THANK YOU FOR GROWING WITH US FOR 30 YEARS! Hartman’s Towne & Country Greenhouse dates back to the mid-1960s, when the business started as a hobby greenhouse. This hobby soon attracted the interest of others who were interested in flower and vegetable transplants for their own gardens. The good word apparently spread, and in 1985 Hartman’s built a facility at its current location on Nagle Avenue and today has an immense 45,000 square feet of greenhouse space. Spring is prime time at the greenhouse, sporting a wide and ever-changing variety of flowers and vegetables for yard and garden. Summer and fall bring customers looking for perennials, mums, and ornamental kale; and the holidays burst into a colorful array of poinsettias, wreaths, and outdoor evergreen arrangements. How to Choose a Garden Center As spring draws near, the birds start to come out of hiding and many people begin to turn their attention to gardening. Starting in January, mailboxes throughout America begin to be stuffed with seed catalogs.
OPEN POLLINATED, GENETICALLY MODIFIED OR ORGANIC?
In many cases you will have more than one choice for a garden center in your area. Choosing the right one for you may be confusing.
Anyone who has spent any time digging in the dirt knows the meaning of these buzz words. Recently they have made it to the top of all gardening organizations.
Ask yourself what features are important to you. It is simple to become familiar with the industry as long as you pay attention to a few key things.
Open pollinated designates a seed or plant that will reproduce itself purely if seed is properly saved from the fruit of the plant. An organic seed or plant has been produced without artificial or chemical pesticides. Genetically modified plants are created by laboratory technology that manipulates the plant’s genes. For example, instead of mixing two different kinds of corn to create one that is more resistant to diseases, they may combine genes from corn and a totally unrelated tomato plant. These modifications do not happen naturally in the breeding process.
HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN IN BUSINESS?
Thanks to Our Staff
The longer a garden center has been in business, the more likely they are to have great service and offer quality plants. Even if the greenhouse or garden center has changed ownership, it is likely that there has been a continuation of business practices. While the length of time in business isn’t necessarily the only thing to be considered, it is a good indication of sound business practices. Many times when a business is sold the original owners stay on to provide training to new employees and owners to help with a smooth transition. This process of a smooth transition can often be a good indication of good management as well.
IS THE GARDEN CENTER LOCAL OR NATIONAL? Sometimes this can be difficult to determine. In many cases, garden centers may belong to a franchise and get their plants from other areas while having a local management team. This can make it more difficult to have control over the final product that you may buy.

won’t be apparent until the plant is already in your garden.
Although the perfect looking pictures can make your mouth water, not everyone wishes to start their spring garden from seeds. There are many other options to consider when planning the garden of your dreams.
A greenhouse that grows all of their own plants from seeds has full control over their inventory. The closer the plant is grown to where it will eventually be gardened, the better the end results will likely be. It is important to understand that plants are shipped in very small containers for long distances. This can cause the plants to be subject to more plant diseases, most of which
People are very wary of genetically altered seeds and plants. The truth is that there are many advantages to this type of plant. On commercial farms, this type of plant can give distinct advantages over those that are not genetically modified. In a backyard garden however, this is usually not necessary. When shopping at a garden center, you should know what types of plants are being offered. Many will have identifying points listed on the tag. If not, you should check with the staff to get information. Generally, commercial crops are more likely to have genetic modification done on them. There are many other points to consider that will help you make the right decision about a garden center or greenhouse. All else being equal, spend some time visiting all of the options. You may find a combination from several provide you with the best results. It’s important to feel free to shop around and compare prices. Customer service is also very important. Generally, gardeners are friendly and knowledgeable and always happy to give you pointers. You should find that the garden center you choose is informative and friendly.

