A precious life exited this world too soon. Elijah Davion Burke was swept away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. Elijah entered this world on September 4, 2000 and was entrusted into the care of Shavon Burke and David Burke III. The love and care his parents gave him was immeasurable. As a recent graduate of Menchville High School, Elijah, was a great student and ran on the Monarchs track team, participating in the 55 meter dash and 300 meters. This young talent enjoyed drawing and putting his creativity to use. He was a talented student at Tidewater Community College with a concentration in Graphic Design. An aspiring Youtube sensation, Elijah recorded and edited all of his videos for his personal channel. Elijah was a quiet soul and had a humble demeanor. Everyone who knew him loved him. He was a sweet, caring, thoughtful, respectful, reliable and responsible gentleman who was really laid back. Elijah was a peacemaker, never allowing negative behavior and anger bother him. He enjoyed playing video games; Tekken and Mortal Kombat were his top favorites. He also enjoyed eating, especially hamburgers and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. His smile was one of his greatest features and will be remembered always. Treasured memories will be kept near and dear to the hearts of his mother, Shavon Burke; father, David Burke III; brother, David Burke IV; maternal grandmother and bonus grandfather, Michele Scott and Dennis Scott (who were great inuences in his life); maternal grandfather, David Bledsoe; paternal grandmother, Darlene Thomas; paternal grandfather, David Burke, Jr.; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, Adhyim Bagley, Latrell Manning and Jaland Barber; father ďŹ gure, Devin Leslie; and many relatives and friends.
