Tournament format – 2011 North America Outgames 3 round robin games + Double elimination ** Seedings in both divisions for the purpose of double elimination play will be determined by wins/losses and run differential from round robin play. 2 points for win, 1 point for tie, 0 points for loss. In case of a tie in double elimination play, international tiebreak rules apply. (last available batter put on second base with one out).
Tournament Rules:
1. Game time is forfeit time. 2. You need 9 players to start and finish the game. If a team fields 9 players,
the person that would be in the 10th batting position will be an automatic out. A player may be added any time to bring the game roster to 10. No EH may be added once a game has started. 3. You can bat up to a maximum 11 players (using 1 EH). If you use an EH and that player is injured and cannot continue, that spot in the batting order will be an automatic out. 4. Once courtesy runner is permitted per inning (last available batter). 5. Round-robin play will start with a 1/1 count and the games are scheduled for 60 minutes with no new inning starting after 50 minutes. 6. Double elimination games will start with a 0/0 count and the games are 75 min long, with no new inning starting after 65 minutes. 7. Medal games are 7 full innings with no time limit. 8. Coin toss will determine home team. 9. No infield practice permitted before game time as per Softball City regulations. 10. Pitchers are permitted 4 pitches to warm up at the start of the first inning or when a pitcher is substituted mid-way into the game. 11. The home team is the official score-keeper for the game. Winning teams must have the umpire or coach of the losing team sign the score sheet and submit scores immediately to the tournament directors table. 12. Players must slide or peel off on potential tag plays. 13. Safety bag will in effect at first base. Players must touch home plate. 14. There will be an 8 run limit per inning. The last inning is an open inning. 15. There are no over the fence home runs permitted in the “D” division. An over the fence home run is an inning ending out. Player uniforms must be the same color and have visible numbers. 16. No jewelry is to be worn by players. Violation of this may cause automatic out. 17. Umpires will view bats prior to all games. 18. Mercy rule in effect for both divisions as follows: • 20 runs ahead after 4 innings or 3 ½ if the home team is ahead. • 12 runs ahead after 5 innings or 4 ½ if the home team is ahead. 19. In the event of a player or team protest, a $50 cash protest fee must be submitted to the umpire prior to end of game. Umpire will notify Umpire in chief, who will contact the protest committee. The committee a representative from a nonplaying person who will consult the tournament director and the Head Umpire.

Softball City Park policies: 1
During regular park hours, the north parking lot is the only designated parking area for players and spectators. Parking in another area may result in your vehicle being towed.
2. Softball City assumes no liability for theft or damage to vehicles in the parking lot. Vehicle owners park at their own risk. 3. Pet`s are welcome, but must be kept on a leash and owners must pick up any pet waste. If this is not adhered to, the pet will no longer be welcome. No animals are allowed in the food service area or on the deck. 4. Drinking alcohol or having a tailgate party in the parking lot is strictly prohibited. Violators are subject to fines from the RCMP. 5. No outside food or beverage of any kind (except water) may be brought into Softball city whatsoever. Please support the Extra Innings Sports Grill. 6. Due to BC liquor regulations, consumption of alcohol in the dugouts or on the field is strictly prohibited. The following penalties will be applied if this policy is violated:

Alcohol will be confiscated. Team will be fined $25 A second offense will result with the same team will result in a $50 fine and must post another $100 performance bond. Third offense will result in expulsion from the tournament.
7. Players must warm up in the areas around the diamonds only. Infield warm-ups and batting is not allowed. This is to allow grounds crews to freely prepare the fields in between games. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action. PLEASE DON`T DRINK AND DRIVE !!!