How to Choose a Hearing Aid Dispenser Choosing the right hearing aid can change your life for the better, but the process actually starts with something more important: choosing the right hearing aid dispenser. The dispenser, or the company that provides your hearing aid, plays a vital role in making sure you get the best results from it. They will not only help you pick the right device, but they’ll also help teach you how to properly use it. And a good dispenser will help you long after the sale, too. Here are some things to look for when choosing a hearing aid dispenser. CERTIFICATION Every state has a different certification or licensure process for hearing aid dispensers. Your doctor or audiologist should be able to direct you to a qualified dispenser in your area, and you can also check with your state government to verify that the dispenser is certified to operate in your state. Keep in mind that certification is a minimum standard, though, and you’ll want to talk to your friends, family and neighbors to get advice about which providers they’ve used and how happy they were with the experience. Just like hiring any professional, the more you know about their reputation, the better a decision you can make. PRODUCT LINE Most hearing aid dispensers offer products from several brands at a variety of price points. You’ll want to ask which brands the dispenser carries and what their prices range from. With good quality hearing aids often costing several thousand dollars, you’ll want to make sure you have several to pick from that can meet your needs without wasting money on features or performance you don’t need. PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE Since most of us aren’t experts on hearing aids, you need to look for a dispenser who is. Not only should they have an understanding of the medical reasons behind hearing loss — since every hearing situation is different — but they should have in-depth knowledge of their hearing aid products. Hearing aids can be complex devices, especially when you’re looking at high-end models that can be customized extensively to match your hearing needs. A good dispenser can take those technical terms and make them easy for you to understand. TRIAL AND WARRANTY Ask if the dispenser offers a trial period for their hearing aids. Some companies offer a 30-day
trial so you can make sure the product works exactly as you expect. You should also ask about what kind of warranty the hearing aid comes with. Many hearing aids are available with coverage for loss or damage, almost like an insurance policy, which can be very important down the road. Make sure you understand what the warranty covers, how much it costs and whether there will be any fees if your hearing aid needs to be replaced or repaired during the warranty period. FOLLOW-UP SERVICE When you buy a hearing aid from a good dispenser, one of the things you’re paying for is good service. And that includes service after the sale. This is especially true when it comes time to have your hearing aid adjusted or repaired. It’s common for hearing aids to require several follow-up visits to make sure they are fitted and adjusted correctly for your ear, so you should look for a dispenser that is both technically proficient and a good listener. They should be able to understand your hearing needs and make any changes necessary to fix any problems you find. You should also ask about loaner devices if your hearing aid needs a repair. Most hearing aid dispensers will be able to do some repairs in-house quickly, but major repairs may require your hearing aid to be mailed off. This is when it’s good to know their policy about loaner devices. In the end, if you shop carefully and investigate their reputation, you can find a hearing aid dispenser that will help you find the right aid at the right price. And when you do, you’ll be much more likely to be happy with the results from your hearing aid.

How to Buy a Diamond The sparkle, the shine - it just can’t be replaced by any other stone.
Manitowoc’s Busiest Jewelry Store

Proudly serving the community for 88 years.
Buying a diamond can be stressful if you haven’t done your research. Your local jeweler can show you and teach you what you need to know when shopping for a diamond. How much should you spend? Choose a comfortable amount that you know you can afford. In the diamond world, the four Cs are known as cut, color, clarity and carat weight.
CUT Cut truly is the craftsmanship applied when cutting the facets of the stone. A well cut diamond sparkles beautifully. Cut can also refer to the shape of the diamond. Several popular shapes are listed below. • Round: The classic, traditional cut. The majority of diamonds sold are round. • Princess: Brilliant-style shape with sharp, uncut corners. Typically cut square, generally has 76 facets and has as much brilliance and fire as the round diamond.

• Emerald: Usually a rectangular shape. The flat planes of the outside edges allow for a variety of side stone shapes. • Pear: A brilliant diamond based upon the round brilliant diamond. A typical teardropshaped diamond will contain 58 facets. • Radiant: a straight-edged rectangular or square stone with cut corners, 62-70 facets. • Marquise: A football-shaped diamond. • Oval: A very romantic cut.

