On Saturday, January 23, 2021, our beloved Laura Ann Davis, was called home to rest by her Heavenly Father. Ann as she was affectionately known, was born January 20, 1956 in Newport News, Virginia to the late James and Gola Davis. She attended Newport News Public Schools and was a 1974 graduate of Ferguson High School. She furthered her education, at Thomas Nelson Community College receiving her degree in Business. Ann had a passion for baking and sewing. She made the best banana pudding in the 757. At every family or holiday gathering Ann’s banana pudding was the #1 request! She tried to teach the younger generation her culinary skills, but none have seemed to master it. She was also a self taught seamstress, and was often sought out by many for her gifting. She had a pleasant personality, was kind spirited, and had a unwavering compassion for helping others; often times putting others before herself! Every person who knew Ann could tell you a story of how she was a blessing to them. Ann was a dedicated employee of Sentara Medical Group with over 34 years of service. Of that, 20 plus years she served as the personal secretary to Todd A. Weisman,M.D. Ann came to know the Lord at an early age while attending Zion Baptist Church, and continued that love as a devoted member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Early Morning Usher Board. Ann was preceded in death by her daughter Norvease “Stuff ” Davis, her father James Davis Jr. and mother Gola C. Davis. She leaves to cherish her memories, devoted daughter Lavonia D. Davis ( James); granddaughter Armone N. Davis; sisters Aravia D. Johnson (Abdullah) and Felecia J. DeBrew (Larry); nieces Ravenna C. Johnson and FeLarrisha A. DeBrew; special friends Jackie Sams and Delilah Armstrong; devoted cousin Shelia Jackson; special daughter Morgan Curry; as well as a host of family and friends. Though we will miss her dearly, heaven now has another Angel!

When a Loved One Goes Home
Once they saw through a glass darkly, now they see their risen Lord. Once they fought through tests and trials, now they stand in faith’s reward. Once they had but partial knowledge, now they know as they are known. Once they walked a pilgrim’s journey, now their feet are safely home. by Roy Lessin
The family of the late Laura Ann Davis wishes to express sincere appreciation for all acts of kindness extended during her sickness and our bereavement. Words cannot convey just how blessed we were by everyone; your personal visits, telephone calls, cards, florals, food, and the many other special gestures during this time have truly touched our hearts. We are especially appreciative to the intercessors and prayer warriors for your fervent prayers on our behalf. A special thanks to the staff of Riverside Regional Medical Center. My God richly bless each of you.
