Dear Members, The month of January has passed very quickly and ended with a deep cleaning and maintenance program of our Kissing Camels Club House and all the Lodge facilities. We did this at the slowest time of the year and separately, to keep as many amenities open as possible. Thank you for your understanding during this closure as it’s impossible to get into common areas and functional areas to conduct cleaning and maintenance on this level while open. The team performed an incredible amount of work and I hope that you will see a difference because of this hard work. In a seasonal club operation, it is a normal practice to do this once per year and we will be continuing each January with a similar exercise. While in the last week we’ve seen some small amounts of snow precipitation we have still been struggling with adequate water and have had very little precipitation since September of last year. Our golf course maintenance team have been working hard to keep the greens protected and truck watering greens until we get more consistent warmer temperatures to reengage our irrigation systems, all so we can open in the spring with beautiful playing conditions. We continue to monitor the amount of snow we are receiving and how this will impact our walking only policy. Until we receive a considerable amount of moisture, golf carts will continue to not be permitted on the course as they tear up the dry grass to the point where we will not be able to open in the spring with the playing conditions we expect. I would also like to thank you for your patience as the salon was completely renovated and is now ready to welcome you back for hair and nail services. I hope you will agree the new layout and equipment is an improvement to provide the best and most comfortable services for our members. With Valentine’s Day landing on a Monday this year, the Food and Beverage team is offering a special menu beginning on Friday evening through Monday with music each evening. If you’ve not made your reservations for the special Valentine’s dinner menu, please do so through the Member Portal. The demand for the January Member Social was so overwhelming we added a second evening. This increased interest may be since we decided to continue with the events being complimentary. Previously these events were at a cost and during the pandemic we decided to make them free, which we have now decided to continue. Going forward we will offer two evenings of Member Socials each month through April so that we may accommodate many more members. During the summer, as has been normal for many years, we resume our Music Under the Stars events, before resuming complimentary members socials in the fall. Finally, as we continue to see COVID cases rise, our team members have begun wearing masks again. This is for their protection as well as for you as members. We hope to do our part in keeping you and our staff safe and healthy as COVID remains unfortunately part of our lives. We hope that as spring and summer resume that cases will diminish, and we can remove this need. SCULPTURES ENHANCE GARDEN OF THE GODS Welcoming visitors to Garden of the Gods Resort, Club and STRATA Integrated Wellness Spa from Mesa Road is Joie de Vivre (Joy of Life), the first of four commissioned sculptures by Jodie Bliss, Artist Metalsmith extraordinaire of Bliss Studio and Gallery in Monument. Three additional Bliss sculptures, With the Tides, The Three Graces and Sunrise were installed at the same time as Joie de Vivre and grace the property throughout.
Joie de Vivre represents balance, navigating a road that is sometimes structured and sometimes spontaneous. The sphere is balanced by supportive design and, looking closely, one can see the abstract representation of Vermillion, a “V.” Standing tall with head held high Learning balance as the wind blows Embracing the vibrance of purpose, we fly the Joy of Life is in the flow.
With the Tides is located at the entrance to the Recreation Center Pool. Once amply flowing now slowed to a dribble, Droplets gather and emerge as an ocean. The tides will rise and dwindle away, So that they might rise again one day.
The Three Graces is located at the entrance to the Gateway Building. Beauty whirls, free as a bird. Charm smiles and take her hand. Grace Joins them, bringing elegance. Together they dance as one.
Sunrise is located near the Hill Memorial Fountain just to the north of The Rocks Lounge. Dawn breathes life into the hushed horizon Fire erupts with the says first glow A burst of change in a wink of time Sunrise unfolds over the Garden

Enjoy raffles and prizes for most team spirit dress and game-long food stations which change each quarter, celebrating favorite game day dishes of the two teams in the contest. COLORADO INACTIVE SCORE POSTING SEASON NOVEMBER 14 - MARCH 15 Colorado’s inactive score posting season begins in mid-November. If you are traveling to your winter residences and are NOT in an inactive posting season, please remember to post all your scores immediately after playing. As you know, golf is a game of equity, and it is your responsibility to post your scores. GOLF COURSE UPDATE Winter Has Arrived! During this dry winter we’ve be experiencing, your golf course maintenance team has been busy watering greens, tees, and fairways with our water trucks. Extra attention has been given to course clean up from the recent windstorm. We have staged all the debris between South 6 & 8, with removal and chipping scheduled for the end of the month. Topdressing of greens, tees, and fairways will continue as weather permits and this will allow for moisture retention through the rest of the winter months. Bunkers will be filled back with sand once the wind dies down and the sand can remain in place. KIDS CLUB CREW Welcome New Kids Club Team Members Alexis is originally from Arizona, and moved to Colorado Springs when she was nine years old. She is currently a nursing major at Pikes Peak Community College, and hopes to become a pediatric nurse. Alexis has worked with kids for the past two years, and is excited to help carry on Kids Club traditions, as well as make some new. Brandon is a Colorado native, majoring in computer science at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Brandon has worked with kids for the past three years at the YMCA, and is also in ROTC as a mentor for underclass grads. Brandon is a natural born leader, and we are excited to expand Kids Club with his skill and expertise on our team.