The color of a diamond has the second biggest impact on its price, after carat weight. Diamonds are graded on a scale of colors ranging from colorless to light yellow. The scale ranges from D-Z, with “D” considered colorless. Colorless diamonds are typically the most valuable. Colored diamonds in natural fancy colors like pink, yellow, blue, chocolate, black and purple are becoming popular. White diamonds are the most popular.
CARAT A quality 1 carat diamond can be just as impressive as a 2 carat diamond if the clarity of the stone is better. However the size of a diamond does have the biggest impact on its price. The metric carat, which equals 0.20 gram, is the standard unit of weight for diamonds. A 0.5 carat is about 5.2 mm in diameter-width and 1 carat is about 6.5 mm in diameter width.
CLARITY Most diamonds have imperfections. Clarity refers to how clean or clear the diamond is . The clarity scale ranges from FL-13, flawless to imperfect. GIA Diamond clarity scale • FL-Flawless: No imperfections inside or outside the stone under the loupe magnification of 10 power. • IF-Internally Flawless: No inclusions under a loupe of 10 power magnification. • VVS1, VVS2-Very Very Slightly Imperfect: Small inclusions which are very difficult to see under a loupe of 10 power magnification. • VS1, VS2-Very Slightly Imperfect: Small inclusion which are slightly difficult to see under a loupe with a 10 power magnification. • SI1, SI2-Slightly Imperfect: Inclusions which are fairly easy to see under a loupe with a 10 power magnification, or visible to the naked eye. • I1, I2, I3 - Imperfect: Inclusions that range from eye visible to very easily seen to the naked eye. Before purchasing the perfect diamond, your jeweler should explain the maintenance of the stone to you. Diamonds worn every day should be checked by the jeweler at least twice a year. Another important aspect to consider is insurance. Many homeowners polices also cover diamonds. Insurance for your jewels should not be overlooked; your investment should be protected. According to local diamond buyers there are several things to be careful of when buying a diamond. Watch out for diamonds that have been enhanced, whether with color or clarity. Also beware of fake diamonds like CZs or Moissanite. Find a jeweler that you trust and that will provide you with a high quality diamond that meets your expectations. The Gemological Institute of America is an independent grading laboratory for the diamond industry. Search their Web site at www.gia.org for more information.

How to Choose the Right Landscaper Are you looking to improve the appearance and value of your home? Choosing a high-quality landscaper may be the right option for you. Landscapers and the landscaping companies they own or work for provide a wide variety of services for their clients, and finding one that offers what you want for your home — at the right price, of course — is essential.
home, you may need to hold off on the top-notch sprinkler system you want to install. If the irrigation system is a must, you may need to limit the number of times you have your lawn mowed each month.
How can you be sure you’re choosing the right landscaper?

You may want a landscaper who will mow your lawn regularly but find that having someone who prunes the trees is more critical. Be sure to identify which services you need and which you want. Then you’ll be ready to begin searching for the right landscaper.
KNOW YOUR BUDGET Cost is always a major consideration when hiring a landscaper, and the best way to stick to a budget is to set one. Be sure you know how much you are willing to pay for the landscaping services you need and what you can afford and are willing to spend annually on your landscaping. This will help you to determine which services on the list you created are truly necessities. In order to stick to your budget, you may need to make sacrifices. If you need to have a new landscaping wall built in order to protect your
GET REFERRALS Word of mouth is a great form of advertising, and a good landscaper will come with excellent recommendations. If your neighbors have been using a service and you like what you see, ask them which company they are working with — and ask them about the pros and cons that they see with the services. If your friends or family use a landscaper, seek their advice as well. You may also want to do an online search for local landscaping companies. No matter what, check the BBB and the Internet for consumer reviews of the companies you find. If you see many negative reviews for one company, it may be better to move to the next one on your list.
CONSIDER AVAILABILITY One of the first questions that you should ask any landscaper you interview is when they will be able to complete your limited-time projects and how often they will be available for maintenance. If you want to be home when the landscaper is working, be sure that they work in your area when you can be there. You’ll also want to address other questions you have. For example, if your community has noise regulations, ask each landscape company what they will do to adhere to them.
IN SUMMARY Finding the right landscaper for your needs takes a knowledge of landscaping techniques and confidence in the company you hire. Know your needs, ask for referrals, and do your research as thoroughly as possible to make sure that you choose the right landscaper for your needs.

