate, the new landmark for the themed area, based on the iconic studios in Los Angeles. Then, they will move onto the elaborately designed waiting area before watching a preshow that will transport them to Hollywood. As for the rollercoaster itself, its track will be 532m long, with three 12-seater onboard-audio trains running at speeds of up to 60kmph and taking riders behind the scenes of the world of movie production through 12 different scenes, which are reminiscent of well-known movie scenes. “With the new Multi Dimension Coaster we want to further strengthen the brand ‘Movie Park Germany’ and position ourselves even more specifically as a movie-themed park,” says Manuel Prossotowicz, Project Manager and Brand Development Director. “At the same time, we are also taking our guests back into the park’s past to make the Movie Park Studios a more realistic experience.”Elements of old attractions, such as the former Gremlins Invasion ride, the Cop Car Chase coaster and the Movie Magic Studios will be integrated and staged in the new coaster studio tour, as well as elements of the former studios on the Movie Park grounds. The opening of the new coaster is scheduled for spring 2021. The ride construction and installation process is currently in full swing. Work on the attraction already started in October when the first track elements were delivered. In the next few weeks, the art deco style station will be set up and the first themed elements will be delivered. To realize the new ride Movie Park Germany is working with a handful of experts: Leisure Expert Group (project development and design), Wiebe Damstra (project manager), P&P Projects (theming), IMAscore and IMAmotion (music & sound effects, multimedia and special effects, animation and graphics). n

L’apertura del nuovo coaster è programmata per la prossima primavera e sul posto i lavori di costruzione e installazione stanno procedendo a pieno ritmo. A ottobre sono arrivate le prime sezioni del tracciato e nel giro di qualche settimana verrà montata anche la stazione di carico/ scarico in stile art deco style e saranno consegnati i primi pezzi delle scenografie.
