Musical Performance by Marty Ruiz Thursday, Oct. 7 10 to 11 a.m. Garland Senior Activity Center Dining Room
Join us for a morning of music and fun with Marty Ruiz. Light refreshments will be provided. Saying Goodbye is Bittersweet, but.... As most of you know, the Garland Senior Activity Center will close sometime this fall for overdue renovations. The center has been here since the early 1990’s and is in need of repairs and refreshing. The renovations will include a new roof, new windows, new flooring, kitchen updates, fresh paint, a larger fitness room and a larger card room. Even though our doors will soon close for a while to accommodate these changes, this doesn’t mean we are leaving our members without a place to play. We will be relocating many of our programs and activities to Gale Fields Recreation Center on Dairy Road and possibly a few to other area recreation centers. We will still play bingo on Mondays and Fridays, still have exercise classes, art classes, fun activities and trips! Our lunch program, which is currently delivery and pickup service, will also continue. A complete schedule of classes and activities with times and locations will be available. All of our staff want you to know that we will still be available to assist you and plan activities and events for you. So yes, saying goodbye is bittersweet, but in this instance we are only saying goodbye to our tired, fatigued building, and soon we will be saying hello to a refreshed, revitalized building ready to see us all through another 30 years or so!