Word of mouth is a great way to find out about salons. However, one person’s great experience does not always translate into success for others. If you want to ask acquaintances for recommendations, the most important thing you can do is ask someone who has a hair type similar to yours. If you have coarse, curly hair, your straight-haired friend might have a different experience than you will. You want to make sure the stylist and salon you choose is able to deal with your particular hair type. Keep this in mind when asking for recommendations. You should ask not only for the name of the salon but also the stylist. In many cases it is the stylist that can make or break your salon experience. Inquire about the stylist’s personality. If you are the quiet type, you might not have the same rapport with an outgoing stylist as your talkative friend does. If you are conservative, you might not like what a more daring stylist does to your hair.
It is also important to choose a salon that

Look at the websites for the salons in question to gain insight into what type of place it is. If you are looking for a good budget cut, don’t worry if the site doesn’t have too many bells and whistles — or doesn’t have a website at all. This just means they keep costs down, which helps them offer services at lower prices. On the other hand, if you are looking for a high-end makeover, an impressive website could be a sign of an impressive experience to come. This shows their attention to style as well as how modern they are.
Even high-end salons sometimes charge

If your hair is easy to cut but you have trouble finding a great color, opt for a salon that is known for its colorists. Remember that salons excel in different areas and everyone’s needs are different. Ask yourself what the most important criteria are for choosing a salon and then proceed with that in mind.
PRICE One of the most important criteria in choosing a salon for many people is price. When a salon quotes a price for a haircut

Your appearance says a lot about you. If you want to make a good impression, choosing the right salon is vital. It may take some trial and error; but, once you find the right salon for you, endless great hair days are within your reach.

FOR YOUR PERSONAL INSURANCE NEEDS. CALL FOR A FREE QUOTE. HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT INSURANCE AGENT
It is not uncommon to find shopping for the right insurance agent to be something a challenge. Finding a company that offers the right combination of service, coverage and price isn’t easy to do.
The problem may simply be one of not knowing how to identify reputable, experienced agents. It is vital to keep in mind the fact that everyone needs to have the right type of insurance coverage in place, and that a seasoned agent can help make that happen for his or her clients. Prior to choosing your insurance coverage, it is necessary to identity a skilled agent willing to guide you through the process. You should always conduct thorough research into multiple agents in order to find the best one for your needs. A great way to start is to seek referrals from friends, family members and colleagues you know you can trust. If you receive a recommendation, there is a strong likelihood that you will have the same type of positive experience as the person providing the referral. Talented agents know that offering great service is the best way to keep receiving personal recommendations and increased business. If you are satisfied with your agent’s work, they would surely appreciate your willingness to refer friends and relatives in the future. Those who have not had the benefit of a personal recommendation are free to conduct their own research. It may be wise to begin by making inquiries of individual companies and brokers. Selecting a large insurer offers greater uniformity among agents, as they will have undergone the same types of training and be subject to the same policies. However, they may also lack creativity and innovation in the way they handle their accounts. Thorough deliberation is critical when shopping for the best agent. Treat the research process as your would if you were purchasing a new car or home. Make sure that you pick a company that is highly regarded by consumers. You should also verify that any prospective agent possesses all necessary licenses and training. Once you have narrowed your list of possible agents, it is a good idea to meet with each one. Have a list of questions and concerns ready so that you can gather all of the information you need. Be certain that you feel comfortable with their answers before you take the process any further. If you feel as if an agent is trying to get you to purchase a policy that does not meet your needs, you should proceed cautiously. Simply inform the agent that you need more information and are not ready to make a decision immediately. If you are working with the right kind of agent, they will allow you to take as much time as you need to collect all of the research and detail necessary to make your decision. They will also treat you like a good teacher- giving you lots of useful information - rather than a high-pressure salesperson. Also make sure that your agent is willing to have an ongoing relationship with you. If the relationship ends once the sale is made, you will be at a clear disadvantage. If your dialogue is a continuing one, you will be able to contact your agent if you have any questions or concerns. This could even include seeking help with a claim filing should the need ever arise. Take caution to choose an agent that is reputable and established. If your agent has been in the business for many years, chances are they will better understand the policies that they sell and be able to take extra care to ensure that you are properly protected. It is important to secure the appropriate type and amount of insurance in order to properly protect yourself and your financial future. Thorough research needs to be done to make certain that you have purchased insurance coverage tailored to your specific circumstances. You, your family and your finances will reap the benefits of the extra effort. A seasoned, skilled ‘insurance agent is an invaluable resource for safeguarding your future. Marv assures, “If you have a unique medication-related need, we will make every effort to help you.” A notable recent accolade for the Medicine Shoppe is its accreditation by the Center for Pharmacy Practice Accreditation last November, one of only three pharmacies in the country to earn this designation. According to CPPA Executive Director Lynnae Mahaney, “The Medicine Shoppe is a wonderful example of the diverse patient care services that innovative community pharmacy practices are offering today.” Marv’s humble response was, “For years, we have been committed to providing the best possible care to our patients, and this important accreditation validates that we are on the right track.” As a locally owned business, The Medicine Shoppe also believes in giving back to the community. The pharmacy and various staff are proud members of the Two Rivers Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club of Two Rivers, Two Rivers Main Street, and Two Rivers Business Association. …The only locally-owned pharmacy in Two Rivers WI-5001890261

