Estimated 1 million USD, covering 21,600 sq. ft., the mixed-use building is designed for a businessman who intends to invest in automobiles, requires a single building for two purposes. This is one of my earlier projects where I completely under-took the project with my responsibility, drawing a conceptual drawing, drafting, construction drawing, visualization work, municipal drawing, HVAC drawing, and site supervision. The building is composed of commercial zone & residential zone divided by the green zone which hopes to provide good buffer space for residents. The projected box on the facade of the building displays vending bikes. This project was selected for an exhibition in the 12th International Symposium on Architectural Interchanges in Asia (12th ISAIA) for Young Architect’s Design Sessions�.

Conceptual Urban Utopia is a mixed-use building for a businessman who seeks to have radiant commercial space and nature engirdle residential space. This brick ideal has 12,800 sq. ft. in a builtup area in site enclosed by neighboring houses, challenging process to invite cross ventilation and lighting. This project ran for 5 months of the process with the guidance from Japanese architect Kazuya Morita. The material choice for this building originates from the country and city context. The building is composed of basement parking, two commercial floors, and the top two residential floors. I successfully completed every aspect of the project, from regular client meetings to design, construction drawings and municipal drawings.

The building is sculpted out from the mass that site provides us, sculpted in such a way that it provides proper sunlight, ventilation, appropriate solar gain. Architecture

Due to the site challenge, being surrounded by the building, it was hard to invite cross ventilation and natural light, so we came up with innovative ideas to solve our problem; stack ventilation, building form, and courtyard space. The courtyard space on top floors not only invites the sunlight and fresh air but minimizes direct solar gain on the floor, which reduced the massive heating problem in hot temperature sites.

I undertook the project with four engineers employed under me. I conducted regular client meetings, discussions with engineers, and even hiring the contractors. I was the only architect working in this project with Kazuya Morita. I worked on design drawings, 3D, walk-through animations, detail drawings, construction drawings, municipal drawings and even HVAC, electrical and sanitary drawings. Finally, I also did a market survey for the materials cost and quality as well.

I worked under the supervision of Ar. Chandralekha Kayastha, Nepal’s first lady architect. I was responsible to complete the construction drawings, site development drawings and 3D in 8 month of time frame. Also, I overtook the work of draughting all mechanical and services drawing under the supervision of Er. Susan Bajracharya.
DETAIL SECTION
This project is designed as a national headquarter for 44 branches of bank spreading all over Nepal. The design competition winning project located in a heart of Kathmandu, measures 29,440 sq. ft. This building provides the modern infrastructure and facility to the bank required for ‘A’ grade bank.

MERO SCHOOL I NEPAL Gaurav Neupane Architecture Studio | 2017 Professional Work
In January, I got a chance to travel remote villages in western Nepal to document and draft the schools & public building for the thesis project of Mr. Shital Babu Acharya (Tokyo Institute of Technology). During the long trekking, I witness parents sending their children to impoverished schools. Schools featured cold classrooms and insufficient rooms to sustain students. However, students love going to schools and teachers would teach them in fields. I was moved by the motivation of these kids, so I made this drawing and handed over to the schools’ authorities. These flexible blocks can be placed with comfortable changes with the site. These pre-school seeks a child-centered educational approach for the development of the whole child—physical, social, emotional,& cognitive skill in children.

MOUNTAINUE I JAPAN The 1st Asian Architecture Student Summer Workshop in Japan Architectural Design Association of Nippon | August, 2016 Theme: Pod Architecture Sabae is a small village in Fukui Prefecture, beautiful and historical, losing its young population to the big urban city. Our group raised the viewing level to 9 feet above the ground level, which enabled the people to see the beauty surrounding a Sabae village, traditional roofs, monuments & greens hills, calm and peaceful. My major involvement on the project was structural details & material selection and construction work. BUILD BACK STRONG: PERMANENT SHELTER PROTOTYPE IN NEPAL Nepal seeks to find a new, reasonable solution for building construction after April 25th devastating earthquake. Lack of standard structural strengthening, vernacular architecture is vulnerable every time such desolation occurs. Hence, people are more inclined towards RCC structures than their local architecture which in contrast happens to be way more sustainable. The architectural character has suffered a grave loss because people blindly followed rites of construction in ignorance that local building techniques can be equally strong & better. My major involvement was design and graphical works.

