When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me I wish you wouldn’t cry the way you did today While thinking of the many things we did not get to say I know how much you love me as much as I love you Each time that you think of me I know you will miss me too When tomorrow starts without me please try to understand That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above And That I would have to leave behind all those I Dearly Love But When I walked through Heaven’s Gates I felt so much at home When GOD looked down and smiled at me from his golden throne He said This Is Eternity and All I promised you Today for life on earth is done but Here it starts a new I promise no tomorrow for today will always last And Since each day’s the exact same way there is no longing for the past So When Tomorrow starts without me do not think we’re apart For every time you think of me remember I’m right here in your heart Author: David M Romano
Obituary Charles Emmanuel Duncan entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2020. Charles was born on September 6, 1948 to the late Clarence and Ada Duncan in Hampton, VA. Charles was next to the oldest of five children. Butch, as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Hampton City School System. He graduated from Hampton High on June 8, 1967. After High School, Butch joined the United States Army. After serving his country with pride and an honorably discharged, Butch returned to Hampton, VA where he worked at the Newport News Shipyard for several years. Butch later relocated to Long Beach, California. He was employed at the Long Beach Unified School District where he was loved by staff and children. It was at this time Butch enrolled in Long Beach City College, where he received his Bachelors Degree in History; and did he love world history! In his spare time he loved to read and watch the history channel, when he was not watching the classic western movies. One of his favorite places to visit was Barnes and Noble; he would stay there for hours and come home with a lot of nice books, CD’s and gifts. He also loved to watch the cooking channel and order cook books to explore new foods. When we would ask Butch, what do you want to eat, his reply was “I do not discriminate when it comes to food”. Butch loved God and was saved at very young age. He would take his family to church and tell them about the goodness of God. During 1970-1975, Butch, was a faithful member of Belmont Baptist Church, Long Beach, CA, where Rev. Ronald Bridgett was the pastor. He later joined Spiritual Truth of Unity Fellowship Church, Long Beach, CA under the leadership of Pastor Carol Jackson. There he was a faithful Deacon and Choir Director. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 would best describe who Charles Emmanuel Duncan (Butch) was to all who knew him. We would often say “Butch is a man after God’s Heart”. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, Ada Duncan; loving sisters, Charmane Acty, Vernetta Akram, Vernice Debrick and Regina Duncan; brother in laws, Jerome Acty, Van Debrick and Sameeh Akram; nephews, Zachary T. Duncan (Joy Marcel), Mark Eley (Jontee) and Andrew Leverette; great-nephews, Zachary T. Duncan, Jr., Tobias Johnson, Alexis Alexander and Cameron Spencer; nieces, Mone Williams, Iman Williams, Jasmin, Jovan and Jeanette Eley, Gina Spencer (Derrick) and host of cousins, family members and friends.