Here are five things to consider when choosing a groomer.
1: Caring and Competent Staff Your primary concern should be how the grooming staff will handle and treat your dog or cat while in the salon – particularly if your pet is sensitive, shy, or has special needs. Observe how employees interact with the animals under their care. Kindness and patience goes a long way to help reduce any stress your pet might feel. Trust your instincts. You should feel comfortable asking about grooming services and explaining exactly how you want your pet to look so that there are no surprises.
2: Clean and Safe Environment Look around the facility or ask for a tour. The grooming area should look and smell clean. Pay attention to where the dogs and cats are kept while waiting for your return. Be sure your pet will be in a safe, secure environment. Ask questions. Will your pet be caged, and
if so, for how long? Will your pet come in contact with other animals? What will happen if the groomer gets called away for an emergency?
3: Variety of Grooming Services Some groomers prefer to work on certain breeds. Ask if the groomer has any restrictions or will accept dogs of any size and breed. Also ask if they groom cats or other small companion animals. The simplest grooming typically includes brushing, shampoo, blow-dry, and nail trimming. A full service groom might also include trimming the fur on paws, legs, or ears. Certain breeds require hand stripping or clipping over their entire body. Be sure you understand what is included in any grooming package you select. Some businesses offer additional services like brushing, de-matting, flea treatments, and anal gland expression. A few offer a premium pet pampering services such as nail polishing, ear and teeth cleaning, facials, and therapeutic massage.
4: Convenience Look for a business located in an area that is convenient for you. Check the hours of operation. It should be easy for you to schedule an appointment, and there should be parking available when you drop off and pick up your pet.
5: Cost Grooming options range from self-serve pet washes around $10-15 dollars to full service professional grooming that can cost $45-$75 and up depending on the size, breed and work involved in the service. If you’re not sure what services your pet needs, talk to the groomer or staff. They can explain what is best for your pet and maintenance services that can help keep grooming cost down.

It’s a good idea to drive by homes the builder has worked on in the past. You might want to do so on the weekend, that way you can talk to the home owners and ask questions. Take a notebook with you with questions you want to ask and write down their answers. It will be easier to review your notes later and make a final decision. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions. Even questions that seem insignificant can yield important answers. Ask the builder you are considering for references. When you contact the references ask the same questions. It is also a good idea to contact your local Better Business Bureau and Home Builder’s Association. Once you have compiled a list of three of four possible build-
Ask if the builder will oversee the work on a daily basis or if they have a project manager who will do this. This applies even if the work is subcontracted. You want to make sure that any possible problem is noticed and addressed quickly. If a problem is left undetected until the project is complete it could be very costly to correct it. It is generally much easier to catch a problem early on and correct it while the initial building process is still going on. Make sure the builder is open to questions and is good with communication. While choosing the right builder may take some time, in the end the efforts of being selective will result in satisfaction with the finished project.

