February 22, 2025 · One O’Clock In The Afternooon

WORTHING, SD

LET US HELP TAKE YOU TO THE TOP OF THE HILL ONE BULL AT A TIME.

As I sit here writing this letter for our 10th Annual Production Sale, I can’t help but realize how nice of a winter we have had here in South Dakota. This past week we had several days in the mid 50’s which for the end of January is super rare.

We would like to personally invite you to this year’s 10th Annual Bull and Female Sale on February 22nd at 1 O’clock hosted on the ranch here in Worthing, SD. We have assembled a great set of cattle for your appraisal and hope you can join us sale day. A lot of the females will have calves at side already so all the hard work has been done and they are ready to return profit! As you study the catalog you will notice that we put a lot of thought into our breeding decisions, and its always rewarding to see how they turn out, but this year in particular we are beyond proud of the results.

We also put a lot of time and research into providing the cowherd with the best nutritional regime possible. We all know that good hay and silage is very important, but here at Hilltop Simmentals we put a lot of emphasis on our mineral program which I’m happy to say has moved our herd towards faster breed back, less open cows, better BSE scores on our bulls and most importantly the overall health of our cattle!

Developing bulls is something we take a lot of pride in. From the time we decide what bulls are going to be marketed in the sale, to how they perform on our ration. We believe in strong and proven genetics to back up our bulls. We have learnt first-hand that if the bulls have been developed on a hot ration, they will not hold up in the pasture. They are on a pretty basic, high roughage ration with a really good mineral program. Doing this we have heard countless times how impressed our customers have been with the bulls holding up and not melting away after the first breeding season. We believe that developing bulls in this way also results in very good fertility, which is exactly what we need for our customers to be successful.

We have made significant investment into the best herd sires and donor females we can possibly source, ones that provide power and consistency. A herd sire we currently run is ES Right Time FA110-4, a bull that is no stranger to Simmental enthusiasts. He has bred above and beyond our expectations, seeing how he is going to heavy influence our herd has us excited for the future. This offering features 12 son’s and 7 daughter’s. Which of these 19 head we believe there are multiple bulls that could find themselves working for progressive purebred breeders, along with daughters that will be headed right into the donor pen for their new owners.

We want to thank you for taking the time to read through the catalog, and would love to host you, you’re family and friends on sale day!

WELCOME Jaron

welcome

I’m not sure our ancestors could have ever imagined the markets that we are currently seeing as beef producers. Truly there has never been a better time to have ownership in beef cattle, and to invest in the performance of your product, as many in the know, still forecast the next few years to be as positive and bright as the attitudes of the men that stand behind the Hilltop Simmental firm. Truly if you have not yet taken the opportunity to tour the ranch or visit over the phone with Jaron, then take this as your opportunity, because he and his crew approach the business with an enthusiastic and driven mindset that is unrivaled. They take their role as your trusted seedstock provider very seriously.

As always, you can trust that the offering is backed by serious investment and cow families of significance that have made a substantial impact on the beef industry. Both divisions of the offering are led by sons and daughters of ES Right Time FA110-4, an industry icon that stands at the front of the Hilltop Simmentals fall sire battery and has become a household name in the business. After several seasons of progeny, it goes without saying that his name will be etched among the legends of the breed, siring a balance of quality, performance, longevity and customer satisfaction across a broad audience. Followers of the program will have noticed the absence of a Fall Female Sale in 2024, this was only done in an effort to bring together the offering into one big Production Sale in the Spring, and allowing the Hilltop crew to do what they do best and provide as much customer service as possible in calving out a large majority of the bred female offering. We are excited for you to see the calves at side of the sale females, as we think they provide a vivid snapshot into the future of several very exciting investments that are being offered up for the female buyers.

With Jaron and his families experience in the livestock nutrition business, it comes without question that the presale care and development of the bulls is first class. Developed with the intentions to create long-term relationships with the buyers, the crew at Hilltop Simmentals has fed this set of bulls with longevity, fertility, and functionality in mind. They have been slowly developed in order to preserve their structural integrity and foot quality. They are fit and ready for heavy service!

Consider this your personal invitation to join us on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 in Worthing, South Dakota for a powerful set of Simmental herd bulls that will positively enhance your program’s bottomline. Hilltop Simmentals is conveniently located right off I-29, the gateway to a majority of the South Dakota bull sales, so don’t think twice about making a quick detour on your travels to investigate the impressive set of bulls ready for inspection. We believe that this offering presents the necessary diversity in terms of performance bulls, calving ease bulls, and aged bulls – there is truly something for everyone! We encourage you stop by the ranch or call and visit with Jaron about the sale offering. It won’t take you long to recognize the passion that he has for the beef industry. We look forward to seeing each of you on sale day!

For the guarantee to apply, we ask that you contact us as soon as a condition is observed and before the animal is sold. • ES Right Time FA110-4 remains one of the most trusted names in the Simmental business, and this purebred daughter epitomizes what started the reputation!

• This dense built, bolded ribbed, heavy structured and big footed female reads for impressive additions of weaning and yearling weight.

CCF SHEZA LOOKER

HLTS RIGHT TIME K292

• She comes with the advantage of fitting a lower input calving period, and carries a pregnancy by our exciting new addition to the battery, WHF On Point K344.

• The HLTS Miss Order G1729 donor has splashed onto the scene in this 2025 edition of the sale with 3 high quality, very dynamic progeny. The further support of the WLE Missy Z4293 matron maternally adds a lot of security to her production capabilities.

• Accompanied by two bull mates that sell as lots 49 & 50, this bred female is cut from the same mold when it comes to fleshing ability, balanced EPD tabulations and overall utility value.

• Maternal royalty comes with the ES Right Time FA110-4 influence in this very complete package. Her dam would be a past high seller and sale feature for the Oak Meadows program sired by the well-rounded and profit-driven Rubys Turnpike 771E and from the great Hooks Angel 11A.

• Hooks Angel 11A has been a cornerstone for the Aggen family’s firm, with over 70 progeny branded with the OMF prefix to her name. One of the most prominent would be the $60,000 OMF Hard Right H21 that is owned by Hartman and CK Cattle.

• We think Red Jewel L141 might be the most unique and intriguing built member of the sisterhood. We love the dark cherry hide color, added length of spine, perfectly marked face, additional bone and foot size and the looseness of structure she possesses. Her silhouette is truly remarkable.

• Purebred cattle with this kind of build and pedigree are hard to find, and the fact that she is red hided only adds more esteem to her value.
