We as a Committee are excited as we approach the 21st Annual Shipbuilders Credit Union Presents Lakeshore Weekend. So much of our focus the last couple of years was closing in on the goal of reaching the Million Dollar mark. With the help of many, our awesome Committee, Connie, who worked so hard over the last 20 years to juggle family and fundraising when I was stretched in many different directions to you…the residents and business owners of Manitowoc County, YOU have made this event what it is today.
Match Time ‘11
We reached our goal last year of surpassing a Million Dollars raised for Children’s Hospital, but the need has never been greater. Each year we see more and more of our residents from Manitowoc County referred to the services of Children’s Hospital. We are honored to do a Patient Family Tribute on Sunday afternoon to pay tribute to all those heart warming stories as to why we continue to work so hard to raise money. If you need more information on this, please call my office at 683-0202
Get ready to match the “Stars” as “Match Time 2011” takes to the stage!
A raucous revisiting of the classic game show where contestants plucked from the audience will have the opportunity to win valuable prizes as they attempt to match “Celebrity” answers to hilarious fill-in-the-blank questions. Scheduled to appear in the roles of your favorite panelists include local luminaries such as Mayor Justin Nickels, Director of the Rahr West Art Museum Barb Bundy-Jost, Alderman Christopher Able, Dr, Maura Mansfield, DVM, Ryan Nelson, Jim Vogel and Julie Schreiber. Come join in the (BLANK)!
Please join us this weekend as we come together to make the 21st year our greatest!

About Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is one of the nation’s top pediatric facilities. It also is a Level I PediatricTrauma verified by the American College of Surgeons. Founded in 1894, Children’s Hospital serves children with all types of illnesses, injuries, birth defects and other disorders. Care is provided to children from Wisconsin, Michigan, northern Illinois and beyond. Children’s Hospital is a private, independent, not-for-profit hospital. It is a major teaching affiliate of The Medical College of Wisconsin and is affiliated with more than a dozen schools of nursing. A number of other pediatric education programs also are associated with the hospital. All proceeds from Lakeshore Weekend benefit Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Located in Milwaukee, Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s leading regional pediatric medical centers. It is the only hospital in Wisconsin dedicated solely to the care and treatment of children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. In the past 20 years since Lakeshore Weekend first began, over $1,000,000 has been raised and donated to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. In 2010, SCU Presents Lakeshore Weekend raised a total of $85,897 for the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. Last year 1,900 visits were made to Children’s Hospital by Manitowoc County families, and more than 4,400 by Sheboygan County families. Children’s Hospital is a pediatric referral center for our local hospitals. Working in partnership with our local health-care facilities and physicians, they are able to treat injured and ill children - our own friends, relatives, and neighbors.