How to
Choose a HVAC Company In the summer, there seems to be nothing more important than good air conditioning. In the winter, nothing is more important than an effective heating system. The key to getting great heating and air conditioning service is finding the right HVAC company. It’s been said that an HVAC company is like a spouse. Good ones are helpful, reliable and there for you in your times of need, whereas bad ones will cost you a lot of money, cause you many headaches and put you in uncomfortable situations.
the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Belonging to one of these organizations shows that the company you’re considering knows their business.
Word of mouth will provide the best recommendations for an HVAC company. Ask your family and friends who they’ve had good experience using. When you hear the same name more than once, that’s a good sign.
Make sure to check for proper permits. An HVAC company getting the proper permits can save a homeowner many headaches. Load calculation is another thing that will save you from plenty of problems in the future.
Make sure that you let the company know that they were recommended by people close to you. This will let them know that they need to do a good job or other customers will hear about it and maybe consider taking their business to another company. When researching any sort of company, you’ll want to check with the Better Business Bureau. For an HVAC company, check with your state’s board of contractors. You can also check the local mechanical inspection office to be really thorough.
Ask the difficult questions What are their prices? Do they offer a guarantee or warranty?
What are their usual turnaround times? What manufacturers do they use?
It’s a good idea to have a load calculation performed before installing a new system in any building. The company that you select should be willing to do so. There are HVAC companies that will use a general rule of thumb to size the necessary equipment instead of double checking, and some companies will just install the same size of equipment as equipment that is being replaced.
You want to make sure any company you use is reputable. Unfortunately today many are not as reputable as we’d like to think.
These methods can cause unnecessary problems for you. Many times you don’t know if a load calculation was done when the first system was installed and changes in the building have probably taken place over the years.
You’ll also want to know if the company has insurance and is bonded for accidents that are likely to happen occasionally. This can save you from having to file a claim on your homeowners insurance should any mishaps take place that cause damage to your property during the installation.
A system that’s too big will be inefficient and cause big problems. A system that’s too small won’t be able to heat or cool the larger area. When you have the system that is installed to fit the needs of the building, you will save money and be much happier.
HVAC companies that are quality businesses will usually have a membership in a reputable professional organization. Some well-known organizations include
Following this advice will help you find an HVAC company that will help save you some money and leave you satisfied with their work.

creating beautiful smiles - Comprehensive Dentistry All Implant Procedures from Surgical Placement to Final Restorations
Additionally, implants can help you keep the teeth you already have, as they do not rely on neighboring teeth for support. And, many people who suffer with ill-fitting dentures should consider implants. The majority of patients who make the switch from denture to implants report that the implants are far more comfortable. The first step in determining whether implants are for you is to make an appointment with your dentist to have a complete dental health assessment.

Dental implants are a good choice for anyone looking to replace missing teeth or for use in supporting crowns, bridges and even dentures. For many people, they offer the most desirable option because they offer both stability and permanence. Dental implants are not for everyone, however. There are a few things to consider if you wish to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for dental implants.
Properly done, they offer the look and feel of natural teeth and, because they fuse to your jaw bone, offer more stability than other alternatives. This integration into your jaw bone helps the implanted teeth feel more natural and very comfortable.

Know if Dental Implants are Right for You
Advancements in technology have made the implants more authentic in appearance and given them the ability to fit within the structure of any human jaw. Although they are more costly than some other options, they are worth considering if you want an attractive smile and increased self confidence.

How to
It needs to be determined that the patient has healthy gums and bone tissue. This will insure that the dental implants can be properly secured to the jaw bone. They will also rule out health conditions that may make you a poor candidate for dental implants. Your appointment should be with a dental specialist such as an oral surgeon, a prosthodontist or periodontist. You want to make sure the dentist has the specialized training and experience to do the implants. The appointment should include a full dental exam. The office will take a complete medical and dental history. They will take X-rays and maybe a CT scan to determine if you have adequate bone density and to determine the shape of your jaw. At the end of the exam, the office will discuss your options and explain the implant
procedure. At that time they should be able to tell you if you are a good candidate for dental implants. If it is determined that there is a shortage of gum tissue in the mouth, the dentist may be able to perform dental bone grafts that can strengthen the area in which the dental implant will be placed. It is preferred, though, that the patient’s dental bone and gum tissue be healthy before beginning the dental implant procedure. Secondly, any smokers or individuals who use tobacco products will be asked to quit using tobacco products before they commence the implant procedure. Smokers are not generally good candidates for dental implants because their bone and gum tissue is generally not as strong as that of non-smokers. Halting all tobacco use is generally effective in allowing the body to begin naturally strengthening the dental bone and gum tissue of previous smokers. Generally if you can answer yes to the following questions, you are a good dental implant candidate: 1. Are you in generally good health? 2. Do you have healthy gums and enough healthy bone to anchor the implants in the jaw? 3. Are you committed to being diligent about the care of your implanted teeth and general dental health including regular brushing and flossing? 4. Will you maintain a schedule of regular dental check-ups? Remember, dental implants are expensive, so you should check with your insurance agent to see if they are covered before proceeding. However, dental implants can be a great confidence booster as you regain a beautiful, natural smile. It may be the best thing you do for your overall physical and mental well-being.

