WAUSAU Balloon Chase 5K Run/Walk.
The early bird catches the worm on July 9! The hot air balloons will launch between 6-6:30am with the race following to “chase” them starting at the Wausau Downtown Airport (316 Scott Street, Wausau). Each participant will receive an event t-shirt, free pancake breakfast and goodie bag!
Balloon & Rib Fest.
Treat yourself to delicious ribs, hot air balloons and the largest fireworks show in the region. Mark your calendar for July 7-10 for fun filled days at the Wausau Downtown Airport (316 Scott Street, Wausau).
Concerts On The Square.
Soak up the sunshine and some amazing tunes at the concerts on the square (The 400 Block, Wausau). There will be shows on Wednesdays, June 22-August 24 from 6-8pm.
Chalkfest.
Let your creativity come to life July 9-10 (The 400 Block, Wausau). Make your own creation or admire other’s masterpieces.
Summer Kickoff Weekend.
Start summertime off the right way and celebrate Father’s Day weekend June 17-19 (The 400 Block, Wausau). At dusk on Friday, there will be food vendors, children’s games, music and a movie. On Sunday, there will be a classic car show with over fifty cars to scope out!
Screen on the Green.
Grab your lawn chairs or snuggle up on a blanket for a cozy evening on the 400 Block. Enjoy the warm summer night while watching a movie on July 22 and August 12.

Big Bull Fall Blues Fest.
Plan to be at Fern Island Park August 19-20 for Wisconsin’s longest running Blues Fest! Sonny Landreth and Walter Trout will be performing so grab your tickets. There will be food, beverages and of course fun.

Kids Duathlon.
Support a good cause on July 29th at UWMarshfield/Wood County (2000 W. 5th, Marshfield). The proceeds benefit Marshfield Clinic’s Center for Community Outreach Youth Net Program. It’s an afterschool program that provides programming to over 300 at-risk youth throughout the school year, focusing on individual outcomes related to academic performance, social/emotional learning and healthy active living.
13th Annual Hub City Days.
Celebrate Marshfield’s historic downtown and culture July 29-30 by creating memories! There will be martial arts, dance demonstrations, the Amazing Race Marshfield edition, pork cook off, car show, brew fest and more (Downtown Marshfield).
Relay For Life of Wausau.
Mark your calendar for June 10-11 to attend this incredible event designed to celebrate survivorship while raising money for research as well as programs for the American Cancer Society. The community event begins at John Muir Middle School at 6pm on Friday. On Saturday, the race starts at 4pm with the opening ceremony at 6:30pm.
Farmers’ Market.
Find a plethora of Wisconsin-made and grown flowers, produce, baked goods, crafts as well as food from June 7th-September 27. It will be in the Pick ‘n Save parking lot (600 Block of South Central Avenue, Marshfield) Tuesdays from 8am-1pm and every third Thursday from 2pm-7pm.

Treat your ear drums to music and entertainment while enjoying local art as well as sidewalk sales. Head to Downtown Marshfield every third Thursday starting June 16 and going until September 15 from 5-7pm.
Wausau Whitewater Recreational Release.
On June 11-12, paddlers are able to use the course freely to practice their whitewater rafting skills. Check it out whether you want to fine tune your abilities or are a seasoned pro. Enjoy the gorgeous weather and bring your family as well as friends. Each paddler is responsible for their own safety.
Hot Time In The City.
34th Annual Dairyfest.
Join in celebrating some of the best things Wisconsin has to offer June 3-June 5. It includes the Mayor’s Dairyfest Breakfast, a downtown parade, an old fashioned picnic, movie in the park, crafts and the Cheese Chase 2K/5K runs. The 2nd Annual Wisconsin State Cornhole Championship Tournament will also be held at the fairgrounds, open to all who wish to participate!
After a busy day at the office, soak up some business to business networking that includes food, music and fun! It starts at 5pm on July 28 in the BMO lot.

