The 700 SCi is the fourth engine to be accredited by Mercury Racing’s T.E.A.M. initiative. The standardized T.E.A.M. process ensures proper installation of the engine with factory specified components, providing maximum performance. The 700 SCi will be available to OEM boat builders and dealers who agree to the terms of the T.E.A.M. accreditation process.
Leave it to Mercury Racing to revolutionize the sport boat industry once again with an all-new integrated sterndrive engine package. The HP700 SCi is packed with game changing technology - from the PCM 03 managed boost bypass control valve to the dry-sump NXT 1 drive developed exclusively by Mercury Racing.
Shown in optional slate grey
The ENGINE The 700 SCi features a CNC machined, 502 cubic inch cylinder block. The intercooler, made of a copper-nickel alloy for enhanced corrosion resistance, is 0.75” taller to improve engine cooling. Boost bypass is achieved via an internal cast passage. The intake also features port fuel injection and a fuel cross-over passage which eliminates tee fittings and routes fuel to both port and starboard fuel rails. An induction hardened, micro-alloy crankshaft features larger journal radii for improved strength and durability. Connecting rods have a floating wrist pin and stronger rod bolts for more engine durability.
The BRAIN The 700 SCi comes equipped with Mercury’s exclusive Propulsion Control Module (PCM) 03 microprocessor. Combining the powerful computer with a 3.3 Liter Lysholm supercharger, roller camshaft and sequential fuel injection results in unmatched idle quality, throttle response and performance throughout the engine’s operating range. The 700 SCi's use of new PCM idle speed control strategies, along with an exclusive dual shift switch and coupler design, result in ultrasmooth shifting for the dry-sump NXT 1 drive. The PCM 03 computer also optimizes fuel, spark timing and knock control independently for each cylinder to improve performance and fuel economy. Supercharger boost is variable as the PCM 03 microprocessor continuously adjusts the amount of boost needed to provide consistent horsepower.

A new camshaft design provides increased valve lift for enhanced power and torque. The oil flow rate has been increased for better protection throughout the engine operating range. The 700 SCi is the first engine to come standard with Mercury Racing's new universal engine mount system which enables OEM boat builders to easily install the engine in virtually any hull configuration. It is also the first engine to feature our new, large capacity power steering reservoir, which is designed to eliminate the need for additional aftermarket reservoirs. Engine aesthetics include new carbon fiber reservoir covers, polished pulleys and seven color options in addition to Mercury Racing blue.
The PCM 03 controller closes the bypass control valve to provide active torque management throughout the engine operating range and additional boost required to maintain a consistent 700 horsepower when operating in less than ideal running conditions. The 700 SCi's ability to provide consistent horsepower eliminates the hassle of re-propping the boat to match conditions.
The NXT 1 DRIVE Mercury Racing has just written a new chapter in the book of revolutionary marine propulsion with the development of the all new dry-sump NXT 1 drive. The drive is robust enough to handle engines between 600 and 800 horsepower with an input

SmartCraft Equipped The 700 SCi comes equipped with the digital SmartCraft Controller Area Network (CAN) system, a network of sensors that proactively monitor engine functions. SmartCraft Integrated Marine Technology links power, controls, internal and external sensors to provide precise data on all boat functions at a glance. The system monitors a variety of vital engine functions including fuel flow, fuel range, fuel used, and RPM, along with water depth, trim angle, water pressure and battery voltage. A 14-pin Deutsch connector on the engine harness enables ignition functions and SmartCraft control to be incorporated into one harness.
Closed Cooled The 700 SCi features a factory installed closedcooling system. Five-year coolant increases corrosion protection, reducing maintenance costs and hassle. The system cools the entire engine cylinder block and aluminum cylinder heads. CMI “cool collar” Sweeper Headers feature a new alloy for more saltwater corrosion resistance and durability. A multipoint manual water drain system makes winterizing easier.
torque rating of 800 ft-lbs. The engine/transom plate/drive package is nearly 200 pounds lighter than a comparable engine outfitted with a standard size transmission and dry-sump Six drive. Both the drive and transmission feature dry-sump lubrication for higher efficiency and reduced operating temperatures. The unique through-hull location of the compact transmission enables the transmission to be installed after the engine is first mounted. Access to the transmission from the transom also allows the transmission to be removed and serviced without having to pull the complete engine.
700 SCi Color Options The all-new 700 SCi comes standard in Mercury Racing Blue Metallic. Seven additional color options are also available.
Available in both righthand and left-hand rotation and the following gear ratios: 1.61:1, 1.50:1, 1.35:1, 1.24:1 and 1.15:1.
NXT 1 Drive Key Features • Removable transom assembly cowl enables easier access. • Accepts both through-hub exhaust Maximus and over-hub exhaust cleaver propellers. • New interchangeable water pickup is mounted at the rear of the gearcase torpedo.