Affordable Alternative to Avoid Probate
How to Prepare your Estate Plan It is a common misconception that only wealthy people need to worry about estate planning. However, this is most definitely not the case. Regardless of your circumstances, whether you are rich or poor, old or young, you really should create a plan for the handling of your property and other assets in the event you die unexpectedly. Not having a sound estate plan can result in legal difficulties, great inconvenience, unnecessary taxation and family strife. Taking the time to consult with estate planning professionals can have a significant impact on your lasting legacy. The best estate plans are those crafted with the assistance of an experienced lawyer who can create documents written with your specific circumstances in mind. Candid information about personalities, the size of your estate, and your goals are vital to a sound estate plan.
DOES YOUR ESTATE REQUIRE COURT SUPERVISION? A Will subjects your estate to the probate process. Probate is the court-supervised process of transferring assets from a deceased person. Reasons for court supervision may be ill feelings among those who are left behind, assets that are difficult to value, or taxes or creditors that need to be paid, just to name a few. When you think about whether your estate requires court supervision, you must also think about the future. If your children get along now, are you sure that will always be the case?

How to Guide
In cases where it is needed, the protection of the Probate Court is valuable. But in many instances, such as that of a close family, or of a surviving spouse who is the sole heir, often unnecessary and burdensome. There are alternatives to probate, which when used in the right circumstances can be faster, cheaper, and more user-friendly. Among them are: Joint tenancy. This passes the property by the designation on the title to the joint owner. Transfers on Death or Payable on Death designations allow designation of a successor on the title of real estate or accounts. Use of these methods, while simple, can unintentionally alter a person’s wishes. If you have one child, and two step-children by a later marriage, a well-meaning bank agent or financial manager can designate a transfer on death to your child when you meant to leave your estate to all three children. Trusts. While most often used to minimize estate taxes , or to provide for management by skilled money managers, the trust can, and is, often used to avoid the probate court. A trust can give you all of the income, as much of the principal as you desire, and can be revoked. What makes it somewhat cumbersome is 1) its up-front cost, and 2)
the transfer of all of your property into the trust. All property, including property acquired after the trust is in operation, must be titled in the trust. You must be ever-vigilant to insure that everything is owned by the trust.
Wisconsin has a better way! The “Washington Will” The Washington Will, first developed in the State of Washington, is in fact a statutory agreement that simply avoids probate. Nothing has to be transferred-all assets are covered. If you have a Will that accomplishes everything you want, you can develop a Washington Will that attaches to your Will to transfer the property, but without the supervision of the probate court. It is inexpensive to draft, and takes no vigilance to ensure that all is covered as does a trust.
ADDITIONAL COMPONENTS OF GOOD ESTATE PLANNING Every adult should have a Will, regardless of age, but that only represents one piece of a solid, comprehensive estate plan. A Health Care Attorney appoints a trusted person with making health care decisions for you if you are incapacitated. A Financial Power of Attorney does the same for making financial decisions for you if you are unable. A Declaration to Physicians (Wisconsin’s “Living Will”) directs your doctors if the Health Care Attorney is unavailable.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY Think and discuss with your spouse and/or perhaps with your family, the effect that an unexpected inheritance may have. A windfall of the money that you have saved for your safety and the safety of your children may have exactly the opposite effect that you intend. Too much money at a young age can ruin a child’s life. Regret over a squandered inherence is all too common. Finally, an important part of an estate plan is communicating with your family about what they can expect to receive as part of the estate. You should be frank with them and, while you don’t necessarily have to go into every detail, they shouldn’t be too surprised by the size and nature of the inheritance they receive after your death. Many estate disputes and heartache can be avoided by simply engaging in open communication. This is another area in which a good estate planner can be helpful. Estate planning is their professional focus, and that includes the complicated family dynamics and concerns that typically accompany the process. With the right estate plan and experienced professionals to help, your estate can be a blessing that your heirs will treasure for the rest of their lives.
