POP ideas has developed partnerships with a range of public, private and social economy organizations across the city. We have worked with On Course South West, Crowdfunder, Plymouth City Council, Livewell South West and others to support more local community groups, more effectively. Our yearly Dragon’s Den style ‘Pitch Your Project’ sessions have been hailed as a model of good practice by funders. This brings together 13 local and national funders to hear project proposals from local groups. The funders then are able to spot projects they can support. Building on this we also facilitate Plymouth’s Partners and Funders Forum which brings together over 50 organizations to collaborate to maximise investment into the city. In 2016 and 2017 the People’s Health Trust approached POP ideas to support their targeted funding for Plymouth community groups. We supported 13 successful applications to this funder and helped to secure £373,000 for Plymouth groups. We run the local Fundraisers Network. This group brings together individuals and organizations involved in funding and fundraising. We meet with key national organizations to discuss a range of themes such as funding updates, policy news, fundraising good practice and tips and techniques around funding.
