MOMI
In short, the epoch of movie has been portrayed as a movie than the movie portrayed in museum itself. Not to mention attempt to frame in the subtle generic dynamism of the differentiated mobbed of urban-scape was tired to captured within as static Measurement. Hence, museum (statics) of moving images (dynamics).

sets up the stage for satirical metaphors within the centre of biggest stage in the country. Museum of moving images initially sets itself ambiguously within its surrounding but an attempt has been made to conjure the muteness of the spaces with the loudness of facade. A kinesthetically sounding experience in itself, the plan form suggests the proposal for conservation of history which visually accentuates the historical landscape of the Mahal at the lower level. A mutual dialogue is created between the proposal and the existent with cultural open air theatre being the main stage. The main idea was to keep it mute mutually with the surroundings irrespective of the modernist approach of zoning. As one moves upwards, the degree of kinesthetically ostentatious experience increases creating a dynamic variable within the urban context which can be seen as facade skin mutually adoptive through jaalis of Gulshan Mahal, proposed as transformative in nature. The story variates through-out the museum as none of imagery can be seen repetitive despite the number of times one travel but the final imagery has been created into the levitated kaleidoscope in the walk which portrays the larger imagery of the cities flavor than the static images of entertaining movie.

The internal dynamics within the static exposure has time and again been reflected within the dilapidated yet universally accepted image of Mumbai. The city of dreams as we call it witnesses the broken or lived dreams in every breath of its existence. The proposal of moving images was a phenomenological development within the cultural prescient of Gulshan Mahal, yet at the same time it

Inspiration Movies have always been a mirror to our society and have educated and entertained us about it. In 2014, the Indian cinema completed 100 years and a museum was proposed in order to commemorate this. Initially for this project, problems were raised by local people, demanding a recreational area instead. Another issue was a 103 year old building named Gulshan mahal which was in the vicinity of the site. Creating a new building right on face of a heritage building would have subdued its beauty and value. These were the forefront issues for this proposal.
The social fabric of Mumbai has generically developed itself into numerous cultural pockets, enhancing the domain of mixed use development. An attempt for a sustainable approach in terms of climate and local employment was made through this project. The major concern was to think about the issues raised by local public and amalgamate its solution in the building as its function. Advance objective to this thesis was the narrations in museum and how they affect the subconscious , giving the user an unmatched experience of phenomenology.

Cultural Study
The iconicity of the building has been determined by the resonance of the existing neighbors. The building sets itself as a perfect example of creating a centre stage for the view within the domain of the precinct. Moreover it promotes itself as an entertainment exhibit even from the houses of nearby neighborhood.

to the urbanscape around and hence shape of the building has been derived.

This dynamic fabric was used to cover the south facade of the building so as to control heat gain and reduce HVAC loads of the building. This was also a small research on computational skins that could be generated in Revit and be used to enhance external facade of the building. Help from local bamboo artisans was used to manufacture a sample unit for the final jury. Local employment as a sustainable factor was also proposed in the final design of the Museum.
07|08 MUSEUM OF MOVING IMAGES, MUMBAI Due to hexagonal shape “n number of units can be assembled together to form the facade. Computational thermal analysis was carried out on the facade paneling to study its efficiency on the south side of the building.

All the member used in the facade were bound by relational formulas in revit. Thus when ever a unit component changes its size, the others would be able to adaptive themselves with the altered value and formulate new patterns respectively.

Trials with rammed earth were carried out by mixing the raw materials with lime. Trained artisans from Auroville and local native workers were brought together to implement this Sustainable technique practically.

Terrazyme was used in another earth ramming technique to develop the thoroughfare around the house landscape and reduce overall cost of construction.
Respecting the existing has always been a good gesture in architecture. Doon School was one such ongoing project where the client strived for the perfect residential setting induced in the existing educational campus. The obviously the major challenge was to merge the technological advancements in modernity with the traditional consortium facades in its entirety.
The project aimed at carrying forward the timely expansion of Doon campus in its natural existence rather than bringing out a major statement in form. The aim was to keep the proposal in rhythm with the pre-1984 campus and so far the proposal has been managed successfully.

MALADEVI TEMPLE 2012, with Akshara Foundation Documentation work
19|20 MALADEVI TEMPLE DOCUMENTATION The grant was awarded by Akshara foundation by Ar. Snehal Shah for Maladevi temple documentation. During this documentation detailed survey of Gyruspur was carried and measured drawing were prepared. This temple is quite picturesquely situated on the slope of a hill overlooking the valley. Located on a huge platform cut out of the hillside and strengthened by a massive retaining wall, Maladevi temple is in fact imposing and stupendous building. It constitutes of an entrance porch, a hall and a shrine surrounded by a circumambulatory passageway, crowned with a lofty shikhara, all covered with rich carvings. Though now Jain images occupy the shrine room and sanctum hall, a figure of a goddess occupying the dedicatory block on the outer door frame and other decorative ornamental sculptures probably indicate that the temple was originally devoted to some goddess and it was subsequently appropriated by the Jains.

To see the unseen was the core concept behind the proposal. The ethnicity of Bamiyan culture was fused with the functions and aesthetics of the building. Symphony of rammed earth walls with dry arid mountains of Bamiyan was proposed to complement and respect the beauty of Bamiyan.

Building was conceptualized in layers and tunnels to echo the Buddhist caves which would be visible from existing site. The Idea behind the proposal of cultural center was to give a feel of cultural girth to the people of Bamiyan.

Bamiyan’s culture majorly comprises of Islamic and Buddhist influences. Conceptually, building has been divided into layers of cultural serenity with which Bamiyan is blessed; this works as the spine of the design proposal. Reflections of these cultural blue prints can be seen on the rock cut caves of Bamiyan hills, which were bombed and over time no Buddhist statues survived and caves still remain in ruins. Geometric Islamic jaali patterns and the sacred lotus of Buddhist culture depicting eight fold paths have been fused together to form the plan of the design proposal.

Building is kept subtle and is naturally fusing with the landscape around. Spaces are proposed in tunnels and earth berms, these are done majorly because of two reasons. One, to give more focus on Buddhist caves than the building and blending it altogether with natural context. And two, climatologically the Earth has high thermal mass which keeps the building safe from harsh climate that persists in Afghanistan.