Humane Society of Portage County Walk for Wags.
Bring your furry family members for a day of demonstrations, children’s games, contests, basket raffles and even more! Registration for walkers and their dogs starts at 10:30am and the 1.5 mile walk begins at 11am. It’s free to participate but donations will be accepted for the Humane Society of Portage County.
Mike’s Run.
Walk Wisconsin – Walking Marathon.
Take part in a non-competitive walking marathon held on the Green Circle Trail (1100 Crosby Avenue, Stevens Point). The full marathon starts at 8am, three quarter marathon starts at 9:15am, half marathon starts at 11am and the quarter marathon starts at 12:30pm. There will be comfort and nutrition stops along the way.
Memory Care Support Group.
Lean on each other’s shoulders to make a positive difference on June 14. It will go from 1pm-2pm and there is no cost to attend (5625 Sandpiper Drive, Stevens Point. This group offers support to those with memory loss or those caring for someone with memory loss.
Help raise awareness of mental health issues and reach out to those in need! On June 25, there will be a 5 and 2 mile run benefiting mental health awareness at the Steve J. Miller Recreation Area (501 W 4th Street, Marshfield - Next to Hackman Field). Registration starts at 7:30am and the race begins at 9am. Marshfield Clinic along with family and friends of Mike Hackman are joining together to speak out about mental illness in order to provide a hopeful message as well as inspiration to those affected.
STEVENS POINT Special Olympics State Summer Games.
Cheer on the participants in a state competition which involves aquatics, powerlifting, athletics and soccer. The event is free to watch from 9am-5pm on June 9-11 and volunteers are appreciated (2100 Main Street, Stevens Point).

Golden Sands Parade of Homes.
Take a step inside some of the region’s finest homes June 2-June 6 (1001 Theater Drive, Plover). Expand your knowledge about local builders, understand their styles and bring back ideas for creative projects in your own house.

6th Annual Renaissance Race Against Cancer.
Put on your shoes and race for a stellar cause on June 11 from 8:30am-11:30am (911 Peach Street) that helps local cancer patients at the UW Cancer Center Riverview. All proceeds from this event help remove barriers for patients that might otherwise restrict access to the life-saving treatment everyone deserves such as gas cards to allow patients to get to and from treatment, co-pays for medicine, necessary supplies not covered by insurance and even things like replacement hot-water heaters if needed. There will be a 5K as well as a 10K run/walk.
Wisconsin Rapids Kiwanis Club Summer Youth Outdoors Day.
Soak up the summertime weather and plan a family day on June 4 from 9am-3pm. This event will be on Red Sands Beach at Lake Wazeecha, Wisconsin Rapids and all the activities are free. There will be kite flying, tree climbing, rock wall climbing, waterskiing, canoeing, fishing, bow and arrows along with so many more options!
Golf Fore Life.
Make your way to Lake Arrowhead Golf Course (1195 Apache Lane, Nekoosa) for a best ball scramble golf tournament. Check-in as well as late registration will start at 9am. The tournament will begin at 10:30am on June 27 and there will be a silent auction. Register a team of four for $300 or as individuals for $75 with the proceeds benefiting First Choice Pregnancy Resource Center. The price includes a round of golf, cart, hors d’oeuvres and lunch.

The festivities will be every Thursday from June-August during the hours of 11:30am-1pm. Every week a different business sponsors the event so it’s a great time to try some delicious local dishes. Remember to stop by the custard stand for a much needed treat!
Gather By The Gazebo – Music In The Park.
Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championship. Come celebrate the 50 year anniversary with the largest water ski show tournament in the entire world from July 21-July 24! You’ll love a day at the beach while watching the best teams from Wisconsin perform. Every team will have an hour to blow your mind with their ballet lines, swivel skiing, shoe skiing, barefooting, and even more! The competition begins at 6:40am and goes until approximately 6pm at South Wood County Park (6411 South Park Road, Wisconsin Rapids).
Connect with local businesses to see what they have to offer you. There will be music, food and memories to create at Alpine Village Business Park in the town of Rome. This event will be held on June 14, July 12 and August 9 from 5:30pm-7:30pm.
Not Your Average Triathlon.
Take time out of your busy schedule to participate in a non-competitive event with plenty of options on May 28 from 7:30am-12pm at the Barnum Bay Marina (1735 Archer Lane, Nekoosa)! Choose to run/walk the one mile or the three mile route with a gorgeous view of Lake Petenwell. Bicyclists have the option of biking three, five or ten miles on all blacktop surfaces. Participants are able to decide what order they’d like to complete the events and how many of the three they’d like to enter. If you’re in need of a rest, there is a local park alongside Lake Petenwell to take a break.
