HMS Trincomalee 1817, Hartlepool - at around 65% of original components, she is possibly the most complete historic ship in the world. Fully restored by local craftspersons, at 200 she is also the oldest vessel displayed permanently afloat.

Whitby Abbey, Whitby - founded in 657AD by St. Hilda, it was made famous by Bram Stoker in his 1897 novel Dracula, when the vampire came ashore in the form of a wolf-like creature and climbed the 199 steps which lead up to the ruins.

Cut off during high tides, it was not electrified until 1977.

Opened in 1928, there was only one worker fatality despite over fifty falling off it and into the water below!

Some parts were replaced following explosion damage in both world wars.

The bridge replaced one from 1574 that was swept away during a flood in 1771.