EARTHQUAKE MEMORIAL I SANKHU Asian Paints All Nepal Architectural Students Design Competition Individual Work | Top 4 designs | 2016 Awarded by His Honorable Vice-President of Nepal
Form of the building is heavily influenced by the sequel of Devastation during the earthquake. The giant rock rests upon the cracking block, just after hitting it. The pointy triangle creates a mountainous roof-line of our country in an aggressive mood, but gracious gesture towards the ground. The geometry used in this building is simply acute, pointy so as not to create a pleasing relation towards building and reminding people of ups & downs in our life. The reflection of this geometry is seen all over the site plan & even in the entrance gate & service block.

LEAPS AND BEATS I NEW YORK Individual Project | 4th Year | ADVS Summer 2019 Downtown Overland Park, KS Studio: Prof. Genevieve Baudoin
Dance is a universal language that transcends all boundaries of space and time. It communicates unexplainable emotions, bridges all the cultural heritage, and erases the line that defines all the borders. So, the form is also inspired by the pyramid shape, symbolizing the connection of the stars and the earth as does the pyramids of Giza. The circulation and public/private spaces designed considering how space is a grand but also intimate and welcoming environment. As a comprehensive studio, the presence, or interference, of the structure, systems, and faรงade relative to the program is the primary focus for the design of the project. The project combined with detailed technical drawings and a series of models at large and small scales through the phases of schematic design, design development, detailing and documentation, using both digital and freehand drawing and modeling methods.

KNOLL MUSEUM I NEW YORK 3rd Year | Design Studio Project | KSU 2019 Studio: Brendan Tucker
Knoll museum is located in the Noho district of New York between Lafayette St. and Great Jones St. This museum intends to celebrate Knoll’s design and legacy in furniture design. The design intends to have a free floor to create flexible space for the museum. To achieve that, circulations are at two edges of the site and service area in the north. The mass of the building is punched inside from the street line to respond to the intersection and invite people in and have a curtain wall facade covering the mass. The contextual brick facade provides ample natural daylight to gallery space and punctured mass in the loft space gives a view of New York City.

MANHATTAN’S NEW NATURE’S THEATER I KANSAS 48 hrs Design Competition | Honorable Mention | 2019 Team: Priyasha Shrestha, Morgan Nicole Dunay AP Design and City of Manhattan, KS
Nature continuously evolves around existing conditions. Like nature, this proposal is a response to the current conditions of the park. An elevated walkway is introduced to create a unique experience as pedestrians visit and use City Park. Formed around existing vegetation and park elements, the design creates new connections, while maintaining an organic form. This multi-layer approach will allow users to experience new sight-lines, paths, and exposure that will lead to a rare experience of the theatre and entertainment. This master plan demonstrates the primary proposed design element to City Park, the elevated walkway. This multi-layer approach allows for new connections, sight-lines, and experiences that will provide users with a once in a lifetime show. With elevated walkways connecting the playground, adjacent roads, art installations, the amphitheater, pedestrian mall, and sports fields pedestrians will have ample opportunity to access various aspects of the park, while experiencing City Park from an all new level.

The Net Positive Studio is a multiyear effort in which students in the professional graduate design programs at Kansas State University have partnered with Stafford County Economic Development Corporation, a non-profit community organization, to develop a prototype net-zero, affordable home for the Stafford County, Kansas. St. John Faces a crisis in the availability of affordable and quality homes which are necessary for the community to support and sustain future growth.Our research started with a complete understanding of the housing needs within St. John. A look into how our design developed over time to find an innovative way to solve the rural housing crisis. My major involvement was on energy analysis, neighborhood analysis, modeling and rendering, and diagrams. In the next semester we are physically building house and transporting to St. John, Kansas.

Dolakha is a mountainous district situated at a distance of 132 km from Kathmandu. Dolakha district is a beautiful tourist place carrying historical & religious significance, suffered severely from the Nepal earthquake 2015.
